Pyro 7 is literally 🔥. Built in is the way it’s going. Messing around with connectors and dummy batteries takes time and on set or location time is money. Fair enough if you have a system already you may not want the outlay. I have a full suite of Atomos monitors but the Pyro 7 dual kit has blown them out of the water for speed and convenience when working with directors who want a lightweight monitor. They all have their place. If I’m asked to record ProRes Raw, my V+ wins. It doesn’t have to be either/or, use the right kit for the right project.
I have a Portkeys LH7P and a Smallrig V99 battery for my FX30's sport recording rig. I tried adding a really cheap Shimbol TP-Mini wireless system which uses NPF batteries or USB-C for power, but never found a decent place to mount it, so had a live stream set up for one game (where it worked pretty well) and didn't do it again. THIS DOUBLE SIDED BATTERY IS IT and only needs one power cable for two devices, which makes it even better!
I've been looking at the Hollyland Pyro 7. I have the Ninja V (Great Monitor) but need a few accessories so that I could hook it up to my RED Komodo. I like the setup you have, though
Feelworld monitors also have dummy plates built in. They are great and I use them with the mars 4k to clip them on. Great cheaper alternative for a monitor setup
Haha from the first day you commented, and every time I come back to my comments to reply, I always fall down a rabbit hole looking for a Feelworld monitor with a built in NPF power output. It was hard to find, but I’m glad to say that I’ve finally found it, 3 weeks later! 😂 The Feelworld FWF68S! Look great at a $179 price point! Maybe I’ll check it out soon! 🙏
I don't have a wireless system so I'm going with the Pyro system, however I'm getting that Dual NPF adapter too! I didn't know that existed and I rand out of space on my camera rig for the transmitter. Thank you!
i hear you...and if you (like you stated) have all the pieces to the puzzle already...could I suppose go without the hollyland "transceiver" but for someone who is buying gear from scratch... the atomos + acsoon + portkey adaptor is way more costly AND cumbersome (not to mention more POWER hungry) than JUST the hollyland monitor by itself both in design + sleakness etc but still creative of you to put that together with the gear you already have.
Yup! Exactly! For someone who doesn’t own any monitor, or they own a “bad” monitor that they want to upgrade, the Hollyland may be a great option!! The best solution for someone who needs a 7” monitor and knows they will need to transmit footage to another display, is the Hollyland Pyro 7! It’s literally the best deal I’ve ever seen! Especially if you plan on using that same monitor as a directors monitor! But if you already own another monitor, especially one like the ninja v with its amazing advanced features, just buying the transmitter/receiver set, with the double sided NPF dummy battery will be worth it. Before now, that setup took up so much space with the TX on top of the monitor, and it was heavy with 2 batteries. Now with the double sided NPF, the TX can be placed in the most ideal space behind the monitor, and it allows both to share one battery! Genius! 🤯🙌
Hey. So if you get the Hollyland Pyro Monitor or Transmitter, you can use the HollyView App on your phone. The Hollyland equipment connected to your camera via HDMI will send the video feed to up to 4 devices over its own Wi-Fi network. If you are using the Accsoon system (RX/TX). it works the same way and you can download the Accsoon SEE app for that.
Hey Craig! For both the Hollyland P7 and the Ninja V setup, if using it as an on-camera monitor, it will need to be connected from the camera to monitor via SDI or HDMI cable. If using as a director’s monitor, the Hollyland needs no wires at all, but the camera has to connect with HDMI/SDI to a Hollyland transmitter(TX) to send feed to monitor. It is the same even with my Ninja V setup (Cam to TX), except the monitor has to connect to a receiver via HDMI/SDI. Either way, at least one SDI or HDMI is required for any of these setups. Hope this helps!

I got a shinobi SDI and been wanting to upgrade. Image is pretty comparable?
Yep, very good. As I say, for speed and convenience on set it’s second to none. It all depends on your needs I guess.
Me who owns that white battery was watching & saying to myself "Ain't no way this is going to work as a battery bank " as you plugg
ed it in lol

Do you need an SDI to SDI cable to send receiver signal to monitor or can it be done wirelessly?
