Fantastic video once again, and I love how you've highlighted all the musical connections throughout this series. Great chat, (I really miss catching up with people at gigs etc, hopefully that will happen again soon), and some brilliant shout-outs from Michael on music for me to follow up. Thanks to you both, got my day off to a good start.
I can recall.. quite vividly.. Stephen P 'presenting' the Geographic label to the Vital staff at one of those monthly sales meetings we used to have when I was the Domino label manager.. (the Geographic label was under the larger Domino wing). this would be circa 1999/2000. He played that Mahar Shalal Hash Baz track. If I remember the sea of blank / confused faces was a joy to behold!:)
I bought a few things from Volcanic Tongue, and visited the shop while I was in Glasgow to see My Bloody Valentine (couldn't get London tickets, so went to Glasgow for a couple of days, which was inexpensive at the time). Best things I got there were the Meursault releases - Shaun Falconer's project, not the band. David's reviews on the website were crazy - I rarely got all the references. I think the VT reviews are archived somewhere, maybe with the British Library. (Every chance I've made that up.) I love both Telstar Ponies albums, and the first Taurpis Tula LP "Sparrows" is lovely too.

i was at Vital then....that was a leftfield release for a company selling Baha Men, Moby, and Basement Jaxx....I dug it though, and still do.
