  • Here we take a look at the CRKT Scribe. This is a true gentleman's knife. It's not a letter opener. Though you can open letters, and packages, I've also used it to process fatwood for tinder, cutting up some fruit, and just as an all around, easily concealable, ultra lightweight knife. Sitting at 0.9 ounces, it comes with its own sheath, a pocket clip, and a lanyard hole. There are 2 material options, this silver blade is 5cr15mov, and the black blade color variant is D2 steel. This blade is so light, that more than a few times i forgot I was carrying it, and it ended up in the washing machine, so be warned. No damage, just very clean.

Would you trust this in emergency to take a stab at someone? I'm looking for something small to carry around neck on lanyard

Its pretty solid for a such a small knife. If your comparing it in a self defense way compared to say a blade of a swiss army knife, I would go with the scribe. Even an dull pencil can be a defensive weapon. All depends on the person wielding in. I would recommend checking with your local laws. Some places, even tiny knives are more illegal than their larger counterparts.

Thank you very much, very helpful video! I think I'm going to buy it. I work in an office and occasionally visit clients at their homes and don't want to come across as armed and threatening. 🙃 Clipped into a trousers pocket or briefcase, people might even think it's a USB drive. But a little fix blade is still a little bit more of a knife than a Swiss army knife that are just a little wobbly for my taste. 😎👍

I should be getting mine in the mail soon and I'm really excited for it! I don't know why, but executive/gentleman's knives have really caught my eye lately, and I like the uniqueness of this one a lot.

@@Survival-gyver So far, I dig it! It's a very neat and tidy package, and I like how nondescript it is when riding in the pocket.
The blade is a good length for quick work (cutting a thread, opening a letter or package, etc.), came with a nice edge, and the cap fits securely on the end when extending the grip. Very comfortable to use, and ultra lightweight. I dig the faux-carbon fiber look too.
Overall, glad I picked it up! :D
