Well really, the early dislike was somewhat justified, but Season 2 really started picking up steam and finished with an epic finale. Let's hope season 3 continues the trend

Most series take some time to hit their stride. Rebels has definitely done so.

0:10 It seems that Kanan and Rex are now best friends. Those are the same markings as on Rex's helmet.
0:28 Ezra is starting to sound like some of the Jedi in the old EU, particularly Lucien Draay. He is searching for any means to destroy the Sith, even if it means to walk the path of the Dark Side.
0:39 Well, it looks like that we are going to see the making the actual Rebel Alliance. I wonder if there is going to be other familiar faces who once was part of the Empire? And they're even calling it the Rebellion.
0:48 Hondo is back and Sabine has another new hairstyle. I wonder if this one will stop a laser blast to the face?
0:53 It almost looks like a military junkyard. Although, why it could be floating I have no idea. Pilot training perhaps?
1:02 I'm not surprised that there are still Separatist holdings out in the galaxy. I wonder if this will be an episode where the Rebels attempt to bolster their numbers through droids? With Cham Syndulla in the picture, I'm sure that he wouldn't be please about it.

This is also the first time that we've seen Lasat artwork, and it is very reminiscent of African and Aboriginal tribal art.

as for your glowing eyes I can give you the same reason Vader had eyebrows. they need the eyes to emote. when eyes are both a light source and supposed to emote in animation it makes it difficult. or so I here I'm not much of an animator myself. as for how they know you. it's either later after an encounter or maybe they new you from before I don't know how though
Who said they were separatists holding out? That's very unlikely in my opinion. Those were probably just battle droids that were deactivated since the Clone Wars or droids that were built right before the war ended and therefore never saw service, and someone has only just reactivated them

In the 3 novels he absolutelly wasnt a bad guy.. he was totally reasonable and sensible leader with clear objectives and strategy and respect for his adversaries.... even when he goes "Vader" on that tractor beam operator who lost Luke first he reasones it as the Lietenient arrogance and total lack of asuming responsability.. as shown later when the exact incident produces totally oposite result with Lt. Mitchell when the Lt apologies to Thrawn and says what he tried to to to capture Skywalker and despite his failure Thrawn rewards him for trying and thinking fast.
Or when he captured a planet with minimal use of force or casualties and even when he had total control over the planet he said he wouldnt take forced recruits or impose more taxes over the conquered population.
And in the larger picture it was revealed all he wanted was to unify the galaxy to be able to face the Yuzan Vong.. even Skywalker recogniced Thrawn was right in a way

I preferred her S1 hair cuz it matched her armor perfectly. The ocean green S2 hair was kinda weird on her and this new bubblegum pink just looks wierd as hell to me.

+Muppetfan100 It really does. And if it is and Kallus joins the Rebels, it adds some credibility to the theory that the Rebel in the Rogue One trailer who lists off Jyn's crimes is Kallus. I really want that theory to be true.
It's been shown, but if you modify the voice in the trailer. Kallus is the one behind it. So it looks like we'll have a new Fulcrum.
It probably is Ahsoka, having to descend into hiding yet again. In one of the books, it says Wedge did favors for Ahsoka
+DaveyWaveyBoo Fulcrum isn't one person. It's more of a title adopted by sources who wish to remain anonymous and aid the rebels.
+DaveyWaveyBoo Ahsoka was one person who used the Fulcrum persona. Others use it as well. It can't be Ahsoka now because we know Fulcrum recruits Wedge and Ahsoka is out of the picture for now.
So, we will get:

The EU was Canon. I dislike the unoriginality of the new Canon, aka TFA. It was first of all, a Copy Paste of Episode 4, the plot of it was... Second, they don't have the Imperial Remnant... they don't have the Yuuzhan Vong.
give the new canon time, its only been around for 1/10th of the time the EU was around, it's not a fair comparison.

I don't get why this show as a whole is hated on so much I can understand not liking the first and second season but season three and four were really really good in my opinion just like Clone Wars it started to pick up with season three.

Superman then comes to rescue Frankenstein where he discovers that it was a trap and is held captive and is to be tortured for years, learning to become one with the force. Now Dr. Seuss is on a mission to rescue Superman, as he is the only hope for defeating the upcoming Jar Jar. But suddenly, Dr. Seuss is confronted by Dr. Who and it becomes a rap battle. Then the biggest monster of all eliminates all of the Universe (Even Jar Jar Binks) with the wave of his hand. This monster is, Donald Trump

Yeah, pirates profit a lot during war. It's a time of relative peace, yet trade is mostly controlled by the Empire, not a great market for capitalists, even the very "opportunistic" ones like Hondo
ikr where the hell is his trench coat?!?
Two main reasons: in-universe, he lost his whole crew to the Empire and presumably a good portion of his wealth so has to dress more modestly now. Out-of-universe, it's to make his character model more efficient to animate by not giving him a cape or coat to animate separately - the same reason why no-one aside from Vader has a cape and they tend to have simpler, form-fitting outfits in Rebels. Since Rebels isn't being funded directly from George Lucas' pocket like TCW and they actually have finite resources to play with, they have to be more efficient with everything in Rebels.
Now that supreme boss man Thrawn is in charge I'd maybe like to see the Imperials be a credible threat and the rebels start to take some serious losses.
I know, the Thrawn trilogy are some of my favourite books ever. My worry is that Filoni might neuter Thrawn and he'll end up getting thwarted every episode like Kallus was in season 1. If they bring him back to canon but don't pay attention to what made him a great character in Legends, it'd be better if they just didn't bring him back at all.

He actually had a great character outside of the original Clone Wars. You know, the whole people got betrayed by the Jedi, and lead to his hatred for them. He could be ruthless and brutal, but also honorable and merciful at times, despite how screwed his brain was. The new depiction, just a douche with four arms, all bark, no bite.

It's the show developers. They can't show too much death on a children's show, after all.

They did on Clone Wars, you can't blame Filoni it's not his fault Star Wars is owned by Disney.
How so? I mean, how is his design "off?" As a character who first appeared in written rather than visual form, there've been tons of different interpretations of both him and the grand admiral uniform.

The point is - Mandalorians were wearing helmets during their decapitation. Imperial officers were not. It is more scary to see human face while he dies, so they did it off screen.

Dave Filoni should've been put in charge of all things star wars after George's exit. he knows this franchise inside out and knows how to create new stories with new characters while respecting the old, not just rehashing what we've already seen (JJ)!
seriously!! JJ coming in was the worst thing to ever happen to star wars. sure we can say that TFA was good. thats because its done, theres no do overs so we just gotta make due with what that piece of modern comedy sci fi bland was. that movie could have been SO much more than what it was. but now, were stuck with that universe for another 2 movies. star wars is dead. but the new modern day comedy star wars meets today's standards and i look forward to watching the next two :)

You should watch his previous film "Looper". The kid's story only made me wonder how good the prequels would have been with Rian on board.

that aside, yea the new star wars is great, and meets all of todays quotas as movie; funny, non stop action, as little dialog as possible, insane amount of close ups. im not being sarcastic. i love films like this, theyre straight to the point and excecute the job in a very compelling way.
star wars has never been excecuted in such a manner until this film. and now thats its been done, we just have to accept it. this is what star wars is now, and there is no going back. its a great new direction to head for, and i look forward to tagging along the entire way. but, it isnt star wars anymore.
TFA doesn't capture the dramatic opera-y tone that a space opera deserves. I demand MORE DRAMA, MORE DIALOGUE, MORE LORE.
Next step is to tie this into the relevance of the new movies and create a real cinematic universe, sorry, GALAXY
I think keeping it more self contained is a better idea. Use the show to build up the alliance but they don't need direct lead ins or ties to the films. just a few small connections.

All the implant stations are funded by the Empire.
Firstly they probably don't have the capacity for that yet. Secondly his blindness has allowed him to expand his connection to the force. And he uses the force to see. Finally even if they did have the capacity I doubt he would want to because he needs it to be a constant reminder of certain dangers
Also, just as a Sith or someone driven by the darkside uses pain/loss as a fuel of their rage and therefore their power.. Jedi may use pain/loss as a way of centering themselves in the force.. Relying more on the force to guide them than they could otherwise..

In the Legends Expanded Universe, he managed to reorganize the Imperial Remnants after the battle of Endor and was a major threat to the New Republic before his death in about 8 ABY, if I remember correctly.
TOP 3 THRAWN SCENES I WANT TO SEE IN "REBELS"
3. Having a Watson-like right-hand officer that he discusses/bounces ideas off of (like Gilad Pellaeon in the books). It's an intelligent way to get exposition out without resulting to monologues or cliched evil gloating.
2. Effortlessly destroying a rebel force with an unorthodox yet ingenious tactic followed by an art-based explanation. This is a vital part of Thrawn's abilities as he can use analysis of a species's art to know their psychology and thus craft specific tactics for them.
1. The scene where he promotes an underling for coming up with creative solution to a sudden problem. This is a KEY part of Thrawn's character as it shows he's not just another "You have failed me for the last time"-type of Imperial Commander, but an efficient leader.
Well Zahn advised them so they may do this but we don't know how big of role he will have generally. If say it was big, then maybe we see him refining himself I. The season

It looked quite good. Now if they can somehow find a way to canonize my favorite Old Republic Era characters it'd be awesome. But enough wishful thinking, Grand Admiral looks like a right, likeable antagonist.
LucasFilms should make an old republic based Star Wars movie.
Grand Admiral Thrawn is one of the most famous characters in the EU. He was the only person who kept the Empire together after the battle of Endor. Glad Disney made him into cannon. When Disney focuses on something, it becomes something great!
Making an Old Republic based TV series after they finish Rebels (Which is probably coming soon since they're approaching the events of Rouge One and A New Hope) would be an amazing move, since there's plenty of architecture from the Expanded Universe, but no currently canon information to restrict creativity or time period. It would be a series that could be completely new, but with enough architecture from Expanded Universe to keep fans invested.
I hope they will be something about it, (probably a series) but please, make a live-action one!

I'd be on board with that. There are definitely hints that Kallus may be reconsidering his allegiance. There would be all sorts of good story opportunities as he grapples with his past and works to build trust with his former enemies.
On the other hand, I do enjoy Kallus as an Imperial with a sympathetic side.

A sith would be rockin' awesome considering it's absolutely *never* been done before, but that's probably hoping for a little too much.. lol! Plus I think Darth Maul pretty much killed any and all our chances of that (since I hate Maul so I don't want it to be him)...
This all to say; Kallus has already got the sass. I like picturing what he could do as a rebel. We've just already had *so many* good-guy-gone-bad stories and secret-traitors, especially in Clone Wars. I'd really, really, *really* like to see a bad-guy-goes-good story.. And actually have it be a cool bad-guy, not just a "Pop in and wish I was important" side character guy. You know?
Kallus was the one giving the information on Skystrike academy. He has turned after spending time with Zeb and discovering what the Empire actually did to the Geonosians and more.. Standard Enemy Mine plot.
I'm honestly somewhat scared of what Kallus could be as a Rebel Commander, with knowledge of Imperial Tactics and the way the Imperial Command structure works. Imagine what kind of havoc he could wreak upon a world with a small band of rebels that he may even train himself? ISB is known for probably having to cause lots of havoc on worlds in order for the Empire to be able to invade or control.
