In game 2, i'm just curious why ranger captain wasn't sacced immediately on the turn Chord Of Calling was played. He had to know something big was coming?
wait... is Ryan even able to do the kiki line to win the game? if you cast Rocco where X is 4, his CMC is 7 right? how can he then sac it to find 4 CMC thing? or does the X not count as CMC of the creature? or is that only on the stack? it's a bit confusing
Game 1 Rocco is sacrificed to Vivien for Felidar. How is that possible? Wouldn’t Rocco’s mana value have been 7 since it was cast for x=4 to get Arena Rector, making vivien get an 8 drop? I’m brewing my own Rocco list with similar interactions so wanted to double check
For example a walking ballista on the field will be a 0 mana permanent. The X only affects the mana value when the spell is on the stack, otherwise it's always worth 0.
Because as long as the fetch is uncracked they have slightly more life, and they can also have whatever colours of mana they want from it, instead of only two out whatever colours their deck has.
Multiple reasons. 1. They can get a shockland into play tapped to save on some life if needed. 2. They can wait until the last minute to see exactly what colors they might need (Swan Song vs Swords to Plowshares for example) 3. Certain cards benefit from people having certain lands. (Carpet of Flowers, etc.) 4. You don't telegraph what you're about to do until it's absolutely vital. 5. If someone flashes in an Aven Mindcensor or Opposition Agent, you can fetch in response. I hope this helps!
I still love when he says, “moves to Kraumbat”.
Falco being replaced by Rashmi made me laugh in the second game
Also, I absolutely love seeing Rashmi used, imo one of the more underrated cards out there. Great games!
I LOVE what chad and cal were doing game two. It’s always great to see uncommon strategies in these videos, even if it’s not completely optimal
“He moves to Kraumbat” brings me so much joy
I had to rewind to make sure I heard it right 😂
@@MintyMagicMTG keep an ear out. It’s a running joke that they always do the first time Kraum comes down each episode
I'm still hoping to see someone attempt this Rocco combo and eat a Rakdos Charm in response... 🤪
It's just not good enough a card.
@@Dracomandriuthus yea at least golgari charm stops breach.
@@Dracomandriuthus I think it might be in the right deck. All the modes are relevant
Rakdos charm can stop breach too
@@flameberga Generally speaking 2 mana do nothing spells aren't very good in cEDH. If you wanted to do something like that, you'd run Angel's Grace.
Ryan can't keep doing thissssss
j/k i'm a fellow Rocco main and it's hilarious to see the combo make it through interaction
Did the Rashmi player have a combo win I missed, or did they all just scoop to the inevitable value and combat damage?
We all just scooped! The writing was very on the wall.
It's not just the value, it's the lock. It is very hard to do anything against that board
Nice Rashmi win! I'm curious if it is a better commander to play big creatures compared to Kinnan big flips since they share so many cards.
That Rashmi deck is gas
The last Game was great! I'm not big fan of Falco anyway, but Rashmi Control has a Special place in my heart
This rashmi list i dig it. Feels like kinnan but different lol
Great games. Rocco really has done well. My Gaddock Teeg will have to shut that down ;)
No more partners - dull. But excellent video as always 🤘🏻
Second game featured two of my favorite commanders: Rashmi and Prosper. Both decks are so good
In game 2, i'm just curious why ranger captain wasn't sacced immediately on the turn Chord Of Calling was played. He had to know something big was coming?
That lock was hilarious. Love it
is it on purpose it sounds like Ryan says "Kraumbat" when Kraum attacks? 😂
Yes, it is a long-lived meme in the cEDH community. He does it in every episode when Kraum attacks the first time 😉

@@ingolf82X only contributes to mana value while the spell is on the stack; on the battlefield X is considered to be zero
Kraum-bat!!! Love it!! lol
Good ole Kraumbat... 😂
Rocco
If you would like to see more of CEDH staple Greater Gargadon on PWP, might I suggest my Legacy list be featured on an upcoming episode 🙏🏽
Is Zack playing on top of a table made of flubber? It won't stop moving and shaking.
...yes.

It's funny how at some point between 11:40 and 11:55 you say krumbat instead of combat

The X paid for a spell only effects its MV when its on the stack! When its on the battlefield the MV is equal to whatever is there sans X.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG thank you for the reply! That helps a ton

Elf druids for the win!
Kraumbat........
Can't spell Caterer without "Cat" Rocco cooking up again!

Just once I want to see a Falco win...
There's a few on the channel!
I like the podcast but struggle to hear the Jamaican. As bad as it sounds his voice is just so rough for radio
I have the same problem listening to Ashani I like the dude, but sometimes he can be hard to understand.
I wonder if he hears us in the same way. Like are we hard to understand for him but less so?
@@thanhavictus this just sounds stupid
???? 6cmc PLANESWALKER IS PLAYABLE????MM
It is a tutorable Birthing pod from the command zone. You are almost never casting it from hand
It's supposed to be cheated into the battlefield by Arena Rector. You're only casting it if you end up drawing it.
It’s been out for awhile now…A ton of pod decks have added viven
6 cmc "everyone is dead" effects are decently playable especially if you can fetch it from a rector.
It is often a win on the spot due to the combo lines it enables
