I took it for granted she'd always be around and never saw one of her shows. There hasn't been a singer that has moved me inside since. A lesson learned.
To Antoniaglascoe Her music lives on that's why the spoken word is life. Yeah it's nice for those that never knew about her ( i was fortunate to have seen her in concert Fairfields hall Croydon) and i have most of her studio albums so she will live forever more.
My eyes will never get tired of seeing Phyllis Hyman! It's not just the physical beauty, it's also watching her lovely emotional facial expressions while she sings. Yes, she's all of that!
I was blessed to meet her. She actually walked up and helped herself to my plate.. Then teased me and kissed me on the cheek .. sat and we talked about her meeting Ella ... It was a memory I will never forget.
Phyllis Hyman is such a great interpreter and musician of song. She makes me feel such emotions. I will always love her. She is my all time favorite singers of all time.
One of my favorite songs from this album, I didn't even know it was a remake. Regardless, it doesn't matter, I'm so glad there's a live version of this beautiful song. The backup singer is a little messy on his solo, but I guess it happens. Phyllis sounded phenomenal per usual, and that moment at 2:52 is what legends are made of. That'd be a great picture for like an album cover or something.
Was just reading an old online Jet article and she said this song made her sad because she sang it after a relationship ended. Seems her talent and pain were on equal levels so sad...
Was this released as a single? This should have been a big hit for her. Her powerful vocals and such emotions make this a smash and one of my favorites from the album.
I love how Tokyo embraces other cultures! I'm loving seeing the kinte cloth Kufis and seeing that Foundational Black American Music is embraced by the beautiful culture of the Japanese people! I hope to travel to Japan one day! 😊 love u always Queen Phyllis ! 🙏💕🎶💯
Here! Here! I totally agree! A movie...especially a movie produced by Hollywood would not give her story justice. There should be an extensive (3, 4, or 5 hour) documentary that contains interviews from the MANY people that Ms. Hyman knew personally and worked with.
No one even comes close to Phyllis...sorry to say it...no I'm not, but, she was just sooo damn unique in every way and yet she doesn't get the credit that she deserves. There can't be a movie about her because noone can match her beauty and grace.

She deserves a movie, videos, and all we can do to keep her memory going
I AGREE!!!!

2:52 always gives me goosebumps...it's like the world is stopping
This song has now become my favorite of Phyllis. Of course this is subject to change any moment.
I AGREE WITH MOVIE, VIDEOS, RELEASE ALL ALBUMS AND EVER THING THIS LADY DID. ESPECIALLY THE WHISTLING. I LOVE HER MUSIC
Brother Valentino is working it out on the Soprano sax. A great voice with excellent musicians.

Toni Redd sounds just like this! Check out her Betcha by Golly wow.
This should have been the second single.
Dionne Warwick has a verison of this too. What ever happened to PH ex-husband Larry Alexander?..looks like he just dropped off the radar.
This should've been a # ! or big hit. It was uptempo. Did it get airplay on radio?
3:47 Phyllis speaking Japanese. Domo Aragoto
Did she forget the lyrics? 😂. I love this song and I love her. RIP. 😍💔🙏🏻
Not funny, she was having issues because of her addictions.
@@718kidd Please relax. No one is making fun of anyone's adictions. Peace and love. 💖🙏🏻
