WWWWOOOOOOOOOWWW. Everytime. Every-fucking-time. I grin the entire length of this video on just the sheer chemistry and radiating love these fellows have for making music. I don't care how shitty of a day I have, I come home, put my headphones on, listen to this and everything is okay. I can't thank you enough for the music you make, Cory. Well fucking done to all of you.

her voice... GAWD! Listening to this high is...just the ultimate. Like her voice literally almost brought me to tears. Her voice, silky, sultry, haunting and enchanting. Every run is elegantly and superlatively executed with precision. Exquisite...Like Merovingian cussing in french exquisite.
That performance was crazy with lots of pun intended. By the time the dulcimer solo came on I was already mad at everyone on that stage. The bass player killed it, resuscitated it then killed it again just because he felt like it. I felt like grabbing his guitar and use it to smash all the instruments on that stage! I'm hatin' big time because these musicians are ridiculously sick with it. This was phenomenal
Magical and so respectful. Corey sensed that Max the dulcimer player was unsettled and not ready to give his best, so he added a chapter by flirting musically with Chantae, who played her part to absolute perfection. Max settled in and gave a skullblinding performance that fitted in, sometimes uber-tightly and sometimes like quicksilver. Respect and Beauty appear to go hand in hand. This piece will stay close to me for the rest of my life.
I just love Cory's chord voicings. So much power with so few notes! I've had the best time figuring out each chord voice - terrific learning experience!
i got straight chills at 6:17 once the chords came in combined with all the instruments. cant describe the feeling. it was a pleasant feeling to my ears. ❤
Fast Hands by Max ZT on TH-cam was my favourite video 13 years ago. Always thought he’d go places with his dulcimer skills! Stoked to see him playing with Cory. Pity he cut his long hair off. Was a vibe!
there is a majestic genius going on here. To even think of including a Santoor in this is outrageous to pull it off like this in beyond amazing. This is just mind blowing and Mr Henry's everything is too brilliant for words
Thank you so much! The past four years, every time i show someone this song the only thing I could call it is a harp, laid on its, played with spoons. Now i finally have a name for it. Thank you a thousand time for ending my almost half a decade of suffering.
+tamas szasz a cimbalom is part of the hammered dulcimer family of instruments. cimbalom is indeed the hungarian version but there are many different types of hammered dulcimers from all over the world
Man. Glory to GOD!!!! I started listening to snarky not too long ago, and when I listened to Cory's solo on lingus and blinky, I knew there was something different. I had a suspicion Cory was or could have been a man of GOD. Now that I saw his vids in church settings, it brings even more joy. Keep glorifying the LORD JESUS bro. Grace and peace.
I honestly believe that the "jazz band" could really make a "come back" into mainstream if a few talented individuals such as those in this video really went for it... #JustAThought
music history is cyclical, first normal then revolutionary (revolution of jazz, then standard, then folk and rocknroll, then standard 80s pop, then 90s rock and hiphop, then 2000s standard music), im waiting till next decade, there will be a revolution, prolly jacob collier will be one of its most important artists, or some electronic music producer
Hiatus Kaiyote, Snarky Puppy, Bad Bad Not Good, Thundercat, Kamasi Washington, Vulfpeck, Robert Glasper, Jacob Collier, Taylor McFerrin, ... etc. And they are all collaborating.
Hell ya you know whats up. A lot of these mainstream musicians like Kendrick Lamar and Mac miller have collaborated with those artist. Don't forget Flylo. Music evolves lol. I feel like those artists you mentioned are the best alive rn
This groove is so crazy I am from the Caribbean and I am hearing all kinds of West Indian vibes soca , Indian chicken ,hip hop , soul ; jazz.It started like Israel Hughton : I'm not not forgotten
Weak!!!! I am soooo weak right now Chantae ..... Your voice is like butter sis.... Cory I just became a major fan of yours .......this band is killing and I love that the vibe is so leveled .... No one is out doing the other everyone is united in the sound and grove ... I LOVEEEEEEEEE IT..... WILL THE REAL MUSICIANS PLEASE STAND UP!!!! Hott ...
Nat townsley.. damn.. First video I lookup about Cory Henry and I see Nat Townsley in the backround. I'm a happy drummer, discovering new feels, This is going right into my Ipod .

Are you kidding me? So many good vibes here!!! Damn max! Lol words can not describe the awe of this arrangement and talent! So happy loving right now! Xx
Cant find words for this...the groove after the dulcimer solo holy shit! goosebumps everywhere. Absolutely amazing performance by all of you. The groove, the synergy between those players, the diversity of atmospheres floating trough this 8 minutes. You just see its passion, its love, its life. What they do is timeless and immortal. Could hear a session of those guys for the rest of my life. youre awesome
no disrespect Cee lo, so this is what the original should have sounded like huh? haha, Cory Henry strikes again!!!The bass player is having the time of his life and spoon man is just killing things! I feel like I'm having fun with them and I'm not even there, that's when you know this is a special moment!
FANDABATASTIC! Gnarles Barcley's CRAZY is legendary - don't even consider emulating it! BUT, this version gets INTO THE VERY DEPTHS OF INSANITY - overwhelming angst & despair, and with that strangely smokey yet childlike innocence of vocal, just tops it off with a piercing troublesome haunting - whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Groove absolu, Ultimate groove. 100% Alchemy, weeks I can't stop listening to this performance. Master class, tremendous musicians. Simply Perfect. That make me crazy. Thank you Cory and your guys.

Great! Great! Great! I must confess first I thought the theme is boring but listening further and than listening repeatedly I began to enjoy this piece more and more because of it's hypnotic atmosphere. It's almost like falling in a trance. Thank you for creating and sharing that! Never heared a dulcimer in such context. Great solo! Always wait for 6:05. But the entire ensemble is wonderful. Love the voice of that girl. I listened to this with headphones and felt like beeing there. Very good sound!

This knocked my socks off and I can't find them anywhere. This is what my favorite food sounds like.
Chris Dixon if someone could make food, that taste the same way this music sounds, I'd eat it till the day I die.

Well i think youre crazy .
This thread is 8 years old and we still have people that can't handle opinions other than their own existing lmao
I never heard a Dulcimer played like that as a solo in a jazz setting..this is indeed crazy!!!
That performance was crazy with lots of pun intended. By the time the dulcimer solo came on I was already mad at everyone on that stage. Allan Robinson I don't understand if you liked it or not...
I loved it a lot and I overused the replay button. It's tough not to appreciate the talent and musicianship in that video
Emma Padfield LOL
@Allan Robinson 😂😂
still the best comment ever after 3 years.
Still here in ‘21.. Cory - fantastic as always. Ms. Chantae - You are a gift! Don’t sleep on Max either!
The guy on the dulcimer is amazing! I've never heard it played like that before!!

Corey makes everyone sound and play better.
Great observation! This is such a dope arrangement!
Well put.
You couldn’t have said it better!! Corey knew Max could play behind the beat. Max came thru and Corey’s smile said it all. What a great song!!

Beautiful song, creative arrangement, unique combination of instruments... and Chantae's voice-- ANGELIC!
easily the most killin dulcimer solo i've ever heard
Lizzi Trumbore easily the *only* killin dulcimer solo i've ever heard
samcooke343 maybe you should listen to some hungarian gipsy music , it's not too late , .......? dulcimer ? it's called cimbalom (in hungarian)
samcooke343 Taraf Da Haidouks
+tamas szasz a cimbalom is part of the hammered dulcimer family of instruments. cimbalom is indeed the hungarian version but there are many different types of hammered dulcimers from all over the world
+smeltnight2002 Indeed, and I'm pretty sure he's playing a Santur, not a Cimbalom, since the strings are oriented horizontally instead of vertically.
This has inspired me to see more live music. So much musical magic is never caught on tape.
I´ve seen this a thousand times, never gets boring

I'd love to be in a band like this where I had complete freedom of the extended harmonies and could sub chords where ever I wanted, Cory NAILED IT!!!!

The dulcimer solo, Cory Henry, and the way Chantae Cann says "possily," all make this a perfect song.
