Well nishida kind of told him where he was going to serve it, so the reciever didn’t have to like dive anywhere or know where he was going to serve.

Honestly i think this does a really good job at highlighting the difficulties of serving in volleyball. I‘ve always struggled with the fact that you don’t see ANYTHING while serving from the top/jump serve. You just have to get a feel for the angle and the power you need.
Very good point! Seeing the full trajectory of the ball is one thing. However, observing the trajectory of the ball just as it crosses the net and THEN reacting is extremely difficult!

@@crazier987 it gets crazier if you think about it. In this video he's aiming for the receiver. In real matches, nishida is crazy good at hitting seams. So you have to first determine whether its your ball or your teammate's before you go for it.

You would probably need to immediately claim it yours with a ball velocity like that

以前上げてらっしゃったスローのサーブ動画も拝見したのですがやはり一連の動作全てが美しいですね…
今回GoProをつけてなので西田選手の目線の動きがよく分かり、助走時の風の音やボールを打った後すぐ相手コートをグッと見る瞬間を臨場感たっぷりと見られるのがとても良いです…！
柳澤選手にどうボールが向かってきてどうレシーブするのかや、受けた直後の目線の動き、「うぅ…」という言葉にどれだけボールが重たいんだろうか…等も考えさせて頂ける貴重な動画ですね…
そして皆さんが楽しそうにやってらっしゃるのが良いですね…！
柳澤選手の煽りの舞やありがとうございまぁーすなどお茶目な姿も可愛かったですし、西田選手もすごく笑ってらっしゃるのにサーブ前はスッと凛とした空気になるのがとても素敵でした。
ディレクターさんはがっしりしてらっしゃると思ったら剣道やってらっしゃったんですね、
面と小手だけ装備している姿は確かに職質されそうですがそれもまた面白くてちょっとしたマスコットみたいだなと思いました(´∀｀)

Those serves are filled with immense power but I was also focused on Yanagisawa's split step to receive those serves.⚡🔥
Even when nishida isn't in his best shape, his serves still shake me to the core

We all appreciate nishida serve and the reciever but can we talk about nishida's control on ball when he release it before the serve? You can actually hear a popping sound on his fingertips. He knows how much spin he needs. Have seen other international stars serving but only a few of them can have the same crunch in it.

He actually stepped too far forward and had to turn his body to recieve.
he actually would've been better positioned to recieve if he was further back
the step forward is just part of his motion into the splitstep as far as I can tell, I play tennis not volleyball but we also do a small step forward before splitstep on serve returns
