I think I would enjoy the shaking of the van and the howling of the wind to lull me into a deep and dreamless sleep...😊 Thank you for sharing this adventure...
We were in Alta and Tromso in February and I realized that no photo can really do the fjords justice. I was awestruck. Norway is the most beautiful place we have visited to date. Retired in 2022 after 40 years behind a desk and loving every second of exploring as many places as we can while our health is good. Thanks for the videos. Cannot wait to return.
It is hard for me to understand how somebody can say that they are fed up with winter. Here, in Zambia, our winter is either on a Tuesday or a Wednesday. The snowscapes and the light absolutely fascinates me. Thank you for another excellent video.
I am watching from South America. I miss snow but I live in the mountains (Andes) so I enjoy watching your videos ...... the scenery is beautiful. Thank You!
Jarl, your resilience and adventurous spirit are truly inspiring! Watching you navigate the challenges of winter camping in such extreme conditions is a testament to your passion for van life. The way you’ve captured the raw beauty of the blizzard and the serene silence of the snowstorm is breathtaking. Stay warm and safe out there! #VanLife #WinterWonderland #AdventureSpirit
Watching these videos is heaven on earth for me. I can only dream of being in such freezing weather and with blankets and warm food. It would be so much fun. I hate summer.
In all your misery, I loved it all. That had to be hard on you. Thanks for sharing these times along with the great ones. We just love following you along brother! Stay safe, warm and cozy Jarl. God bless!
I had just filled my Dodge Cummins Diesel truck, three propane cylinders, and packed my camper with food in the warm valley when a massive blizzard hit us and I got stuck in the cold high Rockies only 40 miles later. We were there four days. To save propane I did not run the generator in my camper that runs on propane and let the diesel engine in my truck idle for electricity, which uses a very low amount of fuel per hour. I had about 38 gallons of diesel fuel when we got stuck. The truck uses about 1/2 gal per hour idling. I shut the truck down at night. We only used propane for heat, the refrigerator and cooking, so a little went a long way. Only the refrigerator ran at night on battery and propane. We had two cell phones that had a signal and a CB Radio that worked well. We were warm, comfortable and safe, but it was nice when the Sun came out and the snow plows showed up. I calculated we could have stayed for two to four more days without scrimping.
This was the perfect video to relax with after a long, hard day! There is amazing beauty in the storm when we look for it! I love how you appreciate even the small things and give attention to things most wouldn't. Thanks for the amazing video! Stay safe.
Great video Jarl . The town you were stranded in was so picturesque. I don’t think I would have slept a wink in that kind of wind . Beautiful ending with the northern lights . 😊
Dear Jarl, I can understand your frustration with the continuous storms. The quality of the content that this channel offers, has improved so much, that is now on a documentary production level. So one more time I want to say thank you for the great content, and send you our warmest regards from Greece!
Norway is such a fabulous country! I was only there for a couple of weeks a few years ago, but that was easily enough time to fall in love with the place and its warm, welcoming people! Apart from Alaska, I can't think of a better place to live in a warm, cosy and well kitted-out van! I will definitely keep on watching your videos and experiencing Norwegian van life vicariously through them!
I wonder, with such a following, do people sometimes tend to lean on you to provide comfort in their lives? I certainly find your winter videos warm, comfy, and inviting. Can’t wait for warmer climate exploring as well.
It sounds like people find a lot of comfort from the videos, maybe it is the long streches of calm scenery, or maybe it is the weather that is so powerful, but I really appreciate being a YT emotional support dog☺️
Such beautiful skies up there, like opal. I was sorry for you in that shaking van! No sleep or little sleep must have been tough. Winds must have been circling round the building where there should have been shelter. Thank you for the last shots of the northern lights. I have seen them once, but that was some years ago. I miss seeing them.
I am going to make that Burger Sandwich Mr Jarl it looks Yummy.... Glad you have your Coffee and you are Warm the The Scenery is Fabulous .... Love Everything even the Wind . Beautiful ending Northern Lights Dancing through the Night .... Stay Safe Mr Jarl ❤
I like the numerous captions at the beginning of this video. Hamburger/burrito trick - excellent idea. 10:37 - your headlights do an excellent job of illuminating the road ahead at night. 14:20; Good that you topped off your van with diesel fuel. or gas - whatever. Prior to & during any storm, I'm sure you are well aware of fuel levels, propane, electricity, & gasoline/diesel fuel. I know I'd be preoccupied by checking fuel levels repeatedly. Good ole Truma Combi, keeping water HOT. Warm Regards from far away Reno, Nevada, U.S.A.

Wow, I dont think I have ever seen you in this precarious of a position with the blizzards in the snow. You came across being trapped, closed road, severe winds and show, and the unknowns. However, what a BEAUTIFUL trip to the top of the world. The blizzard was beautiful to watch from my warm comfortable home. LOL And the sound of the snowy winds actually put me to sleep!! LOL! I certainly enjoyed it. I will see this again. Delicious food and great coffee. Blessings.

So sorry that you have started to feel annoyed at the van rocking. We will never get bored or bothered by these. We just went through some big winds that actually shook the windows and put a strain on the walls. Great stuff ! Being rocked or shook to sleep is just like a sleeping pill. I'm always disappointed when I wake up and realize I have missed all the commotion. I guess I must be a rare bird. When I hear that Luke couldn't sleep because of the rain or wind flapping the tent walls, I'm thinking, "what a wuss"! You go out camping to be close to nature and when nature happens, he's bothered by it and can't sleep. ???!!! So glad you haven't reached that level of being bothered by nature. Jarl, I still consider you my favorite TH-camr who speaks during your videos. There's several great people who deliver a great outdoors experience but are silent and don't talk. It's nice to listen to nature doing the talking, but I'll end up with many, many questions that would be answered if they would only "speak up"". Thanks Jarl. You get to be annoyed, it's your program. You still give us some of the best videos of blizzards and hurricanes. I've been in both, many, many times and have never gotten annoyed yet. Since I am now an invalid, I doubt that I'll ever get there. I got out when the going was still good (wonderful).
Hey Thomas, thanks for your long and thoughtful comment! I will never be bothered with nature, it is really the sound and behaviour of the van, and my placement of the van that made it annoying:-)
Very exciting to see the North Cape of Europe and the beautiful snowy countryside, glad to see you caught some of the northern lights. I hope you can complete the journey to the east.👍

As long as I got hot coffee, fire, blankets, books, and a window to see the blizzard.….it would literally be my heaven on earth.

100% agree.
Amen to that!
You have to be crazy to do that
I feel like I’m in the car as well
In the beginning, when you said everyone else had left, that might have been a warning. This was last winter, so glad you stayed safe.
I think I would enjoy the shaking of the van and the howling of the wind to lull me into a deep and dreamless sleep...😊 Thank you for sharing this adventure...

Yes, a rocking van in storm would be a dream experience for many rather than an annoyance. But thanx for sharing your adventure.

I thought those nice new RV Vans had road jacks to put down to stabilize when parked. 👀🤔😎 N0?
No, that would cause a lot of trouble in this winter weather I am sure, better have less things that can break than more.

absolutely stunning! thank you
Thank you Gerald!
Would have been nice if you had gone to a restaurant and filmed your dinner and recorded other people and chatted with them - just an idea . Great show , thanks for the beautiful scenery .
I don’t really go to restaurants and locals in Norway are not very talkative
I enjoy your videos! Soon enough, you'll have sunny and warmer weather.
Thank you!
