On larger dollar items I call the buyer and tell them bc of the issues with fraud I want to verify that they made the purchase. This gives me an opportunity to get a feel for the buyer and Aldo let’s the buyer know I can get ahold of them. So far, so good.

I've sold about 20 items on ebay foe Over 1000. Highest being 2750. Never once had a issue thankfully. I always price high dollar items high and only deal with best offers. That's way I can check the buyers account out before accepting the offer. If they have little to no or bad feedback I just won't accept the deal. If it's a high dollar stereo reciever for example and the buyer has tons of feedback buying stereos or even has a store selling electronics then I feel safe and will accept

I sold a vintage vehicle for almost 10k and no joke the guy tried to scam me. Paid the deposit and then tried to send me a fake check from Chime, wouldn’t follow the payment instructions, tried to send a pickup. Cancelled that hassle and resold it with no issues
My favorite scam and one that is very common is when the buyer chooses "local pickup" even though they live in another state. The buyer is hoping that the seller will miss that the buyer chose "local pickup" and just ship the order. Buyer gets free shipping. Usually this scam is done on bigger items with high shipping.

The scammers are intelligent people/groups that can think above and beyond evil that a normal person couldn't even fathom. 24 yrs here and I've been scammed out of about $300 this year and Ebay just allows it. I report it to Ebay and they say "just refund the person and then report them". So, I am out the money every time. It's only going to get worse, sad to say! I think Ebay, if given the choice, would trade 10 resellers in for just 1 new buyer. Love the info Kevin.

I lost 2,000 this week from EBay siding on the buyer side. Order with shipped priority mail insured signature required. The buyer said the box was empty. He had no proof but they kept my $1200. Ebay is a crook it's all about the buyer never about the seller.

Bubble Blend. Love trying new coffee. When eBay had PP, I had several chargebacks. All I had to do is upload tracking to PP and PP had my back, even though PP always lost the case. I even had one that showed item was picked up at PO. Unfortunately the CC companies always side with their customer in my experience.

Here in the UK every item delivered is photographed and put on the tracking info making it impossible to simply send an envelope when it should be something bigger. If you are expecting something the size of a box but an envelope rolls up then it's difficult for anyone to argue the case
Nothing of that size should ever ship without delivery comfermation with signature of recipient. That will beat a chargeback or a item not received. I do it on anything above 200. To protect me

Ebay told me they would handle a possible charge back from a customer who offered me a price --I accepted it- shipped the item- they received it---and then later they the customer gave me a positive feedback....the case was she stated to her bank - she did not know the charge.....eBay stepped in and it was resolved. Interesting process- my first. I think the customer just forgot about the sale. Amazing what can happen. I trust eBay! TY
Bubble Blend. I sold a $600 set of China dishes a few years ago. The tracking said it arrived at the address it was sent to. The customer said it was not put on her door step. She tried to get her money back but thankfully eBay and PayPal back then, did not give her the money back and took off the negative she gave me. The worse part was the dishes belonged to a friend and I had already given her the money. Since then I never sell for friends anymore just in case.
If they pay direct with their CC and not through their PP account you are not covered. They do a Charge Back with their CC company and not through PP. you won’t win those. It was me that had the charge backs from the Bonanza Buyers. PayPal added coverage for a fee since this happened.
Great box tip, with lots of glass to ship, I will use that one. I’ve been blessed to not have any scammers. Definitely won’t be accepting pay pal payments from any buyers, just not worth the risk.
I had a charge back a few years ago, but ebay sided with me. The only reason was because there was a couple of messages where me and the buyer talked about the product. Otherwise I may not have won that one. It wasn't a big ticket item, but it still stung when I got the massage that this person was trying to get away with this.
Just had one from Australia on eBay for a chargeback on a pair of trainers that were delivered mid Oct and now the buyer is saying they don't recognise the transaction, havent had one for years must be the season ffs
Back in the olden days of ebay when you could actually talk to a US based customer support person the phone, I was told by the ebay rep that my best route was to initiate a charge-back in through the credit card company to end my dispute. The ebay rep straight up told me the seller could have mailed me a dog turd and ebay would side with him because he had proof he mailed me something. It didn't matter to ebay if it was the correct item or in as described condition.

Hello Commonwealth, I have had to fight chargebacks recently on eBay not just when Pay Pal were processing transactions. In my experience when the reseller, merchant, item shows to be delivered to a buyers address on file with eBay, eBay will usually refund the buyer and allow the reseller to keep the funds from the transaction. I believe if we as merchants want to see a change in this process maybe we can speak to our congress men and women and see if they cannot update the fair credit billing act of 1974.

I have mostly medium t high end items so 100 starts I couldn’t & wouldn’t do. I bought a lot on whatnot over 5000 . I was ok having fun than 6:06 started getting blocked . I asked if they would ship to my niece for her wedding. She said she didn’t know how and I let her know I would take it either way I had already paid for it plus shipping. I was waiting for my item the seller canceled my order against whatnot policy
I tried to message the seller she left me a message it was in her buy now I tried to buy again and Iam blocked., Question I know we work really hard to be a top seller on EBay & Posh so we don’t get bad reviews we know how hard it is . but on what not if a person has any issue and they try and you try and work it out they try to convince you to cancel than they immediately block you. And you can’t leave a review. Iam like should I give up on whatnot I just don’t agree with mistreating buyers and blocking for no reason. It’s stupid really because I buy a lot I don’t know what to do and I respect how you operate and treat your buyers
Weights will cue you. Because your purchase would normally be much heavier than a letter. This will prove the scammer is scamming a buyer. I hope this will help prove your / viewers case,
The worst scammy thing that happened to me was when I had about $70 taken away from me. The buyer of some steel toe boots told PayPal it was a fraud charge. I fought it, eBay side of it helped me... but PayPal decided for the buyer. But at the end of the day i just look at it as I'm really just out the $10 I spent on them, if that much
Paypal is a complete shitshow...they should be shut down. Side with Chinese scammers all the time. Chinese scammers steal Amazon tracking numbers showing something got delivered to your city...good enough for PayPal!
Had the same type of thing happen on a purchase. Bought something on Facebook marketplace and never received the item. Filed a claim with PayPal and they said the item was shipped and received. The item was received was a 2 oz letter not the 5 lb box that it should have been. PayPal would not refund my funds.
I never had a Paypal chargeback and never sold on Bonanza. Did have to file an SNAD on eBay once, for an item that was truly trash and should never have been sold. Got my money back. If a soi-disant buyer swiped a $2000 item I'd be filing postal fraud, small claims, and anything else I could think of. Make the fraudster's life a living ****, so they at least couldn't do it to someone else.

A charge back is a disputed charge on a credit card or bank charge by the buyer if found in favor of the buyer you as a seller will get a charge back on your account.

I'm still conservative about high value items even on ebay. I would rather sell 10 $100 items than one $1,000 item.

Yo brother, when you are packing the board games, throw 1 layer of bubble wrap, then wrap it like a present with thick kraft paper protective wrap, its the brown wrapping paper. works great
Yes! I wrap a lot of packages like that. I love butcher or Kraft paper for shipping

Bubble blend! I won't win it. Last thing I won was a huge mirror when I was 16. My mother was horrified, but they changed it into 2 full length mirrors for the back of my bedroom door and the bathroom door. It worked out well for both of us.

I always worry about the scammers so I prefer my items to be lower priced, under 100, as I can afford to lose that than thousands of dollars. I am a coffee addict and would live to try Bubble Blend coffee!
