It's a good song no doubt but the greatest rock song ever? Objectively its not even close to being the greatest. Sales, popularity, lyricism, instrumental technicality, vocal performance, song structure, etc. It falls short in each of those categories when compared to every other rock song

Anytime I hear a STP song come on it always seems like a gift. And when I hear their songs come on in public it's probably one of the coolest feelings in the world.
I saw them in Las Vegas back in 1994. My brother and I went and it was our first concert ever. The opening band was Redd Kross. The experience was surreal. It felt like a haze of noise and sound but they could play. They played very well and at the time I didn’t appreciate how rare it was for bands to actually be able to perform live.
The entire band was SPOT ON here, and yes, especially Scott. While nothing would have turned out like it did without the past the way it was... man, Scott, when you were on you were the *BEST!*
I absolutely love how there was a minor gear issue and set of preferences that had to be overcome which resulted in such a fantastic performance. Bravo and well done!
