    You can diy this, albeit not as nicely packaged without some technical knowhow. You can save half the money (or free if you already have the components (which many of you do). If you are using android os by buying a $8 hdmi capture dongle, requisite cables, phone mounting hardware, and download the accsoon app. The app still works with all features!! You can add a battery plate and USB splitter to add in phone/camera charging. I had all the components already at home so free for me! It does have more cables tho...lol 😂😂. I may need to 3d print myself a housing and it hack together

    A no-brainer for streaming, where you'd need a mobile internet connection anyway, but with prices for dedicated field monitor/recorders having dropped as low as they are now, maybe not ideal solution.

    Looks like a pretty good option. But I was unclear what was coming from the camera and what was built-in, like the audio monitor, and the VFx. Also would be nice to have a stereo mic in for audio if that's possible bc of the USB-C being needed for both.

    The price is really good considering those cheaper capture cards on amazon tend to be really hit-or-miss. I've heard of them going kaput after a couple days.
    If you were buying a reliable cap card to compare with this, you're looking at $60-100 easily.

    Interesting device, thanks for doing a video about it! I could definitely see myself picking one of these up.
    Just to clarify, am I right in thinking that the full rez (4k etc) files still get written to the camera's SD card, and that the lower limits only apply to what's recorded to the phone or for livestreaming?
    Also, do you know if the mic level monitoring also works when using an external mic, or does it just register the camera's mics? (Or maybe it's measuring what's going thru the camera's pre-amp, regardless of external vs internal mics?)
    Thanks!

    • @cameralabs
      @cameralabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The recording depends on your camera. Most allow you to record to BOTH their internal SD card while still outputting over HDMI to an external recorder, which is what I did here. Although when the Fujifilm HDMi was set to 4k, the Accsoon wouldn't display the signal. So that's why I set the HDMI to output 1080 in that case. Didn't need to do it on my Sony cameras though, it just worked. And in both cases the cameras could still record 4k internally at the same time. And the audio levels just monitor whatever's going into the camera, whether built-in or external.

    • @SethKastner
      @SethKastner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      According to Accsoon, this capture device maxes out at 1080p/60fps. You can theoretically get 4k into your Android using an AverMedia Streamer Cap 4k (or possibly an Elgato Camlink 4k). But you'd have to make sure that you phone has USB 3.0 as both of those require it. I livestream with one of the cheap "USB 2.0 HDMI grabber" devices, which is certain cheap (like $12 for the adapter AND a USB-C hub for passthrough charging via a battery bank) but cable clutter avoidance with this rig is really appealing.

    This looks awesome! I've been looking for a way to use my LG v60 with it's great screen for monitoring from my Fuji XT4. The fact that unit records 1080p and livestreams is a bonus especially at this price. I'd just record internally for the most part for the 4K, etc. I was planning at some point to maybe get the BMD Video Assist 5" 12G HDR. Thanks for sharing this.

    Now if this would have good quality 4K output I would instantly buy it as a match for my S21 Ultra. Also at lets say double the price...ok do throw in a sturdier construction and quick charging of the phone then. But I suspect that the device is mainly limited by many phones. Although those have a USB-c port they are still USB 2.0 devices at the interface. So I'll wait for Accsoon to maybe release an upgraded version in the future 😀

    • @cameralabs

    • @cameralabs

      @@cameralabs So if you output a 1080p signal, the moiré will disappear?

    • @cameralabs
      @cameralabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@imagenatura good question, but there could be multiple outcomes. In my scenario, the X100V was downsampling from 4k to 1080 before outputting it, so any moire was in the original signal. Maybe actually setting the original camera to 1080 would produce a better result, maybe not. It really depends on each camera and how they generate 1080. I wanted to try recording 4k on the original and a 1080 version for my comparison. I've seen moire on my hat pattern before, it may just be triggering any 1080 system.

      @@justaprankbro it's one of the capture cards that are on AliExpress and Amazon for ~$10-20. they capture 1080p30 and all have the same black dongle sort of design, with a male usb A connector on one end and a female HDMI port on the other end. Any old Type-C OTG cable should work, but i got one from monoprice that was flexible. Has anyone actually used this to live stream using 4g/5g from phone? Reviews on amazon sate saying streaming only works with WiFi... 🤔

    Hi Gordon ! Are you 100% sure that this Accsoon M1 records in H264 codec like you stated at 7:30 min.? because on another revirew (th-cam.com/video/r2SxwTCIwDM/w-d-xo.html) in the comments, someone from Accsoon stated that "The M1 uses the MJPEG codec, which is less efficient than the H264 codec used in SeeMo. 20 Mbps in M1 is equivalent to 2-5 Mbps in SeeMo". This info about the codec is missing on Accsoon1s website and online user manual. Thank you very much and all the best in the new year!

      @cameralabs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm, it's been a long time since I used it, so you've got me wondering. I'll ask my contact there. MJPEG would be a very strange choice in this day and age and seems extremely unlikely to me.

    • @dfgrama
      @dfgrama ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cameralabs I know, that`s why it seemed very strange to me too when I read that comment from an official Accsoon representative. Please let us know what info you get from them. It would be a pity to have such a useful tool crippled by MJPEG codec. Cheers!

      There's no trick. The accessory clearly stated in the title 'ACCSOON M1 review' lets you use an android phone for all those things.

      @@serhioromano I'm sure you can read, and in doing so, you'd know there were only 11 words in this title across one or two lines depending on your screen, so it's not too much of a time commitment to read it all before deciding to watch or not. And right at the start of the video, I also say it's a review of the ACCSOON M1, so it should be pretty clear what it's about, allowing you to stop watching after a few seconds. Sorry it wasn't what you were looking for.

    It's nice that it's for android, which is what I happen to use, but I really don't think I need this. Or any other external recorder for that matter. And although it's much less expensive than a NinjaV, it's still quite a bit of money. My Canon cameras have flip screens so I don't quite see the point. Those who do video professionally probably know why they need these things. I always seem to forget what the benefits are.

    Only downside is that it is already too difficult to move files and photos from a phone to a windows or Linux computer. This is especially so if you don't want to use Google services

    Can it connect with Camerafi Live App as external camera source? Is it works with Samsung A series like Samsung A33 or Samsung A53 ? The reason why is because i want streaming a basketball game with a scoreboard overlay and Camerafi Live App provide that feature and also has option to get source from external camera if we use HDMI to USB-C / UVC camera capture .
