- This offseason we have not seen the New York Rangers make a lot of big moves so far to upgrade this team. There have been 5 subtractions and 2 new additions to the NHL roster so far this offseason. Rangers could still make a big trade this offseason but could opt to wait tell the NHL trade deadline.

Promote within. Let Othmann/ Berard get a shot with Mika and Kreids on the 2nd Line and make Trocheck Panarin Laf the first line. Then go Cuylle Chytil Smith for the 3rd line and your 4th line will be bruisers Edstrom Carrick Rempe. Have to be a more physical team this year. Clearly FA wasn’t the route I guess.
Great idea, but what about Vesey? He’s a very good depth forward, Edstrom prolly would get rotated in you know?
@@Yo.its.__james dude come vesey has one good stretch during the season. I’d rather watch Edstrom body people than watch Vesey get bitched on the blue line or on the edge. This is about setting a standard that we can’t be fucked with like Florida. Sorry just not a fan of his.

@@trevor5335my bad bro, I agree but they need some sort of offense for the 4th line Edstrom will get his chance without a doubt Rempe will too, they just need to learn the game, they won’t be full timers YET, but next season I bet both will, sykora too, they could rotate him in as well
Berard is still a few years away from being NHL rdy. Even Othmann will still need work but he is more NHL ready. I watched a lot of Wolfpack games live, Berard is getting there, just not at that level yet. Othmann and Edstorm would be better choices over Berard atm. Robertson should be ready next season, forgot to mention that lol.
I like Drury's approach. Seemingly it is the following..
1. Get rid of bad contracts
2. Sign Ranger FA's
3. No new bad contracts
4. Count on prospects
5. Fill in the holes/depth
The Rangers have a lot of their prospects almost ready. So if you really think about it, the Rangers didn't really need to sign any big free agents, they needed to focus on gaining more cap flexibility.
Hopefully we see guys like Othmann, Berard and Edstrom get a good chance
People have no idea the impact a player makes on a team. Goodrow was a warrior, leader, Swiss army knife and someone younger players could learn from and emulate.
A 4th line of the 2 giants with goodie at the center would have been special.
The team wants to get bigger and play tougher yet the Jetson Goodrow and want to dump the Captain.
Drury has some real work ahead of him.
I agree. But not at 3.6 million.
Goody was an important piece just not at the price tag he had. If it was for like 1.5 to 2 mill per season, I do believe Goody would still be a Ranger as of today but that 3.6 million dollar price tag for a fourth liner/pk'er.

Like always I agree with what you say, they didn’t lose too much with goodrow, Vesey does what he does but he contributes offensively, 4th liner with 13 goals, I mean everyone else they lost, Gus, ros, and wenny, they aren’t big losses if anything that’s a plus that their gone, I think the rangers may be a little more defensive this season, carrick can help on the 4th line, smith could help with Mika and krieds, but I think they should use otthman on that top line, but honestly it doesn’t seem like kakko will be moved until the trade deadline possibly, the bread line needs to be your top line, the Mika line should be 2nd but they need to find someone to play with them, chytil can be the 3rd line center with cullye and kakko for now, the 4th line is gonna be interesting I think depending on the game they would throw Rempe in, but it’s gonna be carrick and Vesey for sure, but the other player is gonna be interesting, they have brodzinski now full time 1 way contract, they have Rempe and Edstrom, otthman too, they even have sykora who is very promising so they got some work to do, not make moves they have SO much depth, and every player is good and makes an impact, smith is gonna be a good passer I think he can help whoever, carrick is a good gritty defensive forward, he can play on the pk like goody, so they need to make some moves in training camp
The main problem the Rangers had last season was defensive awareness/positioning last year and it cost the Rangers during the Panthers series. Most of that series was played inside of their own zone, which is a major problem that has yet to be addressed. I can easily see Rempe and Othmann cracking the starting lineup next season, Edstorm I do really like, just not sure how much the Rangers Organization values him. Rempe, Othmann, Edstrom, Berard, Robertson will draw the most attention during the pre-season. I'll be paying attention to Robertson the most, Rangers need another good, defensive defensemen and Robertson is that type of player.

@@Yo.its.__james Oh yeah, I know. So many good young players to keep an eye on. Even Garland, who will be replacing quick after next season. I went to 10 wolfpack games lives, so I got to watch a lot of the future Rangers play up close. Losing Kris Knoblauch was a major blow, he was a really good coach for the kids on the Wolfpack. He only took an Oilers team who was 2-13 before taking over and got them to the Cup finals. Schneider, Mackay and Roberson will be the future defensive defensemen. Then Fox can just keep focusing on offense like he does lol. With Gus gone, it gives either Mackay or Robertson a chance to make the lineup. Zac Jones is "NOT" the answer.

@@Yo.its.__james *sighs* You aren't wrong, I think the Rangers realized that calling Jones up so early was a terrible mistake. Due to his contract, he couldn't get sent back down to gain more game experience and got stuck as the 7th defensemen with almost zero game experience so he's stuck in no man's land which I do feel bad for him. Cause of his situation, his growth will be very limited.
So u just use crosby for the thumbnail?
That is not Crosby it's Reilly Smith the guy the Rangers traded for
