I’m always amazed how you narrate your videos with such a casual tone… all the while knowing the hours, days and WEEKS it has taken to complete your projects! As if… “so… you know… I just made this super complicated, incredibly detailed thing… and I’m going to share all of my work in 16 minutes.” LOL! Thanks for sharing your art with us. It’s a blessing to many. :)
You are an amazing seamstress! Every time I watch your videos, I think of how much my high school sewing teacher would have treasured you! I took all her sewing classes and though I don't sew all my clothes I have made some really wonderful cocktail dresses and gowns the past 50 (yes 50!) years since high school. It's a lifelong love once you start.
I love a great pun. Back in the 80s, I was in a comedy group, and our Christmas show, we'd sing a song called "Phylicia Rashad," singing the praises of one of our best actresses, to the tune of "Feliz Navidad."
Hi Sewstine, I just want to say that I appreciate your videos and your unique personality that you put into them. It is inspiring to see how you make your projects your own. You obviously have some amazing personal skills, knowledge, your awesome embroidery machines, and a fun personality and interests, and you combine them to make projects and videos that are all your own... even the recreations! Your channel is uplifting to those of us watching. Thank you for sharing a bit of yourself with us.
Awesome shout out to my dear friend at Shocking Bad Hats! I’ve got one of hers which she gave me as a gift some years ago. I adore my Shako. Also a big fan of Black Snail Patterns as well
You are extra special!!! That coat is stunning and the fabric just hits tilt in my head WOW! I have to comment on how chill your dog is just sitting with you!!! I'm amazed by your makes, they're just fantastic 😍
I got your new book and I LOVE it. It is a wealth of proper terms, without being pedantic, making it a valuable resource for research as well as being very entertaining. The illustration is charming, too. Thank you so much.
Looks fabulous, even without a lining! Your attention to detail - and willingness to slog through miles of hand-stitching - does you credit! That hat is beautiful, too!
I love that coat! I happen to like the knuckle length sleeve. I frequently make that or longer for coats. But i design it so it can be turned back as a decorative cuff. This way if the weather is really bad or cold i can turn the cuff down and have warm dry hands.
Absolutely stunning. Wear it with jeans, a tee, a handbag and some black boots - find excuses to wear that exquisite work. All the very best of the season to you and yours. Early happy new year. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
The work you put into this pelisse is admirable, (sorry - that word sounds "softer" than I mean it, but I couldn't like of another) and particularly since you are out of your element, which is not in your own sewing room. It looks absolutely stunning! And the hat is amazing!
This turned out beautifully! The process was a joy to watch from start to finish. Also, the Duolingo sound at the end gave me an unexpected but fun dopamine boost.
I love the coat but first let me say: that hat! That glorious hat!!! I was immediately reminded of a description in one of my favorite Georgette Heyer books, The Grand Sophy, where Sophy appears in her military inspired riding habit, wearing a shako! The coat is beautiful! I love the fabric so much, and you did a lovely job of recreating similar trimming! So beautiful.
omg, that silk-wool blend is scrumptious!! i just bought my bestie a fleece nightgown and robe for when she stays in my chilly house with me, and i dubbed the gifts "fleece navidad," so great minds (i flatter myself)? love your advice to interface the linen vice the silk-wool since linen is so floopy and wonky as it is, but omg your finished coat (so far) is to die for--*please* post another video when you finish it!! happy holidays to you and yours!
laughed soooooooo hard out loud when “Pelisse Navidad” came up haha 😂 Also, seems like police and pelisse share the military authoritative background… interesting
Hi, you look fabulous in your coat, after all the hours of work you have made a work of art. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family. ❤
Absolutely gorgeous! I want to sashay around in a pelisse now. I did not know I needed one of these, but I feel I have been living incorrectly all this time. If only I had a pelisse…but then again I dream of Korean hanboks too, not sure how these two would go together, hmmm….
Your red silk wool is seriously gorgeous. Are you ready for Queen Charlotte to ask you 'Where her deformed rat (The Pom) is?' Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Wow that is absolutely stunning!!! That fabric is to die for... my heart stopped when you cut it lol. Did you use special pins not to snag it? I also love all the dresses you wear in vid..especially the blush color under coat at end! I'm a new fan!
You mentioned making it a little bit larger size because you’ve gone up in size and I’m curious if you are going to go back and modify or adjust any of your older outfits to fit.
I recently made 4 different Black Snail patterns and am really glad I had the A0 patterns printed for me at a local print shop. I'm not sure printing on A4 is cost effective and I know it's time consuming.
I’m so honestly admire you for NOT using some disgusting polyester as it done in Bridgerton and by lots of fans ! 👍 silk is a big plus, although expensive :/ but thanks it’s not polyester 👏

Hehehe thank you so much!! :D I love having a fiddly little project to work on when I get home so I loved working on it!
YES, it's mind blowing. Christine is truly a super human.

Came for the pun, stayed for the gorgeous outerwear!! It's stunning!
Thank you!! :D
Pelisse was the Trench-coat before the Trench-coat.
Hahaha a good summary!!
Considering it was military in origin then yes
I love a great pun. Back in the 80s, I was in a comedy group, and our Christmas show, we'd sing a song called "Phylicia Rashad," singing the praises of one of our best actresses, to the tune of "Feliz Navidad."
You made me cackle aloud at "Pelisse Navidad".😆

Wow, that red fabric is gorgeous! It has such a wonderful luster and the color...I whole heartedly agree with your decision to use it for the coat.
Thank you!!
Pelisse Navidad🤣❤

I do hope you get to make that 1950s outfit because it does look awesome!
Только на 3 минуте до меня дошло, что это гусарский ментик, который трансформировался в дамский удлиненный вариант 😄
Jolly perfection 🎁
how you casually tell us you this and that and actually it took 100h. What a dedication you have to this craft, I am in awe every time!
That is my dream coat, the fit, length, tailoring..."chef's kiss".
Pelisse is awesome! Idk it reminds me of ‘Emma’ (2020).
Emma had a great example of one! Her yellow one was *chefs kiss*
@@Sewstine Apparently, it was low-key inspired by Cher’s yellow outfit in ‘Clueless’.
I just bought the Black Snail pattern! Your version looks stunning, and that HAT 😍 I'm so inspired!!!
Ooh! Enjoy! It’s a fantastic pattern and I hope you love it!
You are extra special!!! That coat is stunning and the fabric just hits tilt in my head WOW! I have to comment on how chill your dog is just sitting with you!!! I'm amazed by your makes, they're just fantastic 😍
Perfect, flattering & I agree, that hat is stunning ! 😍 Brought the entire outfit together.
Thank you! Shocking Bad Hats did such an incredible job!

That coat is so awesome and Lady Dansbury is my favorite Bridgerton character as well . Can’t wait for season 4😮
Looks fabulous, even without a lining! Your attention to detail - and willingness to slog through miles of hand-stitching - does you credit! That hat is beautiful, too!
Wow ... that shako hat!
As a coat junkie, I highly approve!!! Lovely
Gosh this is GORGEOUS! The red fabric is to die for.
Oh the pelisse is so cute! I cannot take it LOL! The hat, stole and coast are 💯. You look fabulous in the outfit!❤
That may be the most gorgeous fabric I've ever seen. And the hat!
This is so beautiful! All the details are just so lovely. (Sighs with clasped hands) I love a colorful coat. And that hat!!
You are a very clever woman! And that fabric is to die for!! 🙌🏻 Thanks for sharing this with us ❤
That HAAAAAT oh my goodness. Fantastic. What a gorgeous colour, it came out excellent

Oh my god the pun right out the gate 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was not ready
So glad to see you again! I also ADORE this pelisse. I'm going to have to make one. It's just required. Pelisse Navidad indeed!
Red is my favorite color so you had me at the fabric. It’s such a beautiful coat and it looks very modern. You just look exceptionally stylish.
The fabric is gorgeous!! Very well suited for a pelisse.
What a deliciously sumptuous pelisse 😻 You look stunning in it!
Thank you so much!
Happy holidays hope the coming year is more settled, i too have had lots of moving this year and im hoping to have a quiet year next year.

I LOVE this!
Yes and please. Comment for engagement.
I love your dress.
Thank you!!
So, why is Sewstine living in a B & B !? Hoping it's just Holiday Travel & not anything bad ?
I do follow her on IG, but seldom see her posts ! :(
Oh man we’re staying in an air bnb for a few months while we move up to Chicago! :D
@@Sewstineoh, I thought you had moved back to St Louis? Hope things are well!
Yeah, it seems like she's spent the last few years in Air BnBs!!!
exquisite
You mentioned making it a little bit larger size because you’ve gone up in size and I’m curious if you are going to go back and modify or adjust any of your older outfits to fit.
I actually fixed the ones for which I had extra fabric. A lot of them went to my awesome friend Queen Astraea!
GURL look at your fancy fancy 😮
Thank you!!
Can you make a sleeveless dress with cotton shoulder length long gloves(white).
Oh so that's what those hats are called? It reminds me of one hat from a czech/east german cinderella movie that I grew up with!
Yes! They’re called Shakers and Rebecca really did such a great job with it!
❤❤❤
I recently made 4 different Black Snail patterns and am really glad I had the A0 patterns printed for me at a local print shop. I'm not sure printing on A4 is cost effective and I know it's time consuming.
Have you read the books? Lady Danbury has been incredibly well written and cast.
Yes!! I loved her in the books as well and she’s so delightful and sassy in the show.
I squee'd out loud. In public. ❤❤❤❤
Hussar is pronounced hu zzz , they where Hungarian Cavalry, but all European cavalry regiment’s became known as Hussars.
The word is hu zaa. Predictive text keeps changing it.!!!
Hi, love your channel…what does your husband do for a living?
Trashcan Panda.
Hahahaa I do love me raccoons!
I’m so honestly admire you for NOT using some disgusting polyester as it done in Bridgerton and by lots of fans ! 👍 silk is a big plus, although expensive :/ but thanks it’s not polyester 👏
