Around 3:53, Yoran waits for Cory to finish his phrase before hitting the cymbal and you can see Cory smile afterwards. That's truly telepathic communication between musicians folks.s
The telepathy lasts the entire time too, I can't call this performance anything other than absolute freakin' magic, these guys are just on another level.
Another little thing I spotted: at 3:16 Yoran almost hit the snare but at the very last moment decided not to (similar to 3:54 when he waits for Cory to finish the phrase). It's unbelievable how these two geniuses communicate.
Out of every single music video on TH-cam I always seem to come back to this one, something about it just stirs something deep in my soul. Isn’t it wonderful how music can make us feel. Thank you god.
That solo at 3:15 just touched my soul man! Everything is just perfect! The sound of that synth gives me goosebumps and tears falling down my face of pure happiness and sadness at the same time
Cory man...One man machine beast - Bass feet, comping left hand, shredding right hand. Triple tiered goodness, not to mention your feel and listening skills to everything happening around you
I just discovered Cory last night going through youtube searches and WOW what a find. I haven't felt this inspired by keyboardist playing since I discovered Keith Jarrett in the 80's.
It's been a couple years since I first saw and heard this, but it still pops up in my suggested videos on YT. Litteraly everytime I listen to it, I hear something new. Take 3:15. Yoran leaves so much space here. The camera is pointed at his left hand, expecting him to go for a rim-click, as did I. Yet he chooses not to. Don't judge me if you did feel this coming, I'm a bass player not a drummer, but I think this shows the guy has such a feel for dynamics. It's just insane. One of the best live performances by two world class musicians. Period.
No matter what he plays, no matter how well he plays it...you can always tell where it all started for him... And that to me is WONDERFUL, for him...and for us.
Brian Reginald Baker So true...... Same as me, this piece became my signature tune from the very time i heard it. It helps me mend some broken pieces from a far.
You don't get a call from Cory without being a killer. Don't know much about drumming but I like what I hear. Clean, uncluttered, tasteful, no overplaying.
I've lost the count of how many times this piece of true art has given me inner strength. I'm not religious. But this feeling you get by consuming the flow of harmony, must be as close as it gets. A true Thanks!
How can one man with just a drummer do so much? 🤯 Chords, bass, rhythm, solo, adjusting drawbers, list goes on. I can hear this on any given day and it’s just as rewarding as the first time. Raw talent. Hard to find these days.
I can imagine the young composer meditating on a special day with his mother...... A priceless moment. One unforgettable place. Perhaps a carnival ride they shared on a sundrenched afternoon. A joyful Cory as a boy, guided through the park by her loving hand...And he, with a hand full of colorful ballons.... The movements of this masterpiece form a soft whimsical, almost weightless dance of notes from the beginning, to the expressive driving vamp at crescendo...Resolving back to the tender melody at the resolution, leaving the listener feeling the love he felt in his portrait of love... For the love of mother....Kissed by GOD! Beautiful.....Amazing!
OMG.....what a beautiful interpretation of this (or any) music. Your poetic illustrations of what the piece meant to you were very moving. I'm really taken by what you wrote. Thanks for sharing your thoughts - stated with such grace and class. We need more of that around here.. !! Gorgeous words indeed..!!!
Unusual technique- one foot playing bass pedals while the other rides the swell- and those yelps of joy- man, what a SOUND! So warm and big with those keyboards.
I just love listening to this music. He mentioned Billy Preston and I'm a fan as well. Cory is the music here. You have to be the music to play it so wonderfully and with passion. Bless his parents in Heaven for showing him the way to life's purpose and joyful desire to be this fine musical young man. Bless you, Cory, for your inspiring music...and yeah, some musicians just flow naturally in the creative joy of doing what they love...for life. I feel privileged to play as well, yet I enjoy hearing others like him, also exploring such beauty in creating wonderful moments like this.
Enjoying all the comments on the synergy between Cory Henry and Yoran Vroom. Something I yearn for in particular. Brad Mehldau is another favorite keyboardist of mine, and he and Jeff Ballard also produce lots of those "oh my!" moments. Great to find another like pair. Loving it.
It wasn't really a key change since he remained in the same key (at 5:00 he's on the same chord as he was at 4:50), but that chord progression was from another planet nevertheless :)
It made Cory's sing too...you could tell it hit him; he couldn't shake his head fast enough! I would be joyous too if I had his talent! He's a miracle!
Cory Henry was touched by the Garment of Jesus Christ at the early stage of his Life, when we rendered His HEART, MIND and SOUL in giving Praise, Glory and Honor to GOD ALMIGHTY through the Hammond Organ.
Cory and Yoran make these instruments speak. When you can display the ability to make someone feel some sort of emotion, its truly a magical experience. Extremely high level of coherence with the listener being displayed with this. Thats what music (art) is all about. Many emotions spark form this. Thanks for sharing.
Cory your talent is at an extreme level. Your facility, comfort level, and instantaneous creativity proves you are a genius. You are also very humble tour guide. Your interpretations are excursions to beautiful yet unknown worlds, and your live performances invite audiences to participate in the thrill of your musicality and passion. Your creativity is a delight for the musical intellect. I can think of only one other musical genius in your class of giftedness, Peter Beets (Is it Wrong to be Right?). I've worked with the exceptionally gifted (genius level) for years, and just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your gift. You are more than a musician...IMHO, your gift is from above, and reflects on our most awesomely creative God.
What an awesome track.Cory is from the future. His playing is unparalleled. Yoran is a phenom on drums. This is a timeless piece that speaks in so many levels, all we have to do is listen.
Love Yoran's playing, it really speaks to me, his musical feel is just awesome, and it's not about showing off his chops (which I know he has) but about musical communion. Lovely!
I am sure that Mr. Henry doesn’t read these posts as he has a vast fan base by now. My three favorite pieces by him by far are Gerorgia, and the two other pieces he and Mr. Vroom have performed on Vrpro 2015. These 3 pieces are incredible for the following reasons. In listening, I noticed a few simple things. How in sinc these players are. It is like Mr Vroom has anticipated every gesture and every nod. Remarkable commitment by him. His skill although it may sound simple is very complex in nature. As for Mr Henry. His right hand is stellar and shows the glitze, but please imagine for a second that the left foot has to function through all of this. The subtle control of the organ register sounds while playing at full speed is shifted on the fly. All this is synced with Mr Vroom and with gestures. Now imagine this, as he is playing, he is controlling the speed of the Lesly speaker and he controls the rotation speed of the horns which produce tremolo, which is magic unto the style. I am not sure how the heck this is done, but that along with controlling the swell or volume at the same time makes one wonder how it is possible. I like it. It is moving. I myself create stories using video content that I produce and I try to find magic at every location I visit to create a story. These guys should be proud of themselves that they have created a compelling story that will endure. Each time I revisit these videos, I understand more.
I’ve probably listened to this hundreds of times back in 2016-2017.. got me through some of the hardest times in life
Same here same here...
Yea, me too...
Dude seriously. Song says so many things that we cant express with words
I'm still listening to it
Beautiful.
The presence of Yoran Vroom in the solo is just unbelievable
the drummer is absolutely sublime. He carefully listened every single notes Cory played doing his best to offer great music.
the drummer is so relaxed yet - he is dropping a lot of sense with those sticks - Jeeeeeeeeeeeez
can't even describe how many times I've listened to this. staggering music making. 💕
Me too! lol
I bet I am catching up to you!
I can't describe how many times I've tried to like this comment
Me too. It's incredible
It's impossible to become bored of this piece of music, I defy any person to do so.
And Yoran Vroom is a magnificent drummer.
exactly!
defintely
Amazing!...
Totally agree!
Happy he is not killing his talent by idols or something stupid like that
Around 3:53, Yoran waits for Cory to finish his phrase before hitting the cymbal and you can see Cory smile afterwards. That's truly telepathic communication between musicians folks.s

That's an awesome display of what great musicianship is about.Great observation Chris.
04:09 he reads mine opening the filter ; )
and not only that he automatically keeps filling in the matching kick till the solo ends.
That makes me smile a million times.
Man, that is one good drummer...
No one, and I mean no one, has mastery of the Hammond B3 like Cory. Forget his chops, voicing and phrasing, they are other-worldly. Genius on display.
Another little thing I spotted: at 3:16 Yoran almost hit the snare but at the very last moment decided not to (similar to 3:54 when he waits for Cory to finish the phrase). It's unbelievable how these two geniuses communicate.
Peter Azor 3:54 must’ve been rehearsed 😭
When I’m in a bad mood, I come back and listen to this. Never fails to lift my mood - every time. 👍🏻
For the record, November 2019, and things haven’t changed ❤️
May 2020... still here ❤️
Same! I can't seem to get tired of it.
Cory, you are the reason i started taking piano lessons. Thank you
Awesomeness..... he is the reason u started playing piano good stufff!!!!!!
Out of every single music video on TH-cam I always seem to come back to this one, something about it just stirs something deep in my soul. Isn’t it wonderful how music can make us feel. Thank you god.
This takes me back to the middle of the pandemic, when I would spend nights drinking soju with my friends over Zoom because of the lockdown.
Cory Henry is so underrated. He needs more attention! The chemistry between him and that drummer are great too
2020 now . I think it's pretty different now. He's a huge star
There's something about his playing that brings so much emotion
Man this tune is soul stirring. Something about it hits something deep in your spirit and moves you.
That solo at 3:15 just touched my soul man! Everything is just perfect! The sound of that synth gives me goosebumps and tears falling down my face of pure happiness and sadness at the same time

Eitan Levine Well put sir.
Plus tremolo and volume. Too many layers.
Exactly! Right leg also works like a beast! :D xD
Not to mention storytelling...
Don't forget distortion on the Leslie.
The solo is one of my favorite solos of all time. Such a great build-up and storytelling! A lot of beautiful lines.
Drummer is next level
100%
I just discovered Cory last night going through youtube searches and WOW what a find. I haven't felt this inspired by keyboardist playing since I discovered Keith Jarrett in the 80's.

Brian Reginald Baker You preachin’!
I dont get it
I listen to this music at least five time a day, 365 days a year since 2016. HEART AT MIDNIGHT, an irreplaceable Guardian Love to a Child.
The Hammond is reborn under this man's fingers. Truly remarkable artistry. Love love love.
Everything Cory Henry touches, becomes gold! He is a poet!
damn awesome drummer man!! he knows what he's doing

This is the place right here with this track where I get to vent after a long day of work. It is like a pill for my soul.
Cory Henry has breathed new life into the Hammond. His style is SO accessible and playing, joyful!

Key change at 4:53 makes my heart sing! My God!
Anglophone ou Francophone... La même sensation à ce passage 😍
La misma sensación para todo el mundo alli, mi amigo.

This is moving.. These guys are painting with far more then 64 colors OMG!!
This is one of the most disgusting display of musicianship, improv, and collaboration! I've seen in YEARS! Thank you Cory for raising the bar!
I know, it's quite grotesque isn't it.
cant believe this stuff.. i play it over and over again
3:52 to 3:56 incredible timing on both their parts... such fruitful intuition my lord 0_0

Oh my Rasta , i love the socks and the goldfingers , thank you for all these years with YOU !
What a tribute to his mother
For the ones who were questioning about the synth he uses in his Solo: That is supposedly a Moog 'minimoog' Voyager XL... sounds really nice...
So Happy Ive Stumbled upon this guy. This performance was masterful. So cool how it comes back home at the end.
These two can just walk into any band on stage and take over anytime and I'm just happy tyo sit on the floor and listen. Bravo!!
All the verses of this song are magnificent, especially that last jazzy one, the drummer is so coordinated 😮😮😮

The greatest of this time fr! Them two click very well musically
It's just speechless to see how they freely and naturally handle the beats crossing 3/4 and 6/8...

God bless you all (and the Hammond b3 too ...)
i cried. cant wait for it.
