  • Ride on I-75 near Ocala, major interstate in central Florida, lot's of truck traffic and their wind draft/turbulence, also crosswind gust to 20mph, Givi windshield, 230lbs driver !!
    CVT mods, Malossi white spring, DRP 18gr sliders(Black Pearl material), Bando belt.
    Fairly good performance for 400cc scooter !! video focused on dash rpm vs speed indications, not on surroundings, etc.

    I just changed my 2007 (purchased used) from I assume stock 19G rollers to 21G sliders. I am really happy with the new RPM vs Speed. Before the change I had to be careful to not redline (8500) but now I can't get close to it before running out of throttle. I do lose a little on the pickup at highway speed for passing, but I've learn to compensate for it.
    Speed shown are indicated, actual is 5 MPH less per GPS at highway speeds.
    Old 19G rollers:
    8000 = 65
    8500 = 75 (redline)
    9000 = ?
    New 21G sliders:
    5200 = 70
    6000 = 80
    6800 = 90
    7000 = 95

      Which 21g sliders did you use? 26×13 or what? I'm new and I'm getting high rpms at highway speeds so I ordered the 20×15 21g sliders. Will these work also? Thanks for the help.

    Nice. I have been getting on the interstate with my 07 Burgman 400 recently. It is good to see what kind of RPMs you're getting with your new sliders.

      Yes the 18gr sliders is a good mod, especially on 07-09, but I also have a stiffer contra spring, performance clutch, etc. also 2010 + gearing is different, more info on burgmanusa.com

    Wow. Only 6,000 rpms at 80 miles an hour. My new 2022 Burgman 400 at 75 miles an hour reads 7,000 rpms. It sounds like it's going to blow up. Redline is 8,500.

      Yes, stock configuration rollers are not good, 19gram Dr. pulley sliders will work great, but possibly void warranty 🤔, Did a long ride today, 65mpg indicated 👍

    I heard a tip from another Burgman owner to put the bike into manual and choose 6th gear once you are up to highway speeds as it has an overdrive ratio.

      ?? This is a 400, conventional cvt, no drive modes or gears.

      @@allenhumphreys2586 ahhh i did not realize the 400 did not have the manual mode!!! Apparently it's only something for the 650 then. bummer

    How did that feel ? Safe or pretty hairy? i'm leaning towards an xmax 300 but might consider this scoot...I would need to do highway just like this to get around and want something safe. Am unsure if i should get a maxi scoot or just get a heavier motorcycle. Touch choice.

    • @allenhumphreys2586
      @allenhumphreys2586  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An Xmax 300 maybe adequate for short distances on busy US highways, yes it may be able to maintain 70-75 mph, but in reality traffic speeds are higher than that, and the scooter would be near it's limit with no passing/acceleration power left. I mean you could see road trucks in video, traveling way faster than 80mph. Maxi Scooters are not light , but are high profile vehicles, really affected by passing trucks, wind, etc. I don't plan on using my B400 regularly on the highway, because of that.

    With highway and mixed riding what would you say MPG is like? i'm considering getting one of these for commuting and weekend run abouts.

    • @allenhumphreys2586
      @allenhumphreys2586  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I usually avg 55-60 mpg riding around country roads and in town, seen as much as 65 mpg on a few long highway runs.

    Is this full throttle?

    • @allenhumphreys2586
      @allenhumphreys2586  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only section of video 4:45 - 5:30 is where sustained near to full or full throttle was used, were you see tach jump to approx. 6,500 rpms, otherwise no. The CVT is setup to operate at this rpms anytime you accelerate hard/WOT, good power point.
