Wao!! Couldn't stop listening!! I can see why all ENTPs are so excited about this content!! Such a peaceful & fascinating conversation to follow!!
INFJ here, hope you know we very much enjoy your gifts! We are emotional, yes (^^), but we absolutely love to play with our Ti !!
With ENTPs, I feel like I can "shut" my Fe (That is otherwise distracting and draining at the same time...) and focus my energy on whatever subject we are on, it takes us deeeeep somewhere & it's a pleasure to follow your mind!!
Maybe, our Fe being before our Ti is what allows us not to say the "unforgivable" before it's too late?! Well, most of the time at least! ^^
Interesting that issue with Fi users! A shame you guys are misunderstood on that one! First time I can appreciate not having Fi...^^ ☺️
Well, thanks for sharing this content!! I will not miss another occasion to cross path with an ENTP in the future!!
    I see you better now

J is so right about saying, "I don't like it." This is the ONLY thing that works with my ISTJ wife sometimes to get her off of my back lol. I'll list my reasons, which is really me setting a boundary and saying that I don't want to do something. Then she will argue against my reasons fiercely which feels like a boundary violation. Then I'll say, "I don't like it." Her: Oooh ok..

35:00 I love how they were all badmouthing Fi and then J comes out at says "what are they good at though, what can they do that we cant?" for the longest time I thought that Fi was stupid and useless. However I studied emotions and why they are important recently and it hit me. Emotions help us make decisions. Fi users know what they like, they know what they want, and they have dreams. I have found that knowing what I truly want has been a struggle. This is one of the reasons why it is hard to achieve a lot as an ENTP. if we could just organize our lives and figure out what we truly want and fight for that dream we would dominate the world. we are smarter than ENTJs. If we just had more Te, Si, and Fi then we would take over the world.

It just doesn’t come natural to us, we feel all other emotions but attachment and depression is harder to feel and understand. We suck at relationships for a reason.

Relating to the point about saying truths to people, 25:32 timestamp, it can help giving feedback on the action rather than the person.
"This and this action was selfish" rather than "you are selfish". And you can also soften up the language:
"This and this action could be seen as selfish" (which is true, when we don't know the persons intention, the action could come from a non-selfish place).

52:26 This insight was really profound for me and gave me a new perspective. I am a person who always (!) listens to other peoples problems. And I have discovered that it drains me and make me a bit resentful in my friendships.
Last week I had my friend coming over to dinner and she was a bit stressed. I am stressed as well, but I tend to forget it and focus on the other. We got into a deep and very personal talk, and I delivered some truths about her (in an ok way I think). Maybe she really needed Fe, but I couldnt give it, because I was completely drained (from handling my own and other peoples problems). And I think she might have gotten upset.
Instead, I shouldn't have moved into a deep conversation (I think the thruths hurt her) - I should just have kept it at "surface level" or an intellectual level, since I personally wasn't ready to deal with all the emotional stuff that came up.
That would have been much better for me - and probably also for her....
So, for me setting boundaries is really important - as to how much of other peoples stuff I am taking in.
So sometimes, when people want something, and you are not able to give it, you have to set the boundary.

It’s really great to have this understanding of myself and I completely see how I’m this type. I haven’t found any ENTPs that I quite resonate with but that’s okay. I’m just going to develop and grow my own character with the knowledge of my own cognitive conjunctions. J mentioned a good point of Fi-doms idealising ENTPs and I find if I do something 'wrong' in their eyes they will suddenly forget about all the Fe I've done and try to emotionally traumatise me. This is part of our frustration with high Fi users. They're arent grateful for all of the past Fe investment you've painsakingly put in if they feel you have crossed one of their lines, which they don't make clear to you. Often we conclude this person just isn't worth the trouble and cut them out of our lives if we can to save us from pain. Meanwhile they have this social perception of being angels and we are seen as devils.

This was super interesting to see so many ENTPs together! I've been wanting to gain a more in-depth understanding of them. I liked some of these ENTPs better than the one's I know in real life. The one I am closest with does not listen to other people too well and talks over people all the time. I think J REALLY knows his stuff when it comes to personality! What ENTPs don't realize, is that we Fi users know when you are pretending to "share" with us. It comes across pretty fake to me at least. You think you are sly but to me it's pretty obvious that you are not really sharing authentically. ENTPs do seem somewhat reserved to me except for their surface Fe behaviors (which don't really feel like true feelings so, not really a connection made there). And we can easily see right through that Fe placation. Sometimes I think it's pretty funny to watch the placation although I don't let you see my amusement. I know other Fi users can see through that as well. Of course we can because we actually DO know what emotional depth truly looks like.
You all really don't so you don't realize how you come off. I think maybe you can fool other Fe users though. I never say anything when an ENTP does this to me but it definitely makes me feel manipulated and I will lose trust and respect for them and will not bond with an ENTP who does that. But they won't know I feel that way. You won't know how an Fi user feels unless we intend for you to know. That's the irony of the situation. ENTP users think they are the ones not sharing but we are actually the ones who are truly holding back and you have no idea.

Also, is J consume last? Or blast first or something? Lol, serious Ty Lopez vibes, haha. He seems kinda Oi? Like frequently in conversation he just wants things to be already part of the known information; he is not especially amenable to receiving new revelation from others. If he is ENTP, I might guess he is double activated on a masculine Si. I'm not knowledgeable enough about OP and the animals. Is that a possible configuration? I'm throwing things out, but I don't really know what I'm talking about.
This was a very interesting video for me to watch. I'm still trying to figure out my type, and I actually got into type through Enneagram, but I am still not sure which type fits me at the deepest level. One thing interestingly dogmatic across the board in typing systems is that people don't change type. I'm not so sure, but either way my biggest consideration lately is simply depression. I'm not sure whether I've changed type, but my depression certainly has changed my apparent personality greatly. It's very hard to pull apart all the problems in my life and see what is happening because of me and what is happening because of my environment. Maybe I should look for youtube videos on that topic...

1:06:18 I have some difficulties separating what you say here Joyce (about Ne/Se users being able to transfer their skills from one subject field to another) from how Ni users use Ni.
Because Ni identify the underlying pattern of things and can then recognize the same patterns in other things. Wouldn't that be the corresponding idea to what you are saying? Can you gives some examples on the concept of transferring skills?

    • @JoyceMeng22
      @JoyceMeng22  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Good question! Here's my rationale: To gather transferable skills you need to have a variety of different experiences. What Se and Ne are good at is gathering new. Whether it is new skills, new thoughts, new ideas or new anything. This naturally gives them many quirky skills from different disciplines.
Ni and Si are more committed to a path and thus generally don't gather as many cross-disciplinary skills as lead Pe (Se & Ne) people would. Of course there are exceptions, but I find this to be true a majority of the time.
