I highly recommend you watch this video th-cam.com/video/WZ0iCqpQSck/w-d-xo.html I feel like it very nicely summarizes the growth of Hinata and the beauty of his last few receives in this episode. This creator also has some other really good analyses of Haikyu.
Someone once pointed this out to me but the words "this position, this timing, this angle" harkens back to Karasuno's match against Aoba Johsai. At the end of the first match Kageyama sets Hinata with those exact words and it got blocked just like this. Now they're on the other side of that situation and everything comes full circle. It's just one of the many poetic parts of Haikyuu.
Also to what Tsukishima said about Hinata and Kageyamabeing the only two to predict the play: in the moment where the yellow undertone comes in, the flashes to Tanaka, Tsukishima, Daichi, and Asahi are the moments they all realized what was about to happen, but even during Osamu’s approach, you’ll see Hinata and Kageyama already in position for the quick (the scene before where Daichi was getting up you see where Kageyama realized and rushed over to Hinata’s side)
@@jencedrickaranas217 You're right and wrong. It's said when they first do the quick, in episode 24 when they do it against Aoba Josai and lose, AND here. To me, this line represents the arrogance of the freak quick. Thinking that just because the position, timing, and angle are perfect that it will be unstoppable. Kageyama and Hinata have already learned this lesson from their bitter defeat against Aoba Josai, but the Miya Twins have yet to and get drunk on the power of the quick
Inarizaki's motto is "we dont need the memories" The irony lies in the fact that Hinata and Kageyama blocked the twin's last attack just the same way they got blocked in the first official game against Seijoh which means they only succeeded through memories. That's why Tsukki said "Speed is good, but it's not invincible. They knew that a little better than everyone else."
I don’t think this is right because their philosophy is in terms of nostalgia and this moment is different because of growth they took that moment where they lost and turned it into experience, experience that inarizaki lacked
@@gabrielsousa959 Nah, it's actually very accurate because this entire match, particularly this scene, has been directly challenging the blindspot in the motto of Inarizaki and the twins who embody the quote. Kita has already mentioned before he doesn't agree with their motto because there are a lot of memories and past experiences that make who they are today, and now Karasuno has hit that nail on the coffin by blocking the same quick that was once stopped by Seijoh. Now this will become a learning experience for Inarizaki. It's all one very poetic narrative
@@아뤼-g3c I still don’t think so because of the statement that they said ( I don’t know how many episodes ago) earlier “We don’t need the memories because they have already turned in to our muscles” which comes after atsumo (blonde hair) saying that not only did he not remember what place they reached last year and that it didn’t matter because they were competing again this year
@@gabrielsousa959 Yup! It's a little bit of both. On one hand there is definitely truth in the motto and what Atsumu said about last year's results not necessarily reflecting in this year's. It's also the basis behind his bold guts to spontaneously try new things like the freak quick he's never done in practice. However on the flip side, it does still create a blindspot that Kita and Karasuno jab at. It's been a very intentional storytelling to tell 2 different perspectives of the same quote and why I love Inari's team concept so much lol
That last point with Hinata and Kageyama sharing the block on the minus tempo quick is very poetic. A call back to their loss to Seijoh in season 1 having their freak quick blocked on their last point. And experiencing the block and their quick not being invincible as Tsukki put it, and them learning to be the ones to end this game on that block.
@@ElevateYourselfOfficial the words that atsumu said during the set is the exact same as the words kageyama said during that final point. Karasuno had to learn the hard way that the freak quick isn't invincible, a lesson that inarizaki hadn't learned until that final point.
I love how this episode is the culmination of everyone's journey from the beginning. Most people also forget that Inarizaki came 2nd in the last Summer Inter-High Nationals (the one Shiratorizawa qualified to at the end of Season 1, after beating Seijoh). Karasuno pulled off an absolute upset for all those who don't know what they went through. Firstly, the Hinata and Kageyama block on the minus tempo quick is super poetic as that was how they lost to Seijoh in season 1. Tsuki also shows all of his newfound passion for Volleyball by diving, even though he is incredibly tired. Tanaka takes that leap from being just aggressive and loud to being composed with a rebound setback (and that line shot last episode). Asahi moves forward from just being that "tall strong guy". And of course, who could forget Hinata's recieve and high first-touch. Hinata, who has always been about speed, is ready to face the 2nd best high school team head-on. There is so much involved in their win, and I love Tsuki's commentary at the end about how "everyone was surprised, but we weren't" because they knew the hardships firsthand. Brilliant episode. Also excellent work from your team, Coach! If I remember correctly, you talked about them beating James Logan before, but the result still should be praised. They did what Oikawa couldn't against a dominant rival. We're proud of all of them, and you too, Coach!
I CAN'T BELIEVE WE FINISHED THE SEASON MATCH. This season match is so much more amazing than the vs Shiratori season in my opinion and 100% agree with what you said
Spoilers for manga in this response: Ah but you see, Hinata still has one lesson left to learn, one that will be taught after the grueling match against Kamomedai at the quarterfinals. Because after going all out for nearly 6 full sets counting both matches, what takes him out was recklessness. Had he rested, slept or eaten something in between the matches, he probably wouldn’t have gotten that fever, and karasuno wouldn’t have collapsed after losing its strongest blocker to Injury and fastest attacker to sickness, and lost. Hinata still has to learn self-care
I think it's easy to overlook because of everything coming after it, but I love Tsukishima funneling the hit to Hinata. It's such a great moment, specifically because it's these two, who have bickered with each other since day 1, finally acknowledging and trusting the other (though silent and begrudgingly of course haha). One other thing that I didn't hear you mention is Asahi's comment about how, even though he is jealous of the first years who will get to keep hitting Kageyama's sets, he also feels sorry for them. To have flawless sets come to you time and time again is great, but it also adds an incredible amount of pressure - how could you do any less than score with a perfect set? It's like what Tanaka said about Kageyama trusting him before he hit his line shot - it's not just encouragement, it's a threat of trust; show the other team why I'm setting you. Also, fun fact since you mentioned the soundtrack, the name of the track that starts playing just after Tsukki serves Aran short is "Anti-Miracle", going along with what Coach Ukai said about not needing any miracles. That whole scene did such a fantastic job of conveying the stress and panic of speed, with the edges of the screen darkening steadily over time, Kageyama falling over after setting Tanaka, Suga and Yamaguchi yelling "One more, one more!" It all creates such an atmosphere of panic that it makes the bright, shining light when Hinata sets the ball high that much more refreshing. Also I love that you picked up on the "Let's take it easy" callback from part 1 of season 4! That was Hyakuzawa he said that to originally.
tsukki funneling the ball to hinata is probably my favorite moment in the season, its the culmination of tsukkis arc and a reiteration of how much hinatas improved! back in s1 tsukki thought his role in the team was just to "keep trouble from happening while [hinata] is rotated in the back", now hes come to trust and respect both his teammates and his abilities!
That Azumane part was one of my fav scenes of this episode. It showed how he respects him and how remarkable he is as a setter. Dateko setter reacting to Kageyama's toss was for me the cherry on top.
Man, the final scene of this match is such a poetic moment: Hinata and Kageyama using the worst defeat they ever went through, when they lost to Seijoh in season 1, and using it in their favor to beat Inarizaki. Tsukki's words were so perfect, when he said that our two boys knew better than anyone else that speed was a great weapon, but not an invincible one, and it shows the parallel between the Miya twins and them: Hinata and Kageyama knew that the twins would use the minus tempo attack in the end, just like Oikawa knew that they'd use it during their second match against them. They literally blocked together the same weapon they'd created themselves. It shows how brilliant the writing in this show is. Also, my second fave moment is the "take it easy" one, when Hinata used what he learned during his time as a ball boy to help Hyakuzawa, using it now to help his own teammates instead. No wonder mama Suga and Daichi understood just how far Hinata has come from those early days when all he cared about was being the coolest spiker. Our little Shoyo is growing up!
I love the final quick so much, because it mirrors the first season. "This position. This timing. This angle. Perfect!" is what Kageyama not only says when they FIRST ever did the freak quick, but also during the final play of the Aoba Johsai match that they lost in the first season. The exact reverse situation, a team putting everything on the minus tempo quick, but this time Hinata and Kageyama were the ones able to block it. Just pure poetry. I've been waiting to watch you watch this for so long! Not disappointed!!!!
I don't know if it's intentional or not, and not so poetic as this. But the point immediately before the last. Kageyama dumps the ball and looks at Atsumu{?}, and the screen fades to Osamu's green (the same green hue background used when they were using "twin sense") Meaning Atsumu was already planning on using the freak quick from that point on. Just a tiny bit of foreshadowing, that seemed super small, but also super cool to me! Could me Osamu just "mentally" calling for the ball too. OR both wanting to do it!
During the quick sequence when Ukai told the team to slow down, the screen is also darkening from each corner of the frame. It's getting even darker, slowly blurring our view to the players, referring to how the speed is a curse, that strangle us, to make us viewers got the feelings of that curse of speed. And then, when Hinata says "All right!" and pass the ball up high as the first touch, so does the screen lightens up into normal brightness, symboling "Just take it easy," as Hinata already learned and taught that to Hyakuzawa in early episodes of season 4. Also as we all have known, Hinata all this time being "The Sun" to brightens up the team's mood, and he did it again to make his team slow down and take it easy. Indeed, this episode and the whole rallies are just amazing!
The whole "being lucky to have been invited to the monsters' ball" is one of the many ways Haikyuu just makes you appreciate even those moments in life you might not be fond of originally, and that's one of the reasons why it's such a feel-good show
Underrated moment for me is Asahi's dialogue before hitting Kageyama's beautiful set from the back row. As what Kogane says "its beautiful." It is and Asahi just appreciates that very beautiful set with jealousy on the first years and second years on their team and the future players to come and play with Kageyama, but at the same time he feels sorry for them as they're gonna be forced to step it up in Kageyama's level to hit those beautiful sets and score.
- "incomplete spike" that Futakuchi says refers to the fact that Asahi was trying this delayed timing spike just recently at their practice game, and it wasn't going well, but somehow he managed to get it right by Nationals; - "best high school setter, my ass!" - Osamu actually isn't thinking about Kageyama here, he's pissed that Atsumu is "mentally regressing" and getting stupidly excited about the opponents' combination x)
Isn't it Atsumu being his own critic in 2? I always read it like Atsunu telling it to hinself "Best Setter my ass, I gotta be better if I want to be the best."
@@OnizukaKakashi Nah, it’s Osamu being pissed off at Atsumu. You can tell by comparing their demeanours during the play, Osamu is mad, while Atsumu is having the time of his life
I think even more than his great receive, this episode shows Hinata's growth more than anything else. Not only did he take his own advice that he gave from getting to watch as a ball boy, showing that he does get to use his brain some, but on top of that, Hinata's whole thing is speed. And yet, when his whole team is going fast, trying so hard, Hinata is the one to think to slow down. He really has grown so much. Also, another awesome note, the words that Atsumu thought on the final play, the "This position, this timing, this angle, perfection!" were the same ones Kageyama thought on the final play in Karasuno's loss to Seijoh in season 1! The parallels!
It's such a tiny detail, but I love it how both Atsumu distinguishes between "having trust/faith in each other" and "just thinking [knowing] that the ball will come/the spiker will be there" when describing Hinata's and Kageyama's combination, admiring how natural it is for them to always give 100%. Funnily enough, Osamu asking "what's so weird about that?" is so well-placed here - because those are exactly the words Osamu used to describe his own combination with Atsumu, too. "I don't really trust Tsumu, but I don't need that. I know the ball will come". A yet another parallel between Kageyama&Hinata and Atsumu&Osamu, showing how their relationships mirror one another in quite a few ways. Asahi "feeling sorry" for the spikers who'll be hitting Kageyama's tosses from now on - a yet another reference to Kageyama's "threat of trust" style of play from the previous episode, with him putting his absolute trust in his spikers and giving them his all in an intense, [royally] demanding way.
Atsumu was thinking poetically, Osamu was thinking practically. Sumu is there being dramatic and moved. Samu is unimpressed and unamused. It's kind of hilarious, really
The voice actors for Haikyuu by the way are some of the best in the business. Miyano Mamoru, Miya Atsumu's actor, is well known for these bombastic, off the wall characters with crazy voice inflections and tones, and he SLAMS Atsumu's crazed almost silly love for volleyball. He's my 2nd favorite actor in the business, 2nd only to Uchiyama Kouki who voices Tsukki. I'm glad you clued in on Tsukki's narration this episode. Uchiyama Kouki's serene, almost dream like accent makes these internal monologue moments just absolutely beautiful.
Random fact when you rewatch: If you ever wondered why the jersey's have a picture of a foot on it followed by the letters "ics", its to represent the Japanese sporting company ASICS. Foot in Japanese is Ashi, which combined with "ics" gives you "Ashics" or the Japanese pronounciation for ASICS. For obvious reasons, they couldn't use the actual ASICS logo on the player's jersey's so this was a creative and approproate way to get around it from the start.
One episode left in this journey, its been great rewatching this with your reactions. Cant wait for the rewatch and will do, ill let you know about the soundtrack. Normally intros are split into half of the total episodes, so for this one since theres 25, it started the new one at 13.
"𝑰 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅, 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏'𝒕" Just for reference, that last part of Tsuki's line hits pretty hard. When he said that the quick was not invincible and that they knew that, it was referring all the way back to S1 match with Seijoh, even with the ultimate duo KageHina used the quick, it was block by seijoh and they weren't able to save it. It's an interesting parallel with the twins genuinely believing that their twin quick is fool proof and unstoppable that's exactly what we felt in S1 before they reinvented the quick, and that is why that was the perfect end to this fabulous game. The writing in this show is really amazing. Now that Karasuno won, the most awaited "Battle at the Garbage Dump" is finally here with cats vs. crows.
So at 15:22 there is a scene missing from the manga, where the training camp assistant coach was commenting on Hinata's development on receiving. When he had his first big receive he was wandering if Hinata had just a moment of luck or a fluke, but after this one he apologizes to him in his mind saying that Hinata is definitely not a fluke
13:40 This is basically Spiker's version of "Get the damn point". Atsumu knows his tosses are top tier and any spiker who can't score with those are just bad, which basically gives him a full reign over court as a setter. But since Hinata jumps with full intention to hit a ball, he is basically demanding ball to come his way, which put a lot of pressure on Setter, who is already trying to give best tosses they can. "You'll bring me the toss i want, don't you?". And Osamu's remark is basically an admition that he's been doing same to Atsumu. Also Kageyama reacting this way is because previous toss wasn't good, but Hinata still scored and didn't even care that toss was bad, which made Hinata a better player in this combination, which made Kageyama very conscious about his plays. Hinata pretty much forced Kageyama to play better and by giving a better toss next time he "won" since he got back his authority as a setter with a good toss.
The Monster's Ball is one of my favorite chapters/episodes I've ever experienced. SO many emotions, so much adrenaline. It's so good. Daichi's save, Tsukki's narration, the OST. Everything is SO good. I'm so glad I got to watch you react to this
The little call backs in this episode that Furudate inputs small details that we usually don't think are impactful but later prove to be so important: 1. "I think everyone is surprised. But we weren't" 2. "we're not looking for miracles" -it reminds us of Kita's mentality, you don't feel nervous because these things you've routinely done and practiced. Who needs miracles when all are hardwork should payed off. 3. The commentary highlighting how libero, blockers, spikers, setters basically EVERYONE has to work hard. "The view from the top. A scenery I will never be able to see on my own. But if i'm not alone, then... I just might be able to see it"
There are 3 important moments here that make this episode one of the greatest in the entire series. 1) When Tsukki funnelled the Rintaro's spike to Hinata, Tsukki put all his trust in Hinata to be there in the right position at the right time. This proves that Tsukki respects and truly trusts Hinata since he was the only person present observing Hinata's growth during the 1st years' training camp. 2) In the last match point when Karasuno was rushing their sets and swallowed up in panic, they were moving in one breath. Animators were trying to show they were suffocating under the pressure to be faster. You can even see their visions narrowing. Hinata realising this, remembered from his training to "take it easy" and passed a high ball. You can also see the other players visibly taking a breath. Lastly, with the insane minus tempo Miya Twins' quick attack, Atsumu shouted out, "This position... This timing... This angle... It's perfect". Those were the same words uttered by Kageyama in the first series in their match point against Aoba Josai when he set a minus tempo set to Hinata and lost the game. Hence, it all makes sense when Tsukki said those words at the end, "Speed is a very, very strong weapon. It's very charming and cool. But it's not invincible. They knew that a little better than everyone else." Hope these small details help you to appreciate this amazing series even more.
For me, the following are the scenes that stand out the most in terms of bgm: - Tanaka's super sharp cross after feeling down - Hoshiumi's montage in the tournament - Tsukishima's block vs Ushijima - Tsukishima being told off my Yamaguchi - Hinata's first proper recieve against Aran - The final rally of the Aoba Josai rematch game
-I think Tanaka's cross has the best music in the show. #1 -I never paid any mind to the music during that scene but it is actually really hype. #4 -What music? lmao this is my favorite scene in the show and I love that it's silent until the celebration. #? -Yamaguchi's 'sense of pride' scene has quality music. Not hype, but very well composed. #5 -Again, good very appropriate for the scene, not in my top 5 though. #7 -Hype, 2nd best on the soundtrack. #2
We are all Suga after watching this episode aren't we? 😭 What an amazing ending to an amazing match. I don't usually notice OSTs as much as everyone else but man they are FIRE in this one!!! The main highlight for me is the one track that they used often early on, with the guitar?, that was also shown a bit more in the preview, it has this confidence of the establish teams and feels like they are in the flow of fun instead of the previous 3 seasons that felt like yearning, pushing, and antagonistic. Overall, I think what the anime run of this match solidified for me was that this match wasn't supposed to be some big war/fight against seemingly impassable foe (like Shiratorizawa -fighting someone who is so high at top). What really drove home for me was that Inarizaki and Karasuno are quite similar- the strongest contenders vs. the strongest challengers 🤩
Suga, remembering all the times training Hinata to receive when he just wants to spike, seeing Hinata dig one ball after another. Of course we're all crying
What I find the most beautiful and poetic and yet sad in this episode it the reflexion of the last point ball in Kita's eye. He's a 3rd year, it's his first year as a titular, it's the last competition of the year, it's his last game. And seeing the lose of his team literaly through his eye is just beautiful and heart breaking
I love how Coach Ukai narrates that too much speed can make players blind, and the animators show exactly that during the last sequence. You probably didn’t notice but while there was a close up on every players face as the twins were performing the last quick they did not show Hinata or Kagayama. To us and the players it seemed like they just appeared to block the ball out of nowhere. This is to show that the twins were so blinded by the speed of the freak quick that they didn’t even notice the block forming until it was too late, just like Hinata and Kagayama didn’t notice the block until it was too late against Seijoh in season one. This is the exact opposite to the last point against Seijoh in season two when we as the audience see a close up of the block being formed, showing that Hinata and Kagayama have learned how to see even when going so fast. I love the evolution throughout the entire series.
This episode is just… *sigh*. The day they announce season 5, it doesn’t matter that I’ve already read the manga. I’m gonna probably cry, I sincerely just love this show so much. Thank you so much inviting us along for the journey with you coach!!
What’s super exciting about the last point is the fact that no one on Karasunos team was ready to dig their quick. It might have been missed because you were admiring the animation and poetry but after Tanaka’s blocked spike, Tsukki and Daichi both layout to return the ball over the net and they were both at the base line. So Tanaka who was finishing his spike plus Daichi and Tsukki all the way at the back of the court and Asahi playing opposite. The twins had the whole court to just smash it and win. But Hinata and Kageyama, being the competitors they are with their quick sets, knew the twins were going to do a quick and blocked them. I also like how all the teams are just in shock this whole match at how much Hinata has grown
What I personally really like with that final point, is how it's Hinata and Kageyama ends up blocking the attack the twins copied from them. Throughout season 1 and 2, it was almost Hinata's only way to fight and compete. With him finally blocking that same attack who made him be able to play, it shows that he has moved past that. And just as we saw with that insane dig in the 22nd episode, he no longer needs Kageyama to be able to play.
The best part about this show at least for me is that every game honestly feels like they have a good chance of losing and the tension is always insanely high. I’ve read the manga and already knew how this game was gonna play out but for me it one of the few team sports anime that can make it feel like the main team could still lose no matter how many times you watch/read it
exactly, they actually lost to Aoba Johsai once too, so you can feel that's possible to happen again (and if you read the manga, even when you fell the they are winning, they can lose too "just saying, if Shoyou was okay..")
I remember when I was a junior/senior in high school on the softball team I was asked to help a freshman with their batting because my coach believed it would be easier for her to understand if another player helped her out. I could tell she didn’t fully believe that I could help because she thought that I was naturally a decent hitter, so I ended up pulling up a video of me at a betting lesson from a few years prior and proved to her that she actually was batting better than I was when I was a freshman. I had to put in hard work and effort to get to where I was and after that she loosened up and I got to see her progress throughout the year as she put new techniques to use. It was honestly one of my best memories of high school softball.
That last twins quick all that sequence leading to "Its angle... Its perfect!" just gives me chills, I've seen this scene over a hundred times. I was waiting to see you react to it.
The comment section of coach's reactions is great, everyone has something to talk, some experience to share, even hough I watched the series multiple times there's always some detail that went over my head, or a different interpretation of a scene, what a great community this has become.
Same thing happened to me when I was a kid. Growing up, people kept praising for my good english (it was decent, I wouldn't say I was fluent) despite none of my family speak english, until in college when people shoved me to translate them some stuff and saying "I couldn't be like you, you're gifted". Dude, like I learn to speak english since I was 4 and never stop teaching myself. It's rude to just dismissed all of my hardwork for the past 24 years
This game is just amazing, one of the best in the series. Also, get ready coach, because when season 5 comes there will be some even more amazing moments to make you freak out. I remember recently seeing in the Haikyuu subreddit the question of which set is the single best set from a match out of all the sets played in Haikyuu, and the second set from the next game was one of the most frequent answers. So there are some amazing things to come
@@ElevateYourselfOfficial next season is insane. I still don't know exactly how much they will cover, but I know that, at the least, it will cover one of the most epic games of the series. Also, coach, be very careful of spoilers right now, there are some special Haikyuu events going on for the manga's 10th anniversary, including a bonus manga chapter that was recently published and a colab with V-league all stars that will include sime form of broadcast relating to the manga, and it's been trending a lot, so there are lots of huge spoilers put ther atm
Next season is likely to be the best in the series in my opinion (though that depends on how good of a job the animation studio does on it, but the potential is there).
@@KoroftheSon for me it also depends on how they do it. SPOILER ALERT (DON'T READ COACH) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Will they do just the Nekoma game or the Kamonedai game as well?
This episode is so good ive been waiting for it. From Tsuki trusting Hinata to pick up the ball after he funnels it, to Hinata with the high pass letting his team take it easy, to Tsuki diving for a ball, to the entire final rally is just so intense I never get bored of it. I'm so happy you picked up on it, to see tsuki dive for a ball after where he was mentally at the beginning of the show is so insane. Its not a very flashy moment but it just shows how far hes come and how invensted he is now in the team that he can put that much effort into the game. And that final rally ending with hinata and kageyama blocking the twins quick, seeing the ball hit the ground through kitas eye reflection, and tsukis whole inner monologue after it was all over just gives me goosebumps everytime. That final rally is probably my favorite moment in the entire show. Oh and the music during the final rally has got to be my favorite song from the show as well, goosebumps everytime.
I actually cried out loud when Hinata said, "all right" and just silent. Just that one moment demonstrates how far he has progressed from the first episode until now. All the criticism, all the losses, all the hard work has been paid back in just this very simple moment. He is always the one who calms everyone down when they have a tough match, and here he is again, just smiling so brightly and getting the ball so easily and fluently, completely different from the Hinata from the beginning. I just love him so much!!
I absolutely love Hinata's "take it easy" moment in this episode. Many people love to talk about him sneaking into the 1st year's camp in the beginning of the season being "cringe" or so embarrassing they can't watch it... I think that's bull. Yeah, he took a risk and deal with a lot of embarrassment and humiliation because he did that, but look at all he learned. From being a better receiver to other aspects of the game that he hadn't previously thought about. He learned SO much and it made Karasuno a stronger team. I also love Yahaba pounding on the table, yelling at the tv near the end of the game. It always struck me as such a "real" thing that people do when watching sports.
Man this last point always tears me up. Slowly but surely the pace accelerate and the screen goes slightly darker and darker, then comes the "savior", Hinata lifting up the ball very high. The screen instantly becomes white, refreshing, liberating. You're feeling the pressure, the suffering and then the liberation. Then you can hear every single Karasuno players breathe, "taking this easy". I feel this whole part is really well done, and hearing the Hintata's "all right" every time snap me out of the whole pressure im feeling just before. It's beatiful.
25:34 coach. I hope you noticed the screen that the animation gets darker as they try to speed up/hurry up the play and lose their breaths until it brightens up when hinata made a up in the air receive to "Take it easy" and make the team catch a breath. and the fact that in the beginning, of the seasons, all he thinks about it just being a spiker who just keeps on hitting and throughout all of the training and learning, he became a great receiver .
It's quite disappointing that he didn't understand the significance of that scene. Coach Ukai was yelling "Slow down,. slow down" while everyone was in a rush and then Hinata yelled out "Got it!" and bumped the ball really high. This bump and the dig from 4x22 is the huge payoff of Hinata's training arc this season.
and to say that this game..karasuno v inarizaki is just round 2 of a single elimenation tournament just makes you wonder how crazy the next games would be.
My favorite scene is when the screen is narrowing and becoming dark and in comes Hinata, (often referred to the sun versus Tsukis moon) our little ray of sunshine and brightens the screen. Makes me emotional every time.
10:45 "Hope and despair just keep chasing each other" is such an incredible way to describe the rotation system in volleyball. As someone who used to play the sport it feels soo true whenever you experience those feelings, having the best server on your team score aces or having to face opponets best rotation while the game is just a point away.
It's not as dramatic as his block on Ushikawa, but I personally think this is the episode that best highlights Tsuki's growth. His two big scenes - his trust in Hinata to catch Rinatro's reverse-cross and then him diving for a ball he had no chance of saving alone. I could rewatch this episode all day. Kita also puts succinctly what separates contenders from champions. When the going is tough, contenders are thinking about how hard it is. Champions are looking for their chance to be the hero.
The short montage after Hinata's high receive and Sugawara thinking back to how he was the 1st season really gets to me. All he ever wanted to do was spike, nonstop. Now here he is with not only a clean receive, but with the foresight to make it high so that his team can catch their breath and reset properly. That's the true growth of Hinata, how he's not just in love with spiking, he's in love with volleyball.
"This too is volleyball" That's why that is such a moving line. Hinata is not just about speed, jumping, spiking. He is playing the whole game. Ahhh I love this sun beam so much
3:00 You talking about the commitment you went through to get here is so true, especially with Volleyball. I ended up taking up the sport a year and a half ago and I piss off others that have played for a decade because I'm "naturally good at it." I just say thanks, but it's annoying. I want to say "I didn't see you at every single drop-in in my city getting reps in." I messed up a lot, they just didn't get to see it because they were just going to the games I was playing in. I just kept going over your videos to perfect my platform or my approach, and putting it all into practice at the next drop-in. Now I'm usually the best player on a mediocre team. lol
This position, this timing, this angle. It's perfect! We first hear this from Kageyama, on the 3x3 against Daichi, Tsuki and Yamaguchi. And, more prominently, in the last play against Aoba Josai, where they lost because Oikawa blocked them. The quick is an amazing tool. It's fast, it's flashy, it's intimidating. But it is not unstoppable. Of course Kageyama and Hinata know that most of all. The Miya twins fell for the allure of the quick, ans were defeated by the creators of it, using the sting of their defeat against Seijo to win now against Inarizaki. Amazing storytelling. Amazing character development. This hype can rival any battle anime, no cap.
Its just so fitting that the masters of insanely fast quicks, were able to tell that Atsumu and Osamu were going for an extremely fast quick from the back even. This is why I love Haikyuu. This is probably one of my favorite matches from the series and there's still plenty of good ones to come!
Everyone explained already how poetic that last block was but I also want to add how this is a "BUT..." to Inarizaki's motto. "We don't need the memories" but the twins got blocked on their last quick because they didn't have the experience with the quick that Kageyama and Hinata did. They fell into the same trap of doing the quick because it's really fast and cool without realizing that it's not invincible. Kageyana and Hinata worked all this time on developing how they use their quick based on the frustration they felt losing to Aoba Johsai.
The fact that hinata changed the rythm of the exchanges from super fast to slow by bumping the ball high and let his team regroup and breathe. That was an awesome character development. From a simpleton who only wants to spike and flashy plays into a calm and collective mature player.
Suga cried because in season 1, if I remember this correctly, he was the first person who accompanies Hinata when he was training alone during lunch break. Hinata always played alone in his middle school years, his friends that helped him to make a team are coming from different sport clubs (basketball, tennis, and soccer). So it's like seeing your kid grow. And, Suga is usually called 'Sugamama' in the fan world. And I don't know if someone has mentioned this before in the comment section, but there is a detail that when they are playing fast and aggressive, the scene has a vignette on it. So it conveys the 'suffocating'-ness of the scene. Then when Hinata received it and did a high pass, the scene turned white. It's like he's 'relieving' the whole team from the suffocating and frustrating last few minutes of the game, when everyone is already feeling so fatigue. I cannot believe it's already coming to an end, I followed you since season 1 reaction and always always looked forward to the weekend for your weekly reaction. Cannot wait for your reaction to the next episode, Coach!
I think its great that the last point was won with a beautiful block and not a spike. Again showing that in volleyball, all aspects are important. What a great anime.
Hey coach, you’ve probably heard this tons of times already, but the final point was just such a great full circle moment that it’s hard not to comment. First would be the “We don’t need the memories” flashes at the end. We’ve been taught to believe that Inarizaki’s strength was in not dwelling on the past and pushing forward, and it’s certainly helped them well. But it’s precisely the memories of the past that allowed karasuno to win. This is because karasuno lost in exactly the same way to Aoba Johsai in season 1, and learned very early that simply being fast isn’t enough. By harnessing the memory of that loss, and using the lessons of it to better themselves, kageyama and Hinata were able to predict that the twins would gamble their entire game on the quick set, and rushed to block what would otherwise be a completely unreactable play. It’s as if they were playing against their past selves in that moment. This is what Tsukki meant at the end when he said that speed isn’t invincible, and that “those two” (hinata and kageyama) knew that just a little bit better than anyone else. He knew why they were the only ones who would have known where the ball was going to be, and be there to stop it.
I never really knew or cared about volleyball but watching this anime made me realize how fun it is to watch. I rewatched the game winning scene at the end so many times. It's a very emotional moment.
One of my favorite shots of the episode is of Kenma and Kuroo after Karasuno wins. When we’ve seen Kenma throughout the game he’s been smiling/happy for karasuno and Hinata cause they’re doing well but here their expressions are so different. Realizing that the Karasuno they’re about to play in the next round is not the Karasuno they’ve played in the past - now having beat the second best team in Japan. Maybe not expecting to even have to play them but now thinking that maybe they’re the underdogs and not Karasuno as it was previously. Can’t wait for season 5 the next match is gonna be so good!!!
Can we all just appreciate Mamoru Miyano's (Atsumu, and Light Yagami from Death Note) voice acting for that final twin minus tempo quick? Good God, the intensity.
I've been here since season 1 and it was so cool to see you grow to love this show that we all love so much. It made me watch real volleyball. I know more now then I did before. Thank you Coach!
The “Go back! Go back!” always gets me every time from Aoba Johsai. Sometimes I forget if they’re playing volleyball or saving the world. I believe that was their first time winning with a block point ever since they first lost by Aoba Johsai by a block point, same exact quotes by the both setters. But now they have the Miyagi prefecture teams watching their matches as fans!! It’s kind of poetic how this series is going a whole circle and how every thing they worked for was this match. Glad everything happened and worked, can’t wait til season 5!!
"Go back! Go back!" is so hype because we the audience, like the players, know exactly what's gonna happen: it's a free ball, and Atsumu is going to capitalize on that opportunity, with both Aram and Osamu on the front row. There's nothing to say except "go back! Go back!" But of course the block is already forming. Our two best boys are right there!
Tanaka’s line shot has the track “The Threat of Trust”, one of my favorite Haikyuu osts. My other favorite is “The Twins Quick” which plays in the rally before Hinata’s receive. Both these moments have incredible music and I’d love to see you go back and have a listen!
The last sequence was perfect. From the call back to the dialogue when hinata and kageyama couldn't score the point during their seijo match in s1, to the music, to the editing, and to the animation. And coach, you mentioned about wanting to listen to soundtracks, I can't think of the episode and timings, but the soundtracks "level 1 ball boy" and "birth of the serene king" are AMAZING!
Hinata’s character growth from the flashbacks of “just wanting to spike” to now being excited about everything in the game, especially his receives, makes me feel how Suga felt when he was about to cry.
Kita's Monster's Ball speech is one of my favourite monologues in all of Haikyuu and the theme of this "Monster Generation" becomes more and more prevalent as the series goes on. I'm so glad you enjoyed it too! Fun fact about the rally that ends with Asahi's blockout: the track that plays in the background during this rally is called "Hunger is Contagious" which is a callback to Osamu's monologue last episode about how Hinata plays volleyball like he's enjoying a good meal, and how that hunger spreads to his teammates. But in addition to that the composer, Yuki Hayashi said about the song "So what happens if two interesting teams end up playing each other? I think it's perfect for the climax of the game." And this final rally is probably my favourite one that's been animated so far. Of course there's the amazing callback of Atsumu saying the exact same line as Kageyama during the first Seijoh match and both Kageyama and Hinata learning from that defeat to win here, but one of my favourite things about this final point is the character-by-character flash of Inarizaki's "we don't need the memories" banner right before Atsumu sets the ball. Yes this point proved that speed isn't the end all be all and that's the lesson that Hinata and Kageyama have learned from experience, but to me that showing of the banner was like a last defiant shout of Inarizaki's philosophy, and how Atsumu and Osamu continue to constantly challenge themselves to try new things and improve even if they're backed into a corner. They're honestly two of my favourite characters in the series. Tsukki's save was incredible too. He's someone who described volleyball as "just a club" before. Karasuno was up by 1 point, they wouldn't have lost if they dropped that ball. The old Tsukki probably would have shrugged it off and been like "it's not worth the effort" but now he's making a diving one handed save and ends up buying enough time for Daichi to send the ball back over. I absolutely love his growth.
Tsukishima saying that Hinata better be there behind to receive never fails to give me goosebumps. Watching this again, it reminds me of the Sun and the Moon. Hinata was kind of shining at the back of Tsukki and the light is reflecting on Tsukki to me, it means that without the Sun (Hinata) helping the moon (Tsukki) that point wouldn't be possible. Just like how the moon wouldn't shine bright without the light reflected from the sun.
It's a small thing compared to all the other incredible things that happened in this episode, but I really love at 17:32 both Kageyama and Hinata are running to cover Tanaka, but Hinata quickly recognizes the opportunity for a Minus Tempo Quick and immediately whips back around for it and you see him in the air already when Kageyama ultimately sets to Asahi. It feels really similar to how Atsumu right after uses Osamu fully intent on wanting to hit as the "ultimate luxury" decoy.
The one scene that got me hyped was when Karasuno was ignoring Coach Ukai from slowing down and the animators gave a great way showing tunnel vision by blacking out the sides of the screen. And the way the tunnel vision is broken by Hinatas Take it Easy receive.
I really love Tsukki's narration at the end there. "In a battle lasting 0.1 secs, it was only these two (Hinata & Kageyama) that didn't waver even a millimeter at the twins' insanely fast attack. Speed is a very, very strong weapon. But it's not invincible. They knew that a little better than anyone else." Those lines really reflected the freak quick duo's journey. They first thought that their freak quick was so strong but still lost with that attack in S1. Thus they evolved by incorporating attacks with Hinata blending in and Kageyama's toss that "stops". They learned the hard way that speed isn't invincible and it can be stopped. That's why they were the only ones who could keep up with the very fast paced attack and block it.
I have been waiting for this for so long! So happy you loved it as much as I did! What’s cool about this last block isn’t just that it’s a call back to them relying on the quick but the fact that the Miya twins say the exact same words as when kageyama and hinata get blocked by aoba johsai. It is such a poetic way to full circle their growth and arcs but also demonstrates how far they have come and starts a new character arc for these two and we can see where they will go now past the mastery of this type of attack. I love it all! Thanks for your reactions coach Donny they really have made me happy the past 1-2 years!
Im so glad someone else finally pointed out the music. This episode has an insanly good soundtrack especially the final point. I recomend everybody to rewatch the final point and see how it goes from an intense beat to the soothing music when hinata passes (same sound as the soothing msic when he recieves against aran), back to the intense music and finally to an remix of the origional theme song of the show "above" to a new addapted version when hinata and kageyama blocked, just like how they played "battle of concepts" in the final point in shiritorizawa. The fact all of these songs fit together so nicley is insanly impressive and I often listen to the ovas like "seagulls" and "battle of concepts to get myself hyped up.
The re-watching idea is really required. I have watched Haikyuu n number of times. And everytime I watch it with rapt attention I find something I missed before. I am a huge anime lover, but haikyuu is my favorite anime even if I've never played volleyball. I love your reaction videos because not only do I get to learn more about volleyball but also love to hear your commentary on the animation and the illustration. Its such a refreshing take on anime reactions.
Coach really inspired me so much. I've been watching your YT videos to get better at volleyball. How to pass, serve, set. All if my determination and my improvements came from you. Thank you coach for these wonderful videos. And I am glad I started my Haikyuu journey with you since season 1.
I'm so happy that you enjoyed that Final Rally. It's my personal favorite moment of Haikyuu in general and it's just so beautifully done. The moment when Yahaba was banging on the table screaming to go faster just gets me hyped every time I hear it. The voice acting from him is astounding. And on the note of what episodes to pay attention to the music on... THIS ONE...ABSOLUTELY THIS ONE
12:15 this is probably one of my favorite moments in all four seasons of Haikyuu. It describes Hinata's and Kageyama's relationship so perfectly: Kageyama's intense competitiveness with Hinata, Hinata's implicit and complete trust in Kageyama, how Hinata is actually Kageyama's greatest 'opponent' in a sense (as was described earlier in the episode, how the enemy isn't the only one who can push someone the most), Kageyama's smug smirk to Hinata, and Hinata's innocent confusion regarding what he just did (which is actually pretty remarkable, Hinata believing in Kageyama almost more than Kageyama believed in himself). Not to even mention how it's a pretty great play and a good display of great teamwork, also paying off the scene from before where Kageyama was telling Hinata to 'complain about the serve' and Hinata was just like 'Why? Gimme the next one too!', which paid off in this scene, where Kageyama did indeed give Hinata the next set.
Haikyu is one of my favorite animes because after rewatching it over and over again, I would always be excited, hyped, and on the edge of my seat even though I know the outcome of every game. It just shows how well done the show is. I can never get any more hyped over a rewatch than haikyu. Coach, I hope you will feel the same way I do when you rewatch it.
Love that they won off of a Hinata dig. Not a spike, not a crazy attack, but a dig and a block from Hinata and Kageyama. It's that insanely poetic growth in their characters, and the fact that Hinata especially has grown beyond being only a decoy, or wanting only to spike. He's a more rounded player now, and it's the culmination of all of the battles they've been through on their road to nationals.
"Speed is good, but it's not invincible. They knew that a little better than everyone else." Love how they tied it from their lose against Seijoh using the quick and stopping it here!
What I loved about the scene leading up to Hinata's pass is the little details in the animation and story telling. Everyone in karasuno is rushing and tryna speed things up because they're trying to finish the match quickly with this last point. So the animators make the scene darker and harder to see to show that sometimes when you rush things you can't see everything as clear compared to when you try to relax a little and slow it down. Then when Hinata gives a nice and high pass it let's everyone know to take it easy and the animation goes bright and clear showing that it's okay and just chill out let's get ourselves together and into better positions.
Out of all the brilliant moments of this episode, Hinata's "take it easy" receive was my favorite. The fact that the boy who was so eager to spike and so hungry for the ball was the one to tell his teammates to take a breathe and relax says a lot about his maturity as a player. Suga had every right to cry, having watched Hinata grow. They could have easily written Hinata as a monster player who can't be beat, but I love the delicate and careful deliberation on how they present Hinata's flight towards becoming the Little Giant.
Hinata should be counted as a monster too. To outsiders, Hinata's endless stamina, drive to play, and unwavering trust seem unnatural. They often make references about him being a monster since season 1. First it was just from ideas circulating about how Kageyama would use Hinata as his "iron club" and that Kageyama was the monster but Hinata honing his instincts and having control of his in air combat placed him among those monsters. I think all of Karasuno seems like a monster to outsiders with how fast they progress, change and strive for more. Even at the training camp all the teams would watch in awe even though Karasuno was losing the whole time, they just kept getting better as they tried all these new things.
I remember watching some of these episodes in bed after I came home late on Fridays after playing in the marching band at my school's football games. I'd still be in my shirt and shorts I'd wear under the uniform, comfortably warm under the covers after being outside for 2 hours in the chilly Midwest late fall air. The later half of season 4 always brings me back, so thank you so much, Coach, for reacting to these episodes. I know season 4 as a whole is kinda rocky production-wise, but this is still my personal favorite season because the story's just that good. Glad you were able to stick through it. By the way, if I remember correctly, there is actually a post-credit scene in episode 25, so if you haven't been notified about that, it's a great set-up for what comes next season... whenever that is. Side note: Tsukki's narration at the end unconditionally gives me chills. "They knew that a little better than everyone else." Poetry, I tell you.
Even though Inarizaki's libero (Akagi) didn't really get much screentime or any focus in the story, but in the game this guy makes a bunch of amazing saves that really caught my attention in the end and ended up becoming one of my favorite liberos in Haikyuu.
Y'know, I've been watching since the very first episode and I have to say that this season is very special for me. Ever since my friends got me to play volleyball in middle school and introduced me to Haikyuu, I had this drive to want to jump like Hinata and spike. Now that I reached High School as a freshman with my last game tomorrow, I have to say that Volleyball shaped my entire year. I got to meet alot of amazing, strong players, new friends, and new experiences. Hinata's growth over season 4 inspired me to become much better, and playing on the court made me realize there are other things than just jumping high and getting a kill. Seeing most of the people I met go due to them being Seniors or going to play for other schools makes me sad, but I have room to grow and this hunger to keep playing volleyball.
Felt really sad that he couldn't get 'Take it Easy' moment fully. I was waiting for that one for so long but it was normal thing for him. I love that moment more then the last one.
One of my fave parts of this episode was the way they animated the part when they were going "too fast" and suffocating themselves. They added a filter or something where the corners get darker and darker, showing just how suffocating and narrow-minded and obscuring your vision is once you get TOO absorbed in the pace. I'd rewatch just for that part any time.

Makes me feel so 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I highly recommend you watch this video th-cam.com/video/WZ0iCqpQSck/w-d-xo.html I feel like it very nicely summarizes the growth of Hinata and the beauty of his last few receives in this episode. This creator also has some other really good analyses of Haikyu.
Coach, there's a short post credit scene next episode!!!
@@Intersectingstuff oh yeah lol
rewatch it in English Dub, seriously it's absolute gold
Someone once pointed this out to me but the words "this position, this timing, this angle" harkens back to Karasuno's match against Aoba Johsai. At the end of the first match Kageyama sets Hinata with those exact words and it got blocked just like this. Now they're on the other side of that situation and everything comes full circle. It's just one of the many poetic parts of Haikyuu.
Also to what Tsukishima said about Hinata and Kageyamabeing the only two to predict the play: in the moment where the yellow undertone comes in, the flashes to Tanaka, Tsukishima, Daichi, and Asahi are the moments they all realized what was about to happen, but even during Osamu’s approach, you’ll see Hinata and Kageyama already in position for the quick (the scene before where Daichi was getting up you see where Kageyama realized and rushed over to Hinata’s side)
no, it was first said on their very first freak quick set into spike on their 3v3 vs daichi, tsuki and yamaguchi
Up
Funny how "we don't need the memories" is the background of the play
Inarizaki's motto is "we dont need the memories"
The irony lies in the fact that Hinata and Kageyama blocked the twin's last attack just the same way they got blocked in the first official game against Seijoh which means they only succeeded through memories.
@@아뤼-g3c I still don’t think so because of the statement that they said ( I don’t know how many episodes ago) earlier “We don’t need the memories because they have already turned in to our muscles” which comes after atsumo (blonde hair) saying that not only did he not remember what place they reached last year and that it didn’t matter because they were competing again this year
@@아뤼-g3c honestly it could just be a difference in perspective but I do agree that it does come together in a poetic narrative.
Yes I remember when their freak quick was no longer effective and didn’t know what to do
@@ElevateYourselfOfficial the words that atsumu said during the set is the exact same as the words kageyama said during that final point. Karasuno had to learn the hard way that the freak quick isn't invincible, a lesson that inarizaki hadn't learned until that final point.
@@jimai808 agreed they learned that when they lost to seijoh
In the manga Hinata blocked it alone Kageyamas hand was behind his....
@@jimai808 Yes, but in a Kansai dialect.
Excellent analysis! I super agree on this.
I CAN'T BELIEVE WE FINISHED THE SEASON MATCH. This season match is so much more amazing than the vs Shiratori season in my opinion and 100% agree with what you said
Spoilers for manga in this response:
Ah but you see, Hinata still has one lesson left to learn, one that will be taught after the grueling match against Kamomedai at the quarterfinals.
They're literally the Dark Horse eliminating 2 of the Top 3 teams last Inter-High.
@@hugogamboas.5550 exactly, and i can't wait for that in s5 or 6 (whenever that comes). haikyuu is just chock full of life lessons
That was Hyakuzawa he said that to originally.
my favorite part of this episode was tsukis blocking vision
A threat of trust is a beautiful way to put it lol
@@mansfaye1084 It's the name of the song during Tanaka line shot
tsukki funneling the ball to hinata is probably my favorite moment in the season, its the culmination of tsukkis arc and a reiteration of how much hinatas improved! back in s1 tsukki thought his role in the team was just to "keep trouble from happening while [hinata] is rotated in the back", now hes come to trust and respect both his teammates and his abilities!
I seem to use poetic and beautiful a lot when I'm describing Haikyuu
I love the final quick so much, because it mirrors the first season. "This position. This timing. This angle. Perfect!" is what Kageyama not only says when they FIRST ever did the freak quick, but also during the final play of the Aoba Johsai match that they lost in the first season. The exact reverse situation, a team putting everything on the minus tempo quick, but this time Hinata and Kageyama were the ones able to block it. Just pure poetry. I've been waiting to watch you watch this for so long! Not disappointed!!!!
that's a good way to put it. "mirror" the first season
I don't know if it's intentional or not, and not so poetic as this. But the point immediately before the last.
Kageyama dumps the ball and looks at Atsumu{?}, and the screen fades to Osamu's green (the same green hue background used when they were using "twin sense")
Meaning Atsumu was already planning on using the freak quick from that point on. Just a tiny bit of foreshadowing, that seemed super small, but also super cool to me!
Could me Osamu just "mentally" calling for the ball too. OR both wanting to do it!
Seeing your team go crazy at the end after winning as underdogs gave me chills. Love sports.
I"m glad you felt that too. That was definitely one of my most memorable moments in my coaching career
This Hinata's "Oooyaaaa" was just so powerfull I've almost cried. I thought Coach would react at this moment more emotionally((
@@Flis2405 I almost cry too! This scene is so emotional🥺
I thought he felt sorry for them because he wouldn’t be around to be their ace anymore 🤣
- "incomplete spike" that Futakuchi says refers to the fact that Asahi was trying this delayed timing spike just recently at their practice game, and it wasn't going well, but somehow he managed to get it right by Nationals;
- "best high school setter, my ass!" - Osamu actually isn't thinking about Kageyama here, he's pissed that Atsumu is "mentally regressing" and getting stupidly excited about the opponents' combination x)
Isn't it Atsumu being his own critic in 2? I always read it like Atsunu telling it to hinself "Best Setter my ass, I gotta be better if I want to be the best."
@@OnizukaKakashi no, Osamu is the one that is talking and he is mocking Atsumu for getting so excited over Hinata.
And the fact that he dare to use it at such critical moment
@@OnizukaKakashi Nah, it’s Osamu being pissed off at Atsumu. You can tell by comparing their demeanours during the play, Osamu is mad, while Atsumu is having the time of his life
up up up!!
The visuals of that guys eyes showing that ball falling......thats when u know, how much they love their work and works hard for it.
29:28 lol u have me dying with the "twin's ki*k!" 💀💀💀
Random fact when you rewatch:
If you ever wondered why the jersey's have a picture of a foot on it followed by the letters "ics", its to represent the Japanese sporting company ASICS.
Got it
"𝑰 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅, 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏'𝒕"
Just for reference, that last part of Tsuki's line hits pretty hard.
Now that Karasuno won, the most awaited "Battle at the Garbage Dump" is finally here with cats vs. crows.
Can't wait for the Nekoma Match 😍
So at 15:22 there is a scene missing from the manga, where the training camp assistant coach was commenting on Hinata's development on receiving. When he had his first big receive he was wandering if Hinata had just a moment of luck or a fluke, but after this one he apologizes to him in his mind saying that Hinata is definitely not a fluke
13:40
This is basically Spiker's version of "Get the damn point".
I'm so glad I got to watch you react to this
"They knew that a little better than everyone else" gives me the chills every time i watch this scene.
The little call backs in this episode that Furudate inputs small details that we usually don't think are impactful but later prove to be so important:
1. "I think everyone is surprised. But we weren't"
I just might be able to see it"
"Tsuki's choice to not force block Suna Rintaro since he have his team's back."
👏 to the creator. Although there's almost little callbacks every episode these one is the most satisfying because of hoe they win this match
I love all of this😭💗
There are 3 important moments here that make this episode one of the greatest in the entire series.
They knew that a little better than everyone else."
Hope these small details help you to appreciate this amazing series even more.
Tsukishima basically saying that 'All of that boll boy you did. Make sure it wasn't all for nothing'
For me, the following are the scenes that stand out the most in terms of bgm:
- Tanaka's super sharp cross after feeling down
- Hoshiumi's montage in the tournament
- Tsukishima's block vs Ushijima
- Tsukishima being told off my Yamaguchi
- Hinata's first proper recieve against Aran
- The final rally of the Aoba Josai rematch game
i've only really listen to the top soundtrack, but the list would be really long just on that soundtrack. Haikyuus music is awesome.
-I think Tanaka's cross has the best music in the show. #1
-I never paid any mind to the music during that scene but it is actually really hype. #4
-What music? lmao this is my favorite scene in the show and I love that it's silent until the celebration. #?
-Yamaguchi's 'sense of pride' scene has quality music. Not hype, but very well composed. #5
-Again, good very appropriate for the scene, not in my top 5 though. #7
-Hype, 2nd best on the soundtrack. #2
bgm?

Does anyone know the name of the bgm when yaku morisuke hurts his ankle in the match against those snake guys and the other libero comes in??
Thank you for putting what I thought during these episode 😅
Slight correction: Hinata was hitting the ball blind back then so he couldn't have seen the block anyway.
This episode is just… *sigh*. The day they announce season 5, it doesn’t matter that I’ve already read the manga. I’m gonna probably cry, I sincerely just love this show so much. Thank you so much inviting us along for the journey with you coach!!
When Kageyama says *that* line, I'm gonna cry like a newborn baby I swear
I’ve probably seen Hinata’s “Alright” scene about 5 times and I still teared up watching it in this video
It's rude to just dismissed all of my hardwork for the past 24 years
This episode is one of the reasons (of course, the chapter in the manga too) why haikyuu is considered as one of the best spokons in history
Volleyball players are so different, this is the first sport that I see every players try so hard to save the ball
So there are some amazing things to come
wow I never thought I would be excited for another season, but I can honestly say I am super excited especially after watching ep 25

"This too is volleyball"
That's why that is such a moving line.
Now I'm usually the best player on a mediocre team. lol
Lol James is such a great editor. Some of the little small things he added in this episode made me laugh so hard
INDEED!
Twins kink 😂
The poetry of Kageyama and Hinata winning the game by scoring a stuff against their own move is just amazing.
Ngl I really want to see you try Asahi’s delayed timing against some triple blocks in your recreations. 19:29
Glad everything happened and worked, can’t wait til season 5!!
man yahaba saying “Go back! Go back!” is so fucking hype to me for some reason
"Go back! Go back!" is so hype because we the audience, like the players, know exactly what's gonna happen: it's a free ball, and Atsumu is going to capitalize on that opportunity, with both Aram and Osamu on the front row. There's nothing to say except "go back! Go back!"
But of course the block is already forming.
Atsumu feel in love with the way Hinata loves volleyball
I think it's perfect for the climax of the game."
And this final rally is probably my favourite one that's been animated so far.
They knew that a little better than anyone else."
Those lines really reflected the freak quick duo's journey.
Watched all your reactions of Haiykuu!!
Thank you for this great journey 🎉
I have been waiting for this for so long! So happy you loved it as much as I did! What’s cool about this last block isn’t just that it’s a call back to them relying on the quick but the fact that the Miya twins say the exact same words as when kageyama and hinata get blocked by aoba johsai. It is such a poetic way to full circle their growth and arcs but also demonstrates how far they have come and starts a new character arc for these two and we can see where they will go now past the mastery of this type of attack. I love it all! Thanks for your reactions coach Donny they really have made me happy the past 1-2 years!
32:10 The best part of it is that all of the teams that lost to Karasuno in the past are now cheering for Karasuno.
I LOVED THAT THE ANIME SHOWED THAT! It’s so amazing to see that they are rooting for Karasuno to win
The last block from Karasuno can be done because they also get the same one from the first lost to aoba johsei (seijoh)
19:42
the reason he called it an incomplete spike was just because asahi hadnt mastered it yet
Wilfredo Leon is one of my fav volleyball players, super glad you brought him up. The way he plays is so unique and fun to watch.
