Wow! What happened to these good old days. Choir members wore black and white, God recieved the glory, and the people were blessed. Let's go back to that p;d landmark. These songs were great and kept us focused on the cross. To all gospel musicians today, take note and realize it's the power of the gospel in song that inspire God's people to live for him.
Read all these comments I myself was born in 1956 and this was the Church and all Gospel at it's BEST as well as the Band and Preaching. Love it and I would so Hope This would Come Back. But in to days world Man is Playing God.So those of us who Love the LORD.Let's keep Him Praised UP.Amen.Loving all the Wonderful Comment and those who Feel as I Do. Love Me Some Gospel Music. And this kinda Music isn't Happening any More.God Bless You ALL. With Love With A Lot Of Love again Thanks So Much.
Thank you Lord..I am so feeling that black and white the choir has on. Reminds you how good it looks and sounds when you have a uniform and anointed choir singing for the Lord and not for their own glory
I absolutely LOVE this clip and ten memories it resurrects.. I truly miss these days when choir memberships totaled in the hundreds and the musicians along with the choirs meant SERIOUS business when they came together so exalt The Lord of hosts
This video took me back to a very enjoyable time when our church was duplicating a lot of various Gospel songs. This song is a complete delight. Two professional heavyweights and a dynamic choir with very capable musicians! I'm in heaven!
OMG..My father and I used to sing this together...Jones Chapel MBC Gospel Choir..Louisburg, NC late 80s. WOW..Good times. That bass tho'...where is he now? Anointed!
My dad had this vhs when I was a kid about 5 yrs old. I remember every song and every lick and note that was played. I have seen it every bit of 151 times im sure. Great music. Gotta bring it back out of the crate to 2012
Yoooooo, did y'all hear that tongue roll, when she sung "May not be able to Preach like Paul" thats to hot the handle. Miss old gospel music like this!!
I saw her direct a choir one night when i was younger, and it was electrifying. She was so charged with energy. It was like she pulled the sound out from the choir and musicians, and threw it around the audience!
My name is Elder Walter W Hicks jr this brings back so many memories rev Timothy wright and I grew up together in Brooklyn , bed- Stuyvesant in st johns fire baptise church on futon st I miss him so much much , but am grateful to know that we were rightly connected by faith in ourLord and Savior JESUS CHRIST mine and his prayer was that you would give your life to JESUS , for a man , be it woman cannot live wrong and die right , for if you are going to do wrong do it right be bless
Thanks for posting this. I have been going through so much and this really is an encouragement to my weary soul. :) I love to sing myself and long to create music for the Lord to encourage and comfort others with the same comfort I have been and 'currently' am being given myself through God's Holy Spirit.
I think this choir is one of the bast choirs in gospel music. They don't get this recognition for being a sanctuary choir. Many great gospel singers some from the Memphis, TN area, not just Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, CA, New York, and Indianapolis, IN. They are all over. Bountiful Blessings was one of the places to record.
Please post the song Farther Along (by and by). It didn't make the album but it was on the video. And it was good arrangement of a good song, and it's a real blessing.
I remember this like it was yesterday...now, I'm trying to find my sister in the choir (soprano section :)...anyone know what Ms. Summers is doing these days? I know she left Memphis for her recording contract, but that's the last I heard...all of this came back to mind when Pastor Wright passed away....
@schoolgyrl6 The junior choir sung this song when i was a kid. You had to be 13 to sing in that choir and i couldn't wait cause they could sang and still can
LOL! I am in tears about your comment sexyoasis777. But the cover is still true in the new millenium. Keep Wright in Prayer because I heard he took a turn for the worse last week. Can you post your pic MethodistPreacher? Let's see what cha workin wit!!! LOL GOD, I can't stop laughing
: does anyone have the cassette. i need this in my collection. we song this when i was child. i can't find it on amazon. it's out of print. need help with this one, peeps... :
Sexual Orientation is not sexual activities. It may influence sexual activity but not it is not sexual activity. I have known male choir directors who slept with every women that could get their hands on. It isn't a real struggle if your orientation isn't same gendered. it like say I'm practicing what I'm preaching cause i don't smoke. Smoking may have never been an issue.
This was the 80s when the gay choir boys, tamborine boys, choir director boys still got married to cover their lifestyles. And boy, Timothy Wrignt is one ugly dude...God bless him. (Lord forgive)
These songs will NEVER get old or die!
