These were movies for adults, and they are all much much better than any of the Star Wars movies.

The rods were coated in scotchlite reflective beads. Tiny retroreflective glass beads that reflected the light at the camera back at the lens to help create the light saber effect. They later added a glow in post. But when the rods hit each other, they scraped off the beads. The 'dust' was actually the bead coating being scraped off.
What about in Episode VI after the rebel fleet destroys the star destroyer, amidst the celebration, you can hear an extra yell out, "So long, d*ckheads!!"
+Scott Adler Most robots in star wars have really advanced AI, thats why they're called androids. It seems androids that interact with humans are given emotion too, to understand and reply easier. In R2D2's case, he's a repair bot, so he shouldnt have any emotion. Maybe its a bug in his BIOS, maybe they mixed something up when installing his software, but he seems to have similar AI to social interaction androids

Ben never said he didn't recognize them. His line was, "I don't recall ever owning a droid". He only said that, because Luke thought from what was said, that he had actually owned them. So, it can be assumed that he did recognize them, but was only correcting Luke's assumption.

I think the biggest screwup of all is having Aniken build C-3PO. And as much as R2-D2 is ubiquitous in Aniken’s activities during the clone wars, it really is a continuity problem that “Ben“ Kenobi didn’t recognize either droid.
Ben never said he didn't recognize them. His line was, "I don't recall ever owning a droid". He only said that, because Luke thought from what was said, that he had actually owned them. So, it can be assumed that he did recognize them, but was only correcting Luke's assumption.

It's not really an effect error, but in The Empire Strikes Back, "Ben" says Master Yoda taught him, but in the prequels, Qui Gon Jinn was his master
That's just one of the many reasons why the prequels suck, and probably should have never been made.

its not wrong, yoda did helped teach him, but the trilogy didn't really need to go into detail about Qui Gon. It just makes more sense to Luke Skywalker the character at that moment, just for "Old Ben" just to say, yeah, yoda taught me.

Most of the CGI we take for granted today has grandparent tech that was invented in the making of 4, 5, & 6. That being said, some of the mistakes we notice now I see as nostalgic. Watching the entire series is just as much about Star Wars as it is about the evolution of CGI

I have another mistake, just saw it, by watching the films today. In episode 5 when Han is fronzen in carbonate, he is still tied up not at his hands, but his upper arm. When he is released in episode 6 he is completely free and falls with his hands forward to the ground. And he was apparently frozen all the time....

I rarely see the most blatant mistake mentioned. When Luke is returning from the successful attack on the Death Star, actress Carrie Fisher runs to meet him. As he climbs down from his fighter she cries out to him, "Luke!" He runs to her and shouts, "Carrie!" Not "Leia," he calls her by the actress's name, Carrie.
