Kevin, love your videos and all your content but PLEASE let him talk. I’m not gonna unsubscribe or anything lol but this is just some constructive feedback for future guests you might have. There were a few times he was gonna hit on a subject and you cut him off and didn’t let him finish. Great info though, lll definitely be on the lookout for some of these style hats
100% agree. I adore Kevin and his family! Dude was answering the same question I had been wondering about and Kevin interrupted him repeatedly. Please let the expert guest speak. Blessings, K.T.
Great video! Hats have been one of my staples for years and years. Probably sold 2500+ of 'em with some killer finds along the way and always at least 300 or so listed in my store. Cheap to buy, easy to list, easy to store and easy to ship. What more could you want for a niche??? Recent great find was an Oakland Raiders Snapback with the Old English font by Drew Pearson that I scored at a garage sale several months ago for $1(along with a lot more hats and Harley t-shirts). It was in really rough condition. Still managed to sell it for $399 after about 2-3 months. If had been in better shape I could've have gotten $500-600 for it most likely.
Love these guest videos, so much information. You've given me an idea. I live near Detroit, 45 minutes from Toledo. I'm gonna plan a trip there to garage sales and thrift stores. Maybe I'll find a Toledo Mud Hens minor league hat.
Back in the 1960's or early 70's I built an addition to the Louisville Manufacturing plant. They were the nicest people in the world, and I got a chill to learn their hats were so collectable!
I have never sold a hat because of a complete lack of knowledge, but that changed some today. Thank you Kevin & Cernoch for passing some knowledge my way. Kevin I love these type of videos as not only is it entertaining but also informative. Thanks again and have a great day. Gonna subscribe to Cernochs channel. 😊
I watched the how to clean your hat video. I cleaned a hat my brother had thrown away. I was going to post it to Ebay. Brother is wearing it again. I learned enough to fix that hat. :D
One of my first jobs out of school was at a plastics factory and I ran what they called "The Visor Line" we made the plastic insert for the bills. TFS Friend
Do love the My Go 2 Tape for shipping. You guys are the best. Wish I could do the same as you. Love talking with people and not afraid to talk to strangers lol
Found a Vintage Delta Queen Paddlewheel Steamboat hat which included collector pins attached to the hat. This person was a member of the Paddlewheel Steamboatin' Society of America.
Chernoc the Hat Doc! Watched this vid then went to a thrift store found a vintage scrambled eggs New York hat with rope and an NFL/Castrol hat. My Go 2 Tape.
Hey Kevin, I found a vintage yellow, mustard yellow, John Deere Louisville Ky mfg cap in a barn at a Estate sale. Cost me $3. I knew about it because of the video you shared buying one off of the guy that just purchased it. I cleaned it up, correctly I believe. I have it listed, just hasn't sold yet.
I bought 2 boxes of hats at a sale a few months ago so many old Made in USA ones. I started paying attention to them thanks to you guys. Love these types of videos! Would love some of that My go 2 tape
About a month ago I found a vintage cleveland indians chief wahoo big logo hat. Along with a bunch of other sports specialties and a logo athletic shark tooth hat. Paid $2 each at my local goodwill. All are in very good to exellent condition.
When my father-in-law died about 10 yrs ago, my sister in law asked if we wanted any of his hats. At the time I did not know people collected old hats. He had about 3 to 4 giant boxes of hats, never worn, that he just got over the years. Have no idea what was there. Just know they were full. I was not selling on ebay at the time. I think about those hats often.
Bought a NY Yankee Jon Stan hat from a flea market vendor. Didn’t know what I had but I knew it looked different so took a chance for $2. Cherub patches all over it. Sold for over $200!
Great learning video , i was hoping to hear a little about the rope above the brim -i had two nascar hats about the same except one had the rope one did not , the rope one was worth much more that the one without .
The best hat sale I ever had was very early in my reselling career, about 3 years ago. At Goodwill I found a denim Lev’s hat with the leather Levi’s patch on the front of the hat and an orange tab. It sold for $290.
Thanks Kevin. Both your Cernoch's Video's were very informative & Educational. There were quite a bit of answers on questions I had in many different ways. Classifying being one of my most perplexed understanding of the Cap/Hat category when sourcing. Many odd and numerus labels & manufactures. it's really an eye opener, so thank you for that. Say hello to the family & stay Groovy.
great content. I've got 40 hats for sale and I recently updated all of them. And now one of them that was listed for months has been taken down by ebay. Email says "We don’t allow counterfeit items, replicas, or unauthorized copies.". Really, a fake Hat? Is there a big problem with counterfeit hats? I can' imagine there would be a big market for a $20 fake hat. PS, exact hat sold on ebay and poshmark recently.
At a yard sale lady had two large black bags of vintage hats . Sold them to me for 20 dollars. After I started going through them I realized her husband had to be a vintage hat collector. All of them were in mint condition. It was a homerun.
I love minor league baseball gear, especially single-A teams. They have seriously GOOFY names and logos and the goofier the better. My local team is the Yard Goats (aka switcher engines), but there's also a team called the Trash Pandas (raccoons). No idea how well those sell. Scrambled eggs = originally military officers' hat decorations.
It is great to see someone so excited (and knowledgeable) about what they do in the reselling world.
