Amazing tone! Hope to see a full mastering video from this album soon. (Hopefully showcasing more of the bus+ and maybe even Flatline 2? 👀) We’ve all been chasing that mid-00’s mix and you’ve nailed it with this one. 🤘🏼
Chevelle was 100% Mesa Mark IV and I believe Pete used a tech-21 sansamp to boost it. Linkin and Three Days Grace are mostly Mesa Dual/Triple Rectifier’s! But I would also love to see a video!
Linkin Park and Three Days Grace probably used a tubescreamer + mesa boogie dual recto + Marshall jcm800... same idea like in this video. Hope this helps
The commonality in that era/sound was a Mesa cab. It's arguable the amp is is interchangeable but more importantly, it wasn't a boosted/tight sound. Flubby (in a good way) and huge. Most of the time mid scooped. Through a Mesa cab and you are 95% of the way there.
I was beginning to think this would be an ancient forgotten art lol but I'm surprised to hear that it holds up very well! Makes me want to revisit quad-tracking for a bit.
I dont have josh plug in but i do have the stl tones amp hub and let me tell you that I did everything you showed in this video and I got a kick ass tone, thank you so much man.
I bought his sig ltd a couple months ago, guitar sounds insanely good for recording. It just naturally sounds like what youre tryin to eq. The chunk is in the low mids, very clear.
I am so impressed with this that i saved your settings as presets. I would love to know how to get bass tones (sims, settings etc) to sit with these 2000's GTR tones.
Killer job on this..absolutely love this plugin..still havent found my sound with the Dual Rec yet..but I've been Quad tracking with the Blockletter and Neural DSP Soldano and it's crazy awesome
Sounds killer! It'd be great to get a video on how to get lead guitars to pop like that solo too! Completely unobstructed and the focus of attention without sacrificing the integrity of the rhythm guitars - a problem I have in my own demos, it all turns to a blurry mess, likely because I'm not carving enough out with EQ/multi-band compression etc... Cheers from sunny old England!
9:30 the eq on the Rectifier is passive not active. The tonestack in that amp is pretty much the same circuit as the Peavey 5150 or even most Marshall heads. Interaction wise it's the same as the other mentioned amps, the only noticable difference is how the presence behaves in modern mode. Turning the mids up is not the same as turning the bass and treble down. The Peavey Triple X is the only amp in that plugin that really has an active eq.
Will the systematic mixing guide be helpful and easy to follow for a bedroom musician like myself to learn the basics of mixing? I mostly use pedal board based tones, plugins etc.
GOOD VIDEO ERMIIN!!! you have not shown the FX section where there is the Parametric EQ pedal activated (on preset 4). An explanation of adjustment with the large possibilities of this pedal would have been interesting with you ;-)
I considered it, but it would've bloated the video with another section that most people would have skipped, which would have reduced the average view duration, which means the algo would've shown it to less people, which means less people would've seen everything etc. We have to pick our battles on these platforms sometimes.
@@SystematicProductions ok it's true I hadn't seen it from that point, it's still a video very provided by your explanations which brings us a very rich content in the end, thank you for explaining the structure of the sound with so much of passion.
@@SystematicProductions Thanks, but damn, took 2 tubes out of my triple rec just so i could run it through my boss waza expander (i need to keep quiet) and ran it through the Bogren Irs. Got the triple 15 years ago before i knew anything about anything.
There is one that is part of the STL Amp Hub plugin, for me it's good but not that great but Audio Assault have one in their ReAmp plugin that is very good and worth trying in my opinion
Sounds super good. But can someone explain me if this is not modern guitar tone, what is modern metal guitar tone? P.S Duuude yall almost nailed STAMPIN GROUND - New Darkness Upon Us sound.
I only ever did that because it was necessary due to less than ideal raw tones. We have so many options for creating tones these days, that we can get very close from the raws.
"watch the video all the way through" nah homie since you wanna tell me what to do ima do the polar opposite. way you talk i feel like i'm watching an infomercial and you're trying to sell me your content like it's a slap chop. funny i always enjoyed your mixes and a couple of the musicians you work with and took a lot of advice from you on the sneap forums but this "hurrdurr ima utoober" vibe is just a huge turnoff for me. having your own identity is important and yours is just copy paste from every other mediocre tryhard on here. you're better than this. (at least i thought so back in the day)
The Systematic Mixing Guide eBook link has been fixed: sowl.co/UaeFs
We appreciate all the support!
Minor detail but the pick attack on the string skipping part of the solo is wild. Josh is such a sick player.
Ermin is like those old dads who miss 80s but it`s 2000s for him lol
nostalgia is fun
That’s one of the most massive guitar tones I ever heard out of a plugin. Absolutely incredibile
My fav guitar sound. Nothing chugs better than a 5150 and a Mesa. I'd love to see the mastering process for this one!
Fortin Meshuggah chugs pretty good 🤘
The grin on this man's face when he's getting the tone he's looking for is so relatable lmao
The sound I grew up with. That will always be the sound I think guitars should have.
Amazing tone!

This is sick. The new Sylosis singles have some of my favorite guitar tone in recent memory
Thanks for the cool video. Yes, mastering of the song/album would be great!
big yes for the mastering guide
Great video!
Also, it would be awesome to see how to get the perfect 2000s rock tone (like Chevelle, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace etc.)
Chevelle was 100% Mesa Mark IV and I believe Pete used a tech-21 sansamp to boost it. Linkin and Three Days Grace are mostly Mesa Dual/Triple Rectifier’s! But I would also love to see a video!

@@bradylasserre9320 The unboosted dual-rec sound is unbeatable!
Linkin used mesa dual and modded Marshall. Three days grace its a combination between Diezel and Marshall amps.

It hurts hearing childhood when you still love those albums as a thirty something. Nostalgia sux
I use the systematic mixing book to this day lol. I find something new every time I open it up. I love your tutorials, you make it look so easy.
Just got this suite and it so so close to the real amps it's insane! Love the tone you have on this video, thanks for the tips sir!
Flawless as always. Would love a guide about mastering this record. And also a video on mixing vocals.

Of course we want a mastering walkthrough ;)
the look of glee on your face when you are dialing in these tones you can tell you love what you do
thats also an important ingredient

Great combo that bring us back to the golden era 🙌🏻 thanks for the video and yes definitly would be awesome to check the master chain
Dude, so damn good! And I’d love that video showing how you mastered this beast! 🤘🏻
Definitely going to grab this amp pack.
God damn these sound good straight out of the box.
Awesome tones!!!
Gotta appreciate Ermin's consistency in the gym. Dude never looked small
Great Sound, very good Job

Brilliant run through, instant sub
Sick vid! I can feel the Sneap forum energy haha
What an immense guitar tone😮 kickass🤘💀🤘
Sounds huge! Hope you will do a mastering video!
Fantastic video. I would love to see the mastering behind that, yes!
this video is just perfect ! thanks for this
Sylosis, perfect gat sounds, perfect power lifting music 🤘
This was awesome thank you!!

Sound is killer! Would definitely appreciate mixing guide!
damn, I want the mastering video too. It sounds so awesome.
awesome guitar sounds, texture heaven. And yes, show us how you mastered this please!
Amazing!
Swell playlist.. Could you please create one with some October ends tunes? Dark is my favourite one and then Play Time, Devil's Den as well !!
Would love to see you do a video with the Lasse Lammert Tonality, that purple nightmare is sickening
dat panda daytona tho... that thing just pops
Another great video. I’d definitely be interested in seeing how you mastered the record. Thanks in advance.

Please make a ControlHub pack with STL Tones!

Yayada yada play the clean guitars and vocals only and make a video about that 😂😂😂😂😂 josh is fuxking brilliant

The plugin is great, but idk, I can't get tones like this guy did. I am used to Neural DSP Omega, maybe I am spoiled )))
If you want great colour use spl twin tube
WONDERFUL, great video i will refer back to. How does the dual rec compare to the tipple rec tone wise and how you would dial one in?
Triple Rec we generally felt was overkill. You needed to crank it up so loud to get the tone sweet spot that it largely defeated the point.
@@SystematicProductions Thanks, but damn, took 2 tubes out of my triple rec just so i could run it through my boss waza expander (i need to keep quiet) and ran it through the Bogren Irs. Got the triple 15 years ago before i knew anything about anything.
love the triple X, very underappreciated amp. Does anyone make a Framus Cobra plugin these days?
Good question! Hopefully we will one day.
There is one that is part of the STL Amp Hub plugin, for me it's good but not that great but Audio Assault have one in their ReAmp plugin that is very good and worth trying in my opinion
Thermionik by Kazrog has framus cobra
did you use the same di file on the double? as I look closely on the waveform it looks a slightly different.
Those drums sound insane too dude. Did you mix/master this too?
XXX slays
Does anyone know what song is playing in the background at 12:35 ?
i don't know but to me there's a constant KSHHHHHHHH sound on the higher frequencies
Was the Mesa blended like -5 db compared to the 5150?
did you do the bass too?
what software on a PC should I use to use these plugins?
Sounds super good. But can someone explain me if this is not modern guitar tone, what is modern metal guitar tone?
P.S Duuude yall almost nailed STAMPIN GROUND - New Darkness Upon Us sound.
Honestly you could use this for modern metal, but I think modern metal tones tend to be more snappy
Never heard that record before. It's awesome!
why would starting with the cab section be strange, it literally makes the largest difference.
Sir how to avail the systematic Mixing guide? its failed to process the link
Apologies, the link in the description has been fixed.
Dual Rectum fryer 🤣
will you make a master video for a track like this? sick of nueral dsp metal
The link for the systematic mixing guide doesn't appear to be working correctly.
Apologies, it's been fixed.
@@SystematicProductions No worries. Bought it :). Thank you
Are those guitars double tracked or copy and paste
They're quad tracked.
I hate how people compare soft 2 soft and tell what blockletter has!! Just get hardware and go
Jewel Rektohm lmao.
Do you still believe in doing extremely high amounts of EQ to guitar tones to make it fit?
I only ever did that because it was necessary due to less than ideal raw tones. We have so many options for creating tones these days, that we can get very close from the raws.
Why does my dude talk like Lars Ulrich
