    Another fun and fantastic video Joey. As for all the droids, I actually forgot about the probot & somehow missed FX7. Lol. Still fun challenge to try to make it through all of them. Kind of amazing to see just how many droids were in the entire lineup. Actually when you put it on paper, it's a decent percentage of the whole line. As for your sensor scope R2D2 that you picked up, I think it looks pretty good, didn't take a lot of time to study it in the pictures from the video to decide whether it was grade-worthy or not, but I definitely think this one would be a good choice for the case rather than the $20 ragged sticker / faded limbs one. Either way, I think it was a great pickup for the price point. You can always be on the lookout for another one in the meantime (which I'm sure you are). Speaking of your graded loose figure run, you may have mentioned it in a previous video, and of course you're always looking for the highest grade possible, but is there a threshold that you're hoping to be above every time? Shooting for 80 each time I assume maybe? I know people ask me all the time to look at figures and to see if they should be graded, and it's always a challenge. Most people have a certain number in mind that they feel makes it worth having graded, and if they would receive it back with a lower grade then expected, I know there's a little bit of heartbreak there. Another fantastic video my friend, looking forward to watching the next one.

      I’m always trying to get 80s and above with I’m trying to either buy gradded or send in for a grade. I prefer 85 and above, but 80 if the price is right.
      For some figures that have too many accessories and ones that are easily foraged or hard to pair right because of to many variants in the COO or factory distribution, I’d rather buy graded then risk getting it rejected by the grade company. That’s why I have to research so much before I buy or send one in :). Thank you for watching my friend. I hope all is well!

    I only forgot two of the droids you listed - 8D8 and Probot (Probe Droid). I never had them as a kid, but I did get a great Probe Droid in the POTF2 line later on though. I have all of the other ones in the list except for EV-9D9 and 8D8. I love the droids! Most of my all-time favorite characters are droids - R2D2, C3PO, 2-1B, Power Droid (Gonk) and Mouse Droid (MSE-6).
    POTF2 released a black Death Star Droid and Mouse Droid two-pack. I have the Mouse Droid loose from that pack that I got from a friend on Face Book. The MSE-6 always brings a smile to my face when it shows up in the movies and TV shows. There's also a great level with it in the video game Dark Forces Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (whew! That's a long game title!) In that fun PC game, you get to remote control an MSE-6 to run it down some Mouse Droid sized hidden corridors inside the walls of an Imperial installation to find and disable a force field.
    The Mouse Droid is an underrated character that's a lot of fun. I hear that you can now get a remote controlled toy MSE-6 at the Disneyland store, or soon will be able to. I suppose a crafty person could make one from an old RC car, a 70's boat battery cover and other odds and ends.
    You got a good deal on that R2D2 with sensor scope, even if it does have some flaws. It's fitting that they made more versions of R2D2 than any other droid in the original line, possibly even in all of the modern lines too. He is, after all, one of the main heroes of the movies and books. He needs his own video game. That would be a blast!
    I enjoyed the Droids cartoon when I saw it as a kid. It's still fun to watch. I didn't care for the action figures they made from it though. I thought they looked weird when I was a kid. I wouldn't mind having the C3PO and R2D2 from it now though, if I ever saw ones for a low price.

      Hey missing 2 isn’t bad at all!!! The mouse droid would have been a great accessory with the Death Star Droid!!!! Man I wish Kenner would have done that! I agree, I’m glad they made multiple version of R2 and although I only had the sensorscope one as a kid, I’m not mad at all that I had to collect 4. I actually like that :). Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment John! MTFBWY!

      @@thepadawancollectorofficial It's really cool that there's four R2D2s. He does so many cool things in the movies that he's probably the most 'toyetic' (as the guy who started the Kenner Star Wars line used to say) figure of the original line. I never had the pop up lightsaber one as a kid, but I did have the solid dome and the sensorscope one. My orignal solid dome one got lost years ago, but I've got one again thanks to a friend on Facebook. I have a lightsaber pop up one now, but it is from the POTF2 line. The popping part doesn't work too well on mine, but he's still fun to display. He came on the 'flashback' cards they did when Episode 1 had been announced, but the toys for it hadn't come out yet. I also have the C3PO from the 'flashback' line which has one arm that comes off and he's crusted with 'sand' to make him look like he's been attacked by the Tusken Raider in Episode 4. The 'flashback' cards are neat because they have the pull down tab on the card picture that shows the classic trilogy version, then switches to the Episode 1 version of the character when you pull on it. They aren't sealed anymore because I've posed the figures that were in them, but the bubble is intact enough that I can tape it shut when I want to display the figures on the card.

    The 8D8 and EV-9D9 figures were initially available as Sears exclusives in 1983 and 1984 respectively, in their two Jabba Dungeon exclusives.

    Cool ! droids are awesome, i would place the better looking R2-D2 sensor scope in the display case it"s nice and will look awesome.

      I think you are right Marco! I Al probably going to buy an already graded R2 sensorscope to be safe :). Thanks for watching my friend!

    My best guess is that it is a 75. Finding nice R2-D2s can be tough. Great video!

      Yea I think you are right! I may just send it in as a test lol. But I’d rather buy an already graded one perhaps! Thanks for watching rancor!

    Hi Joey, great episode! Superb seeing all the droids and background info! I always thought Jack Purvis played the gonk Droid so it was really interesting to learn that it was actually Rusty Goffe. I think you should definitely display the better condition R2-D2 sensor scope in your display case as its a lovely loose example of this figure and will look fantastic in the case! Kind regards Gary 🙂

    • @thepadawancollectorofficial
      @thepadawancollectorofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Gary!!! Yea I’ve been really going back and forth on that R2. It is good enough for at least an 80 if I grade, but I think you are right. But if I send in a big grade shipment to CAS I may just send it in as I’m curious to what it will score. So maybe I’ll experiment with that. I’m too curious lol.

    Nice vid, Joey! I only got the droid factory for the three legged r2!
    In fact, it was the only figure I ever built out of the whole set. I still have that set in perfect complete condition! Another thing to look out for is the condition of the chrome on the shinys as that can be a nightmare for rubbing off!
    Anyway, looking forward to your next vid, and soldier on...

      Wow that’s an awesome piece! That’s awesome that you have all the set together! I would love to pick that up someday. But after this full run lol. That’s for the kind words and taking the time to comment as well David! MTFBWY!

    Awesome Joey. Love all the droids figures. R2 was always my favourite. Never knew R2 pop up existed until I started collecting again in the early 90s. Because the tri logo cards didn’t have the last 17 on the card backs. Lovely R2 you picked up. Think it is grading worthy. I reckon you could get an 80+ . Cheers Joey

      Thanks XDD! Yea I’m really thinking about sending it in. I am about to do an episode where I do some major experiments in grading yourself vs buying already graded. Mostly a comparison on prices and how much the cost saving are between the two, and the pros and cons of both. Should be interesting to do.

    Well you got me heading to my cabinet to look at my 2-1B to see if I had the extra bolt variant scenario on the claw you mentioned, and what do you know? Both of mine has this 'extra bolt' you mentioned.
    Loved your fact about the Tippet Studio miniature of the Karthon Chop Fields walker being based on the droid factory, really cool and fun 👌
    The Probe Droid over here in the UK was a mail-away for me, such a cool piece...
    Loved this video Joey, learned quite a bit 👍

      I didn’t know the probe droid was a mail away in the UK that’s cool! Do you remember what that was advertised in??

    • @MartinFutter70
      @MartinFutter70 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @thepadawancollectorofficial You've got me thinking, I don't remember it being on a carded figure offer - might have been through a comic advertisement, which Dengar was also available over here.
      I'm checking the facts with a few others as to how it was claimed. I will let you know when I find out.
      Sadly, my 53 year old brain doesn't work as good as it should

    T.P.C. I want to thank you for the tip on 21B…there is no better feeling as a collector when you think you have a double, only to find out you actually have the VARIANT!!!!

      Dude that’s awesome that you found that variant!! I’m stoked you found both of them :). And the droids Playset one is a loop hole, so you pretty much got all of them!!! But now you can get your friends on trivia!!!!
