how many "artist" today can sit there live like this with just an acoustic guitar and sing the hell out of a song with no fancy effects. This is pure vocal talent
Pretty much all of them. The music they sing may suck but most of them are actually very good singers. There's plenty of vids out there of Ariana Grande or Demi Lavato live with no effects and minimal instrumentation just bringing it. Yeah the content is over produced, derivative and boring but they can still sing.
I remember when i saw this on MTV.. I was 13! Life was an explosion of joy, happiness, and love! I wanted to be everywhere and experience everything! I was wide eyed and full of wonder! I love the ST Pilots.. RIP Scott!!

I particularly remember listening to this song on repeat for over 20 hours while waiting for my plug to message me back that theyre in town.. Thankful and Blessed to be able to say im 2 years clean now!
I don't think one ever really does overcome one's daemons, one just learns to live with them. Scott had 48 great years. 48! I am only 26! If I can get another 22, I would consider myself a lucky man. He lived, he loved and he was loved. Forgive me, but I feel one can hope for so much less than that and still die a happy man.
Chapter1Tormented I agree completely . 14 shades and Chapter V and Illusion have a couple honorable mentions . But tbh they were just radio airplay friendly albums
@K S it was amazing for one reason, his voice was soo underrated. It was brilliant. Literally sounded like he was in studio. Front row, can't ask for more.
I was fortunate enough to be able to see STP live twice, and it was Absolutely EPIC! Scott Weiland and Layne Staley were 2 of the BEST vocalists of all time! R.I.P. to the both of them.
I look at the original and I'm headbanging. I look at this and I'm just chill. Both are good, it's like two different versions of the song set completely different moods, and that's why it's a masterpiece!
Scott's voice is angelic. Baritone indeed. Crazy how he can sound like two different singers at times. What a range. So glad I got to see STP in concert several times. He's singing with Angels nowadays.

That should have gotten a LOT more applause! My Lord that was just an AWESOME performance!
The soundtrack of childhood. Running around my stepdads shop while he was working on cars. Early 90's. Great memories. No responsibilities. Man. Where did the time go.....And all the great music. Rip to the 90's And all the great ones.
A 13 right :)
how many "artist" today can sit there live like this with just an acoustic guitar and sing the hell out of a song with no fancy effects. This is pure vocal talent
almost every single college kid that's douchey plays their acoustic and sing lol. Don't know what planet you're on.
Pretty much all of them. The music they sing may suck but most of them are actually very good singers. There's plenty of vids out there of Ariana Grande or Demi Lavato live with no effects and minimal instrumentation just bringing it. Yeah the content is over produced, derivative and boring but they can still sing.
He looked so god damn healthy here and sounded so good! How quickly you can digress with all the drug use. Love and miss ya Scott!
I remember when i saw this on MTV.. I was 13! Life was an explosion of joy, happiness, and love! I wanted to be everywhere and experience everything! I was wide eyed and full of wonder! I love the ST Pilots.. RIP Scott!!
I'm 65 love music since 1962 and your solo worthy of top 100 marks.
Well good music is timeless they say. Happy to see something recognize this kind of music
One of the best , if not the best. Phenomenal voice
The words “This is a song called Plush” still gives me chills
It's 2020 and we still haven't forgotten. The best voice to come out of the 90s. RIP
Been listening on loop for about an hour. I can't get over how amazing he was back then, and i wish i could have seen him at this time when he was alive and well. RIP scott, you're one of the greats.
Sam, if you're gonna insist on spelling 'you're' correctly, you'll get booted out of the TH-cam comments section. That's not the way it's done here.
Yeah seriously dude. Spell it like 'UR' or just flat out use the wrong 'your'. gotta speak like a teenager or an idiot or the TH-cam police kick you off for being too smart. Next time Sam, play dumb.
RIP Scott.. This is an amazing song done by an amazing person. I hope you found your peace brother...
We all cared and felt you.
still one of the greatest songs ever written and one of the greatest performances. Lets go back to the grunge era
As an addict, I understand the struggles you went through brother, the daily battles you fought. You no longer have to fight brother.....R.I.P Scott...Heart and Soul! Glad I grew up listening to your music.
Beautiful voice....no autotune. This is what i loved from the 90's singer n musician. So pure n great
Rip to one of the most talented singers ever.....
This song saved me... Seriously.. When I would be in horrible opiate WD I would just SCREAM this song with all the pain and soul I had in my body... I do not miss those times but I love this song and Im grateful for it.. Im just glad memories cant physically hurt me. I particularly remember listening to this song on repeat for over 20 hours while waiting for my plug to message me back that theyre in town..
Thankful and Blessed to be able to say im 2 years clean now!
Seriously fuck opiate WD. Don’t miss it one bit
Scott Weiland was a talented dude. I just wish he could've over came his demons.
***** You are correct, sir. No one overcomes their demons. They can only be controlled.
Chapter1Tormented a Staind fan too I'm assuming?
Staind's first 3 albums were amazing. Big fan of those, you bet.
Chapter1Tormented I agree completely . 14 shades and Chapter V and Illusion have a couple honorable mentions . But tbh they were just radio airplay friendly albums
RIP Scott. My favorite rendition of any STP song.
So great. Growing up, being in HS, STP was the band that helped me through. RIP, Scott. Gone but never forgotten.
One of the best live singers ever!!
One of the most underrated band from the 90’s, and he never got the respect for his vocals that he deserved.
I can listen to this all day.
This was Scott's finest moment. He had such a beautiful voice
His voice gives me chills. Such a beautiful voice. RIP, Scott.
still sends shivers down my spine
God I'll always love him and his voice
Unbelievable singer and songwriter best version of plush ever recorded....
best version of plush anywhere hand down!
I’m really not sure if a human being ever sang a song as beautiful and perfect as he did in this moment. When he was 100% there was no one better.
Better than anything out there today!
and it's not even close!
Song never gets old. RIP Scott
I see this dude. Was rooting for him. LOVE the music and his voice. Every time I hear STP, I feel elated and horribly sad at the same time.
This stands above even the amazing studio track. One of the greatest live cuts of all-time.
God damn I've watched this so many times. It's hauntingly perfect. What a talent. My God
I was front row in Illinois and saw him 3 weeks before he passed. His voice is like none other. RIP Scott.
Wow.great concert. Watched it many times on TH-cam. You're lucky to have been there and seen him. He's so missed.
Scott was such a true rockstar. I love this band so much.
I look at the original and I'm headbanging. I look at this and I'm just chill. Both are good, it's like two different versions of the song set completely different moods, and that's why it's a masterpiece!
STP was one of the few American bands my Japanese wife loved. She loved this song in particular. I so miss her. RIP Mai, 2/11/2001
I'm so sorry you lost her. Sounds like she was so young, too. 😢
Scott's voice is angelic. Baritone indeed. Crazy how he can sound like two different singers at times. What a range. So glad I got to see STP in concert several times. He's singing with Angels nowadays.
Amazing version...classic song ...they deserve more respect
