This project got a bit frustrating towards the end - I expected to just be able to crank things out but it turns out that's not how making things for the first time goes. By the time I got around to editing I didn't really even remember how I did everything and I was kind of sick of thinking about it. So I decided to make this (and the next one) more of a watch-it-come-together video than a how-to video. I figure that's what most of you are after anyway, but I might have blazed through things a bit too much here? Let me know if I did.

i didn't think i could love you more...then i saw your discussion at the end of the video. thank you so so so much.
another great video, and the cool bonus content at the end is an important message that everyone needs to hear.
Thank you thank you 🔥
Thanks for both the fun chaotic sewing content...and speaking up about Gaza at the end 👍👍👍
Glad you appreciate the chaos haha ❤
thumbs up for the reflected researched bonus
I will be sitting my parents down to watch your Cool Bonus Content at the end. Thank you for putting it together in such a digestible way! It was excellently done.
I'm so glad you think so! I feel like everyone is living in alternate realities right now and I really struggled with how to say something that isn't just preaching to the choir.
The embroidery is so beautiful!
Your creativity and perseverance is wonderful!
The Bonus content is very important.
Thank you!
@@making.history you are welcome
After seeing you sew the way I do, then watching until the end...I wish I could like this video a few more times instead of only once
Haha glad you liked it ❤️❤️
The way i gasped when i saw u upload, bring on the ruffles!!!
Aw that's so sweet! Love to hear it.
Thank you for breaking the silence
Love this video and so glad I found your channel! Also, the frustration cry when it doesn't work again I totally felt in my soul
I love your work, thank you for using your platform to speak for Gaza ❤
You hit all the right notes for me with your making videos. The bit at the and was unexpected and welcome. I'm sure you will anger people, and that's ok. Keep up the good work.
Late to the party on this, but fantastic vid :D I absolutely empathised with the chaotic sewing approaches, and appreciated hearing about the bonus content. Great work
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful work, well done. Looking forward to the next steps in the costuming.
I have only one critique of your discussion. There are the peacemakers on both side of that wall - both groups need amplification right now. That, and closing with a shout-out to Doctors without Boarders. Other than that, mazel tov, Kiddo. Trying to shrink that conflict down to agreed upon facts is a maze to wade through.

I have never done this before, I swear.

Just subscribed, as I’m getting into Regency fashion and need all the help I can get. Thank you so much for speaking about Gaza (I visited Israel in 1987 and saw with my eyes the appalling conditions the Palestinians lived in). It’s now May 2024 and the situation is even worse….
😄Love your content!
Glad you enjoy it!
Good to see ya back :) I'd love to see your take on "fashion" in the 6th to 10th century as that's my favourite historical period but also cool to see your secret passion for weird ass regency stuffs. I don't do any sewing or fashion stuff but your measured and (again) irreverent process is hugely engaging. Also, anyone that uses "ostensibly" in a UtooB video is my kind of content. As to your message. I sympathise greatly with your position as probably most people do. I just don't think there is a political solution to this. There are too many people benefiting from the economics of religion and war but....yeah, we got to make our voice heard. Stay well and have a great holiday.
Glad you liked it! I'm so intimidated by early medieval stuff because it's less about sewing and more about intricate trims and jewelry and brooches.
I'm not going to pretend to have a deep enough understanding to know what the best way out is. War is profitable, but so is the Arab world being able to do business with the US and Israel without it being wildly unpopular among their constituencies, or ships being able to travel without getting captured by Houthi fighters. I think there are a lot of world leaders and companies that wish Israel would work toward stability merely for the sake of their own bottom line, and that gives me some hope.
@@making.history Yeah, I guess those Anglo Saxon, Celtic and Nordic runes and designs are quite tricky BUT You get to wear a sword and you get to use words like ofþryccaþ, stice and neoþeweard....assuming you in any way aspire to doing so I think most Israelis and Arabs just want to live their lives in peace and prosperity but when you are surrounded by other nations that want you to literally not exist, what can you do??? I know, give up the occupied territories and stop any new settlers arriving and try and find common ground...... I tend to find these things are just so much bigger than you and I. Anyway, hope you have a nice snowy holiday season and maybe buy a thimble??? :D
0:17 were those devil sticks? i had those as a kid!
I believe so!
Seeing things like this really make me feel connected with history. I wonder if they listened to Offspring and played tony hawk pro skater, too@@making.history
Really? Political crap??? You lost me forever.
Imagine thinking wanting humans to stay alive, and live with dignity, peace and freedom to be "political" - Please get off the planet, you've lost your planet privileges!
Bye lol
Same. I don’t watch sewing/historical fashion videos for modern day political commentary 😒
This is a channel devoted to historical sewing. Politics will come up for discussion. Maybe next time you swoon out of the room you could use more, ah-hem, elegant language? Keep it adult? Because at the moment you appear to be a bit petulant... Have a nice day. See you around the Internet...
