    In the darkest days of the Pride Lands during the reign of Scar, Nala ventures away from her home in search of help. She travels far and wide, across deserts and jungles, with no food or water. She forges ahead through it all in hopes of saving her home and eventually Nala makes a discovery that is worth the journey that will save everything and everyone she loves: she finds the rightful king, Simba. During a time of great sorrow and destruction, Nala took it upon herself to seek salvation and succeeded, but how did she make that decision to go? What lead her to leave her Pride to go on this long, dangerous and uncertain journey? The truth... takes a dark turn.

      Too bad she contributes nothing to the overall plot other amthan giving Simba an heir.

    • @CarolinaMouse
      @CarolinaMouse 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@PlanetZoidstar Actually she serves the plot by being the one who gets the ball rolling on SIMBA COMING BACK TO THE PRIDE LANDS!!! She is his connection to home when she comes into the jungle chasing Pumbaa as evidenced by when she pins him..for the time in the film for those of you keeping score. When she pins him, he instantly recognizes this otherwise stranger to him as his childhood best friend and things progress from there both in terms of Nala and Simba's romance as well as the overall story itself. Do not devalue Nala much less her importance to the overall plot with such sexist and moronic comments just so you can not only be proven how wrong and uncouth you are for saying such a stupid thing that i'm sure you only said so your pathetic self can get the attention you so stupidly crave and think "Hey if I said this silly lil thing I'd get attention" when really things like the statement you made should not be made without proper research and rewatching first to see if such a statement is true when...it's not in this case. If you watch the movie and REALLY pay attention you would have and perhaps one day you will (though I highly doubt it at this point and rate) that Nala is not just a lioness who does, yes, give Simba an heir...oh wait, she really gives him an heiress first (Kiara who you meet in the sequel and is the one who will succeed Simba as queen of the pride lands in time) then an heir by the name of Kion whom you meet in the Lion Guard series. But she is his connection to home when she comes back into his life and is the one who starts getting him on the path to go back to the Pride Lands and take down Scar-Rafiki just reinforces her and what she did in talking to him, telling him what's going on and pleading with him to come home and take his place in both the pride and in the Circle of Life as king...with Nala as his FIERCE and equally important queen.

    • @PlanetZoidstar
      @PlanetZoidstar 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CarolinaMouse You might want to rewatch Nala's scenes. She tries to get Simba to come back to the Pridelands but he flat out refuses, they have a fight and he storms off. He even then sulks by convincing himself going back wouldn't fix anything and that he can't change the past. He only comes back after seeing Mufasa in the clouds and Rafiki tells him he can run from the past or learn from it. So Nala had no bearing on him coming back. You could cut her out entirely, have Rafiki and Mufasa show up and nothing would change.
      And no, my criticism against Nala and her relevance to the plot has nothing to do with her gender. It's simply stating the fact of her irrelevance to the narrative. The romance between Simba and Nala was rushed and underdeveloped, considering how quickly they fall in love. Like, what, a few hours?
      I don't count Simba's Pride because it retcons the ending to The Lion King and I have a hard time buying Scar had a whole faction of loyal supporters who were not around or even mentioned in the first movie. I also do not count The Lion Guard because that retcons both movies. If we're meant to take TLG as canon then you need to explain where Kion was during Simba's Pride. Also Kiara would not lead the Pride, Kovu would, since The Lion King is a Patriarchal society.

    • @Theravingranter
      @Theravingranter 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      She is Disney Royalty but not a princess. Simba is the King. Nala is his Queen. Kiara is the unofficial Disney princess. I wish Disney would make a line called Disney Royals and Disney heroes so we can have figures of all the characters in their reapective roles or just have dolls. I really want more toys :S

    • @PlanetZoidstar
      @PlanetZoidstar 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Meh. Nala is overrated. The movie tries to make her seem strong but she always buckles under pressure when it matters most:
      Slips down and needs Simba to save her.
      Cowers while Simba at least tries to scare off the Hyenas.
      Says she will fight for the Pridelands but doesn't stand up for Simba when Scar accuses him fot Mufasa's death.
      Only joins the fight when Simba turns the tables on Scar.
      Not very indepentent.

    • @tlkfanrwbyfan8716
      @tlkfanrwbyfan8716 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Greatsaiyakirby You can’t blame her for needing Simba to save her. Nala without a doubt would NOT win a battle with Scar(especially including the hyenas, though they are unstable at this point) and Simba(though he lost to Nala) would most likely be the best chance they have

    • @PlanetZoidstar
      @PlanetZoidstar 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tlkfanrwbyfan8716 Given that Simba didn't really do that much besides fight Scar (who ran as soon as his Hyenas started losing to the Lionesses) I think Nala could have easily beat Scar. She's at the very least as good as Simba (arguably better since she pinned him and I imagine against Scar she could immediately go for a bite to the throat after pinning him) so I'm pretty sure they could have taken Scar and the Hyenas without Simba.

    • @tlkfanrwbyfan8716
      @tlkfanrwbyfan8716 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hmmm, looking back on the locations and characters in the 2 lion king movies (1994)(2004) the pridelands seems very similar to the place it's modelled after (hells gate national park, kenya) and the outlands to that of Somalia. The hyenas who reside in the outlands are all dark (a trait of most cushite people of somalia).When Disney sent people to give a detailed description for the movie, America and U.N. forces were entering the somali civil war and the threat of terrorism on Kenyan soil was greater than before ,represented by hostilities of the outlanders to the pridelanders .The movie had some real world facts.

    That song seemed a bit too dark for the original movie, but fits so well in the Broadway musical. If nature has any influence on the remake, nala would have to breed to the one or two males that dominate the pride. Perhaps since the nala running off was never explained, we will see why in the remake, like they tried explaining the beast's curse and other plot holes in the Beauty and the Beast remake.

    Well, I already knew that but I wanted to hear Isaac explain. And for all those who think Vitani is Scar's and Nala's daughter, no, she is not. What Scar did was attempted rape, because Nala escaped early enough and got exiled. Also, Scar only now got the idea of having a queen (and cubs) so the posibility of raping Nala early is excluded. If you think Nala is her mother because of Vitani's eyes( they are actually violet) or fur, there is this thing called a recessive gene.

    You're in for a real treat when you watch the broadway musical. I know that i was REALLY skeptical going in because I love the animated movie and thought that "A bunch of guys in costumes" couldn't come anyway close to replicating it. But then just after the opening circle of life song I was blown away and enchanted in a matter of seconds. and through that a learned there's a certain amount of magic of watching something live. all the actors were really into their roles and when the song be prepared came the actor who played scar began passion singing and looking at him you could really tell he was really getting into it. After you watch the play you should make a video on your thoughts about it. I'd love to hear it :)
