@@johnny.grubbs13 The hole was drilled into the bars because I got standard bars not made for my certain bike. The thumb controls have a pin that sticks out of the center made so the assembly does not move when twisting the throttle or any movement with the controls. With that they do not come pre drilled so I had to do it my self. Hope this helped🤙🤙
I'm thinking about putting similar bars on my Honda Shadow Spirit. Did you have to buy new throttle/clutch cables, brake line, etc.?? If the old ones worked back, did it make them feel snug like it doesnt have enough slack in them?
You know, I used the stock lines and I think there was enough slack for where I had my bars brought back too. I would try it without the lines first and see if it works on your bike👍🤙
I didn’t have to extend anything. The wires running to the start switch were tight when I put the bars on but I ended bringing the bars back a tad and nothing seems to be too tight anymore👍
I didn’t reroute those wires which if I were to do it again, I would probably reroute them or make them a couple inches longer. The wires are a little tight for my liking👍
Awesome video man, I'm ordering these Handlebars for my Shadow 1100, they look so sick. What is that paste you added? looks like toothpaste lol I'm sure it isn't.
The 4 main bolts that hold the bars on to the clamp. I forgot to put blue lock tight on and they ended up coming lose. Make sure to put lock tight on everything😂
I never did switch them out. If I were to do it again and had some extra money to spare I would get one that are just a couple inches longer to make it less tight
@@VanceSendsTV I'm buying the cables and brake lines 1 item at a time, dude. Today I just bought the brake lines. Next paycheck will be the throttle and clutch. I recommend TJ brutal customs shop. I'm buying stock plus 4 inches
I saw you drilling a hole..what was the purpose for the drilled hole..just taking notes that’s all.i want a set also
Brother, those bars look great!
Thank you, I love them so far
Stock cables?
@@carlosgarcia4520 Yes Sir, Stock cables, I did have to reroute the Clutch line through the other side under the gas tank.
I was curious I’m about to do an upgrade on my bike to some ape hanger’s I was curious what the hole drilled was for?

Will this Bars fit on a 2006 VTX 1300s with no mount adapter needed?
bro that look so good and nice bike i have a 2018 sofetail dose
I did that to my 2006 Harley Steet Glide, It does make for a better ride
Did you have to use cable extensions ? For throttle, brakes and clutch??
Hey guy did you have to change all your cables out for longer ones when you updated your ape bars?
Nope all stock cables
Great job man,
what throttle sleeve did you use?
The throttle sleeve is from TJ Customs
Hey how did you tune your carbs for your exhaust I have the same style exhaust and it cuts out on me when getting in the throttle hard
I made a video on installing the jets. It’s been so long I can’t remember what size jets I installed but I changed out the main and pilot jet on it

Thank you for the bar transfer video and ride. I’m confident now about getting a 10 inch bar for my Vlx.
Did u measure prior from purchasing the apes ? Or just eyed it and shot it
Just did some research on forums and these are what people recommend for stock cables so that’s what I went with
Did you have to extend your cables? I was looking at getting mini apes for my ‘05 vlx 600.
I didn’t have to extend anything. The wires running to the start switch were tight when I put the bars on but I ended bringing the bars back a tad and nothing seems to be too tight anymore👍
What about electric side did you have to route cables?

Why did you have to put a sleeve on there
For the throttle? I could have ran the stock one but I thought that the new one was funny
What size vans grips were they?
I believe 1 1/8
Honestly don’t recommend them any more. I’ve had them on a few bikes since then and there a little too thick for my liking. But they do look cool

@@VanceSendsTV Awesome, thanks!
I was born 68 !!! Those bars were gay then and still gay !!! no control DUDE !!!!!!!
Hello. What was the name of old (changed)handlebar? Thanks.
My arms get fatigued with my stock bars because my arms are short so Im wanting apes to angle them closer to me
My cables don’t reach in a 8” bar what can I do ?
Awesome video man, I'm ordering these Handlebars for my Shadow 1100, they look so sick. What is that paste you added? looks like toothpaste lol I'm sure it isn't.
Hell yea man, it actually is toothpaste. Lol I just needed something to mark the spot😂
@@VanceSendsTV so what exactly are you referring to on minute 10:20??
The handlebars got loose as you rode from the vibration??

@@VanceSendsTV ahhh yes ok thanks again bro!
Sweet looking bike , dude. Thinking about doing the same for my 07 Shadow VT 600. I may use 8" ape's though so the cables arent too tight
Ya the cables were a little tight but not to bad. Definitely looks great
Did you ever switch out your cables, and if so what length did you use? Stock + how many inches? @@VanceSendsTV

I definitely recommend TJ brutal customs as well. They make amazing parts as well the guy that runs it is super kind and respectful
