    My older brother is an ESTP, and I grew up with several ESTPs, they are easily one of my favorite types. No drama, just people wanting to have a good time. Just do not get into a car they are driving....

    Best one I’ve ever had because he’s all about autonomy and has no interest in controlling others.

    I love how they still communicate with each other while someone is talking, with the gestures (pointing, thumbs up, showing object, nods, smiles) to give feedback when someone wants to express something, they acknowledge it.

    Baaf noted something a mature ESTP recognizes. You learn to turn turn down the volume, or at least for certain people so you can make a better connection.

      ESTPs can be easily mistyped, some ESTPS can be typed as ENTP because Se is grossly misunderstood. And the ones that have their life together can be typed as judgers, because Se pushes them to be a very active person and Ti pushes them be very rational, so it is no surprise that a lot of them end up being entrepreneurs.

    It is insane how I can relate to so much from ESTP's, these 5 included, and yet I don't" live it", but it is "there"/here inside. It does play out in certain settings, moments and mind states, but certainly not the "typical case" of the everyday life.

    Hi! ISFP, 4w5 here.
    I find you guys inspirational. Your can-do attitude and objective look at ‘failures’ is refreshing to me. Your energy to get things going is admirable.
    Also, I found it funny how your kinetic orientation shows in the video, e.g. moving around in the chair, standing up, smoking, drinking, kneading a ball etc. It is quite telling.
    You’ve got a cool air around you.
    I find your Introverted Thinking auxiliary very helpful. In contrast to Fi (my lead function), and an Enneagram type 4’s identification with feelings, you are so much more factual and objective thanks to your Ti. It must be helpful in navigating the world :).
    Thanks Joyce for this panel ;)

    Also I feel like ESTP’s are rare too! Are female ISTP’s & ESTP’s actually more rare than INFJ’s?

    • @JonasAnandaKristiansson
      @JonasAnandaKristiansson 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Absolutely not the case, regarding your question.
      There are however a lot of INFJs in these areas of interest, and on the internet. Don't let that create the worldview in this regard. In other words, don't let that limited input make a (possible)conclusion overtime (output) that INFJs are "not so rare as typically is being said". It is just that "we" are massed around these topics.
      I have met 4 INFJs in my life that I'm aware of, all of them the last 1 year and 3 of them the last 2 months, due to the internet, every single one of them.
      I'll add though, I don't know any ISTP and ESTP women, but I'd sure love to.

    • @farrex0
      @farrex0 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I grew up with several ESTPs, I have had several ESTPs in my life, so I don't see how you would get that conclusion. They might be rare on the internet tho, because most of them are out doing something. Remember that several ESTPs can be mistyped as ENTPs because Se is so often misunderstood. Also ESTPs can seem like a judger because Se and Ti makes them be both extremely active and very intellectually driven, it is no surprise they are often entrepreneurs because of that. Also ExTPs are not as disagreeable as people think because of Fe on the third slot, I have noticed that several other types are more likely to want to argue and debate. ExTPs like discussing topics on a non emotional manner, if emotion gets involved they bail out.

  • @MrLuigiFercotti
    @MrLuigiFercotti 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    One add to this, ESTPs do not generally value status for it's own sake. That's an SJ thing. We like quality and nice stuff for it's intrinsic value not, to impress people. We are not posers.

    School for me was a very tuff experience. I never enjoyed to stay in class and listen to lecture. If I was forced to stay in class I usually disrupted the flow of the lesson in some way or another. A lot of the time I just skipped class. I got great grades in the subjects that interested me, but bearly passed all the other ones. Finished collage with A+ on my bachelor’s degree, because I enjoyed working on it in the last month, when all my colleagues worked all year on theirs. I had a colleague who had the best project, but messed up the presentation and got a bad grade, while I had a project full of bugs (that I was too lazy to fix, but I avoided while presenting) and nailed the presentation. I felt bad for him, but that’s life.

      @@PsychologyandChillwMichi Personality theory (specifically MBTI) has gotten so watered down and misunderstood the past couple decades it's sad (and frustrating)... Can be a very useful tool. Social media and unqualified "pundits" have all but ruined the industry. When I took a personality assessment (mbti and enneagram) in the 90's (I was a kid... Ha), I answered over 1000 questions and later did a full hour 1:1 assessment... By a counseling psychologist. There is more misinformation floating around the personal theory world than useful information. You're channel and this one are pretty good, but there are few and far between. @PsychologyandChillwMichi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@sticknaw1 Well, the blond gal did use to think she was ENTP for quite some time. I'm curious if you could elaborate on why you think ENTP.
      As for the theory -- I agree it's very muddy. The thing is, there are people out there spreading stereotypes because they enjoy it. I used to be one of them, but it's part of the excitement about learning MBTI. That being said, I don't think just because something was around for a long time that it is necessarily completely correct. Theories need to adapt over time. I see people sharing their thoughts and insights as a way to further develop the understanding of MBTI. Conversations where we discuss a person's type help us understand where our understandings do not align. The point of it is to understand people at the end of the day, not to be right, so i'm not sure how important it is that the theory is perfect anyway. People, humans, will continue to adapt and change over time. Even if we perfected MBTI right now, the likeliness is that in 100 years it will be completely outdated as there will be new types of people.
