Look at these guys' faces, how much they are enjoying their jobs, Michael's facial expressions are off the charts. Don't you wish you got that kind of feeling from your job? Anyway, here I am back listening to this 8+ years after it was uploaded. This started off beautiful, but at around the 8/9 minute mark it starts to get magical, almost mystical; first the musicians go there, then the audience joins them. One of my all time favourite performances in terms of musicality and interaction between performers and audience.
u just read my mind, i was fired yesterday from a job i hated and was thinking the same thing, i wish in the future i can play and make people like then
I like their faces it shows how much they enjoy what they are doing
Who is watching this in 2020... I'm still enjoying this in 2020 during COVD-19 lockdown.
I am!!!
Lol I am here too
This is one of my go to clips..... True clinic 🤗
i am here to!
yes sir
2024 e estou aqui novamente
Eu amo esse Cory Henry ❤
This was like musician's church. And Cory was preachin'.
Hahhahaha agreed!! Amen 🙌🙌
Impactful service
Amen aannndddd a men!
It now now time for the OFFERING!
Cory was speaking a language that every one in the house understood. i which to be part of such crowd
I consider the bassist to be especially talented. He can do a face solo while he plays a bass solo.
+Derek O'Connell He's the bassist, and leader of Snarky Puppy. He does that a lot.
+Derek O'Connell Michael League, absolutely incredible player in his own right
+Derek O'Connell haha
+Derek O'Connell Relative to the face he is the "Keith Jarrett" of the bass. Fortunately
he doesn't insult the audience like Keith
+Derek O'Connell ahaha
Best crowd in the WHOLE WORLD!!!!!! Cory was truly appreciated.
Brazilian people broooooo, we are like that!
That's how Brazilians do it ;)
LOVEEEEEE Brazil!!!!!
This is why they always go "COME TO BRAZIL"
Ikr
Made it 16 days into 2023 before I NEEDED to watch this for the 400th time. One of the best snapshots of Corey and Mike ever and with the Beautiful people of Brazil ❤️ it is the same as the first view every time. If this ever gets deleted from TH-cam I will cry for days 😂
My friend if this ever gets deleted you come to me - I downloaded the mp3 file years ago just in case
@@Kbbrianne that is awesome. ❤️
Only 400? You ain't no real fan.
@@johnsuggs7828 no, unfortunately I had to stop watching to eat. I'm so selfish 😅.
@@sathingtonwilloughby2347 Eat Shmeat. Take me for instance. I've been watching non-stop for 58 hours. They'll have to drag me out......LMAO.
This genuinely made me tear up. The music, the reaction from the crowd, just for a few moments just felt like the worlds problems melted away and people were together in harmony and just being in the moment. Truly wonderful. The energy from that crowd, you can feel it even though you aren’t there.
Every time I hear Cory Play it’s kinda like that
Literally one of the most amazing and beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard in my entire life; peak communication and musicianship from all three performers.
Although over 1M people viewed this video before me I don't think anyone enjoyed it more. Bravo!!
I feel for the baby boy rolling on the carpet. 20 Years later as he collects his Corey Henry Lifetime Achievers Award he will tell a story how he fell in love with music...but really recall this day..and it haunts him for life.
8:21 you can see it on Corey's face that he didn't intend to miss that bass part, he just got so lost in that harmony for a second he had to stick with it :)
I love this so much
Hello brother Ian
His music taste and technique are just SCARY! Probably one of the best keyboard player ever born!
Holy shit never heard a groove so good my neck almost broke off
Hahahhahah
It was good wasn't it
Alex Gotcha
Good music as always but bad sound engineering
@Dexter Mors lovelee
I was so glad when they 'gave the drummer some' 😃🔥 Dammit he deserved it !!!! He was crisp and supportive through out & patient until his spot !!!
JAG GWR Ra perfect analysis......ur right
Almost 25 minutes in F sharp without ever getting bored: simply awesome!
I think this is the best jam I have ever seen.
It is bruh....it is 😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think the difference between these guys and so many other technically skilled musicians is that these guys play for other people and for communication, not just for themselves.
what
Not just putting on a show but loving the show itself. They are all so impressed and enthralled with one another on stage.
we`re all different. simple truth. no need to point out what we already know.
Totally agree with you... We listen and connect as listeners
I think its the other way around, some technically strong players play mostly for others, what they want to hear. Meanwhile these guys here play for themselves, for the sake of the music not the audience.
I'm watching this in 2022 and still enjoying it
This is the greatest jam I've ever seen! This is what music does. Love it!!!
That might be the single most enjoyable musical experience of my life. I wish I was there.
Same!
I feel the same way.
Agreed
cory played so hard his socks fell off
We lost a great man and musician in George Duke last year. Cory Henry will carry the baton.
Big shoes to fill
Mario Kirk Big shoes indeed...but I think Cory can handle it ;)
I know practice 8hours a day. That's a full time job
Mario Kirk Right! I'm a full time musician and a college student and I wish I had 8 hours a day to practice LOL!!!!
No doubt
Pre show talk: "Hey mate, what should we play? I don't know, something will come out."
A masterpiece I say. Thank you Lord. GOD may bless you guys.
After all, God likes music and this...is music!
Music like this is all about giving you what you didn't know you needed or wanted. And when it hits, man it HITS!
One of the greatest live performances i've ever seen.. this is irreplaceable and completely unique! Incredible feeling and vibes shown through music, only pure genius.
This is why I love youtube!! Awesome experience and through youtube I feel like I was there
Probably already mentioned, but can we take a moment to appreciate Cory's amazing passages at around "9:30-10:07". It feels like he's entering another world, and we get to see a glimpse of that. Stunning! 😍
#ditto
It sound familiar with a song i can’t remember the name off
Any help?
@@fritesaucisseha ha it's sounds like "Don't stop me now" by Queen
@@fritesaucisse stevie wonder
@@fritesaucisseparts of it are quotes from Corey's Lingus solo along with a circle of fifths progression.
Been listening to this for several weeks now...it never gets old!! I learn something new from it whenever I sit down to play along 😁🎹
You’re dedicated!
Found this well, sort of heard cory a bit. But then this... showed it to my 18 year old daughter and 20 years son. My son said" said dad" " dont play it too much its just too special".
Im a keyboard player and most people don't understand how hard it is to play cords in your left hand like he is doing.People here me please Im left handed and I can't play those cords in my left hand the way he does. This is a gift from God people please believe me,OMG.
What are you talking about I'm left handed and chords especially in that key are very easy to play like what Corey did you just gotta listen and work at it
What am I talking about ? So I guess you can play like Corey ,Ok baller shot caller you post a video and lets see you get anywhere close to the cords he's playing cause talk is cheap, and actions speak louder than words .All I see on here are a bunch of spineless people hiding behind there computer and talking smack about people they an it got the guts to face.
Blair Chatmon No i cant play like Corey but no it is relatively easy but what makes it hard and what separates Corey from others is that there are many other skills that have to be seasoned in our studies soloing, walking the base and he has all of that. I am fairly proficient in left hand chording but cant walk the base because i invested time into one skill more than the other.
I feel ya.Yeah I've worked on recording and song writing man .I do apologize if I came across sort of harsh in my response. However it's really hard to play those 13and 11the cords in sequence like he's playing
Blair Chatmon Its no problem but you're also right about Corey he can do that stuff plus Oscar's stuff effortlessly. I also take for granted that I have perfect pitch so imagining what im going to play in my head away from the board is a bit easier. I gave up on the piano when I was younger because no one wanted to show me how to use left hand chords first because for some odd reason i picked up on progressions well but in the grand scheme of things you're right because learning how to play the base is what most of us were taught first
9:00 - 10:10 = some of the best melodic phrases in years.
Goosebumps. When Cory started to catch on to the theme and then Michael alters his bass line? They play so well together.
Couldn't agree more. Was scrolling to see this comment
really
I am pretty sure that is a supernatural connection to a world of magic melodies.
If you never been to a southern black church jam session between rehearsal... That time frame is what it’s like... Really the whole clip..lol
There are very few videos I watch start to finish. This is one of them
Can't stop!
Please never ever remove this from TH-cam...
This might be the greatest video ever
This has to be the best crowd I've ever seen. They appreciated all the wonderful subtle things Cory did. Great listeners. Cory plays the kind of stuff that connects instantly with people and makes it almost impossible not to respond spontaneously. That's what playing music is all about. Connecting with that space inside of us to give a gift to others.
this is one of the best jams ever
what sucks is I can only hit like once... I just wanna spam the like button over and over... amazing
THIS BASSIST HAS THE BEST BASS FACIALS I HAVE EVER SEEN
check out Thomas Müller from Bayern Munich - he looks like his twin. Odly enough both seem to have a huge sense of humor!
I can't watch that shit man. Makes me cringe lol. Great to listen to though!
Oh yes! This is too good. As a performance musician, it just feels so right when you here music that is complete improv. It's one thing to read music and play it and it's another thing to play it with heart.... But it's a whole different spectrum when music is just made from scratch live. Love the fact that great minds and talents can come together and make something incredible because this takes both extreme smarts and soul.
This is literally the best crowd I've ever seen
🇧🇷
It's around midnight right now here in Denmark. I just made myself a huge white russian (yes, the drink) and now I gonna sit in my best chair and watch this video again. Perfect life.
12:26 I could not hold it....So i just shaked my body like crazy! great tune
why did i took so long to discover this guy....feeling so good....
i could never be a cameraman on this... all my shots would be shaky from the groove
Miles Farnan hahahaha am with u bro am dead some save best sound ever
Get that gimbal for your go pro! 😝
Steady cam my friend !
Still watching in 2022, improv master 🎹
This is the most entertaining audience I've ever seen.
Simplesmente brutal!

Watched and listened to this on loop all morning. Head constantly bobbing in the groove. Almost spiritual experience. Thank you Cory and Michael.
When I want to talk with someone I always find myself coming here to talk with this synth.
And I must confess, he's so wise!
I can only receive good advices from him.
I’ve come back to watch this so many times
Cory Henry, young man, young man, young man, really. That's all I can say every time I hear you play. Thank you.
That dude with the red shirt to the left is having the time of his life.

Been listening to this piece for years.... and the conversation between Cory and Michael never cease to amaze me. They talked for nearly 20 minutes, yet very few words were spoken
this music literally had me crying..WOW
I never thought I would listen to a whole 24 minute jam sesh. . . Twice
Really they are the best and i am proud, they are my brother in christ jesus
Still enjoying this masterpiece in 2022 ❤
Lord, how did I miss this! Blessed my whole soul!!!
My body felt everything the groove the music, the unity, the goosebumbs! The best session ive ever experienced.
Blessed love coming from the Caribbean islands where we are influenced by Reggae , Soca, Calypso and Afro Latin Beats I must say this jam was IRIE yeah mon. I was in a deep vibe and meditation. One Love keep up JAH work. Music comes from the ALMIGHTY
This can never get old..........CLASSIC
No lie, I watch this joint EVERYDAY! Like ten times a day
May 2024. I may as well start commenting every time I watch it 😂 now for the 100th time 😂😂
Just saw Cory Henry live at the High Sierra music festival. Hands down one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life. Everyone that was at the show felt the same way. Magic. Truly amazing experience. Sending immense gratitude to the whole band for a very special special time! TELL EVERYBODY!
9:30 is my favorite note of all time.
Listening to this for, at least, the fiftieth time. Each time is like watching the first time. To get super spiritual, it reminds me of The Jazz of Preaching, by Kirk Byron Jones: the song is known, but how the Spirit will move the musician/preacher when standing before the people is not known. The call and response from the musicians together, then from the crowd, and finally to the individual watching the video is unbreakable. Thank you to whomever recorded this workshop. It makes me want to be a better preacher.
Dude in the red t shirt gets it🙌bless his heart
man this is so great, this what I like about music, also great vibes from the audience!
Hi brother
Between 9:48 - 9:56 is the sound I want when I turn on my LAPTOP!!!
When music speaks like this there is nothing in my heart but love and joy.
Great drummer as well! Very humble and of service to the guys. 💎
What a crowd!

CREEPYING INTO YOUR SOUL WITH THIS SMOOTH GROOVE
usually, when I hear a trio play, I always find my favourite musician within that trio almost immediately and intuitively. Here, this is impossible to decide. Absolute brilliance in all three of them
Cory is of course insane - but that bass player flooding some sweet sounds and I love it.
Benjamin Davidson
He needs more appreciation!!!
You gotta be awesome to be the bandleader of Snarky Puppy.
That bass player is the truth period!
ITS MICHAEL LEAGUE!!! A LEGEND ALREADY
He sucks like you if you white you will get recognize just because your white even if you suck like him
Yessir!...Feel is amazing, I enjoyed this! Phenomenal.....I'm excited about this groove...lol
Meu Deus !
