Never going to pay these prices, never watched the Droids series and it was a stupid idea packing original Boba Fett and A-Wing Pilot on to this line. Recently bought some Star Wars Resistance figures, and with that I mean First Order ones, like Major Von Reg, Commander Pyre and Stormtrooper. These are really cool ones, they are not vintage but package as well as figures look damn cool.

It would have made for sense for them to have used the same molds but give them a different paint job (like they did with R2-D2 and C-3PO)

i have two droid figures on card they were cheap so i got them. just to have them in my collection. i wasnt in to them tho ,by the time 1985-86 rolled around i was 16-17 we were in to chasing girls, cars and beer ,star wars was coming to the end. i kind of feel ..power of the force ,droids and ewok lines they were trying to reinvent the wheel, the kids that were 10 years under in 1983 they were the new market and i think kenner wanted that market they had for 6 years to carry on. you cant recreate what happen in 1977 they try today and cant .it was a magic era. as for the high prices i no here in n.z those figures did not sell and a lot ended up in the bargain bin for a $1 [ i saw in one shop you buy one for a buck and you can pick one more for free ] and the ones that didnt sell went to the bin, so may be that could be the reason for high prices, most went to the dump...anyway thats just my point of view. and i would say anyone that does want one simth lord creations has some i think for 40 pounds
    thanks for the video...rock on

You're bang on about them trying to recreate what happened in 1977. That was a special moment in time that can never be recreated. I remember a friend of mine telling me that his younger brother got the POTF Luke Stormtrooper for 50p in 1985.

Often companies back then would pass them off on discounters like KayBee Toys and when even those places wouldn't take the items off their hands the companies would start passing them off in other countries at huge discount prices. I don't know if that's what happened with Droids other than the fact that they were discounted at KayBee. For some reason I bought the Kez Iban figure when I worked at KayBee back then.

You are showing the absolute highest price you can find. You can find most of what you show for much less. The 1985 show was animated and it was star wars whether we want to admit it or not. The figures are great because they more accurately depict the characters on the screen. If we want to be honest many, many of the Star Wars line that we are infatuated with were poor depictions of the on screen figures that they represent. I do think its an unfair assessment of the figures when its the figures depicted are from a cartoon having not watched the series.
