Can we take a minute to appreciate how far this fresh build has been driven immediately after “finishing”! The truck and the adventure are sick!

Not a Toyota guy but I appreciate everyone’s adventures. I’ve been all up and down from LaPaz to the Rubicon in 30 yrs of wheeling. It never gets old and you still see stuff you missed every time. NV, AZ, UT and CO too. Watching these as I rewire my old Ramcharger makes me realize how lucky I was growing up in Vegas.
About to start exploring the east coast and south now since moving to SC.

Death Valley magic, even more impressive coming from the PNW. Your compilation conveys the desert feel/sensations/noises and one could almost smell the whiskey & ghost pepper sauce. Nice design of your front bumper, many people go overboard and mess up the air flow, affecting cooling, mpg and dynamics. I can't see any significant sway in the suspension, considering the center of gravity of the camper; that should help both off road and badly engineered mountain tarmac. I am appreciating more and more the "everyday living" segments: camper's plumbing, food, drink and making new "friends". Looking forward to your next segment.

I use to live in Beatty as a kid. I would ride my dirt bike often to Rhyolite. Back then/1970ish a very old lady lived at the train depot. She had nice trees and plants so lots of shade and sold ice cold drinks which I would buy after a hot day of motorcycling.

1:41 Word from the wise, put a ziptie through the D-shackle bolt and secure it as they can back out from vehicle vibration. True story; I was at Burning Man and had my rig parked on the playa. A new friend was looking over my rig and told me I should secure my D-shackle with wire or a ziptie. I ignored his advice. After Burning Man we were going to Vegas to decompress. I was in the middle of nowhere in Nevada and I heard a clunk and my tire kicked something red up. I saw something flying in my mirror so I pulled off wondering what just fell off my FJ Cruiser. It was my D-shackle. If someone had been behind me it would have been bad. Now I secure my D-ring bolts.
5:40 It is ok to mix whiskey and beer but don't invite tequila ...
13:54 What an epic view, so lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Full on dry dessert with snow top to bottom on the mountains.
    Great video!

What an incredible area. The valley looks so barren and appears as if it would be 100f+, yet it's cold and surrounded by snowy peaks. The mind is challenged to comprehend. I am rarely jealous of anything, but a girlfriend that can make off-the-cuff jokes about a welded axle would tempt me. Your closing thanks us for coming along, but really, thank you guys for sharing your adventure.

Greetings from the once more frozen Okanagan - again you picked a good winter to skip out on. The KC lights were "the thing" to have back in the '70's even, though then we'd hear the big V8 slow down and the alternator belt squeal when we put them on! :) The new LED lights are wonderful. Stay well and travel safe you two.

For reference, there is a big BLM fine for feeding those donkeys. Got warned a couple times by the locals in as I was patching a tire in Beatty where the herd goes to hang out. Also, just between Rhyolite and Death Valley, there is a kind of arts colony/outdoor sculpture park if you take the access road to the north.

Secondly, what are your thoughts on cast iron over stainless steel when cooking on gas? I have both and use difficult to heat up cast on wood fires and s/s on precious gas/diesel (less easily available fuel).

This is such a fun adventure- I was going to do something "similar" with one of my boys (22 now) and our rigs- but Covid and a broken wrist (his) shut that down- so I'm living vicariously through you two now- just love this! I do have one question- the rig looks a little low in back- I understand it's heavier back there- is there a way to pick it up more with maybe heavier lift springs? Seems kind of nose-light... otherwise one of the coolest rigs out there.
