    In the Bible, particularly in the Old Testament, there are guidelines regarding clean and unclean foods that are outlined in the books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy. These guidelines were given to the Israelites as part of their religious and ceremonial laws. The distinctions between clean and unclean animals were not based on health or nutritional considerations but rather on ritual purity.
    Clean Animals:
    Clean animals were considered suitable for consumption, and they generally had split hooves and chewed the cud. Examples of clean animals include cattle, sheep, goats, and certain types of deer.
    Leviticus 11:3 (New International Version):
    "Whatever has a divided hoof and chews the cud among the animals, you may eat."
    Unclean Animals:
    Unclean animals were considered impure, and the reasons for their classification were not always explicitly stated. Examples of unclean animals include pigs, camels, rabbits, and certain types of seafood.
    Leviticus 11:7-8 (New International Version):
    "And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you."
    These dietary laws were specific to the Jewish people and were part of the Mosaic Law.
