5 locations NMSZ, and you have to chose one of them to travel in a straight line from your guess to that location. No excuses. What do you mean you can't walk across the Pacific Ocean? Well then, you still have Greenland.
RubberDuck there’s a guy on TH-cam that goes in straight lines across European countries or something. He walks through people’s pastures and through rivers lol
Don't know what I'm more stunned by - the fact that the last round was Albania or the fact that Uruguay to Slovakia is 2000 miles less than the Phillippines to Guatamala!!

Round 1 : near identical guess to yours - 4668 Round 2: went for Philippines - 1 Round 3: Guesses Belgian/German border - 2970 Round 4: Went for Nuuk Greenland - 3852 Round 5: Went for Serbia near the coast - 4497 15988 overall
I got 6 miles away on the third round!!! Just wanted someone to know as I have NEVER made such an insane guess in my life! Edit: Ended up getting 15929. Thankfully I did guess Albania at the end as it looked very run down. First time beating the wizard
Illbambino I took a gamble of it being in Central Europe, zoomed into Slovakia and saw a reasonably flat rural area and clicked on the main road and hoped for the best. I didn’t think I would be anywhere near!
What a game, I really liked this one! 1. I could not read the sign as I tend to get spawned a little more zoomed out than you. So I absolutely didn't have clue. Thought by the looks of it, we were near the sea but I guessed Philippines. 31 points 2. Thought this looked like South America but I saw the sun was in the south, so I guessed Colombia near Medellin. 1651 points 3. Impossible one. Thought it looked like Europe because of the state of the road. Couldn't make anything of it, so I thought: what the hell, I go Slovakia. 68km off, 4819 points! 4. This round was amazing. As I spawned a little more zoomed out than you, I could read Misi - Kujalleq and I knew we were in Greenland. I scanned Nuuk and I could not find a road that was correlating. So I looked all over Greenland and found Upernavik Kujalleq. Thrilled as I was, sadly there was no settlement. Just a name. I was absolutely determined to get this sort of right and I just did not want to pick Nuuk as it is the obvious place to go, but without correlation. I think I spent 15-20 minutes looking all over the country and I could not find something that fit. Out of pure frustration I zoomed in quickly to one last town and found something that looked like it. And I was bloody right!! 2m of and 5000 points. This was by lightyears my most insane guess ever. 5. I could not read much, only the Prendi AS. Did not have a clue, but I thought I saw a Finnish flag behind the window above the canopy. So I went for Turku. 1649 points Total 13150 points. Not a total to be proud of, but because I beat you and with round 3 and 4 turning out that excellent, I am very proud.
Ok, haven't played along in a while gave this one a go. 1. I guessed Romania correctly although it was a bit of a clutch. Went far too inland so not the best score. 2. I forgot about the damn shadows. I went with Brazil, which is still better than your guess but it only yielded a couple points. 3. I seem to have an advantage because I always see a bit more stuff to the sides, I assume it's because of my monitor being wider. Anyway, I could see the church in the village which completely reminded me of villages from my country (Czechia) so I went there. Slovakia is close enough for me. 4. I was so confused here. Greenlandic text but the scenery was way too green. Ended up yolo'ing Greenland and went with Nuuk so pretty much the same score. 5. I went with Spain. I didn't even bother decrypting that text so it was a total guess based on the buildings. Overall 14 389 points which is decent for NMSZ game. It was a good one.
That's why I think this format is silly. Someone with a wider screen and/or exceptional eyesight will have advantages with no scrolling and zooming. Even if they know jack shit about geography. Not to mention that you always face dead north...
As a swiss person it's interesting to see, that you thought the last one was swiss. Two tips: The Italian speaking part of switzerland isn't around Zurich, it's in the south east (Bellinzona/Lugano are the major cities) and our pedestrian stripes are always yellow^^
@@GeoWizard The German language shop was a ruse, it said "Ihre professional Wahl", but "professional" is not German. German would be "Ihre professionelle Wahl". That along with "Deutsch color" tells me it's a place where people don't actually speak German. I wouldn't be surprised if Deutsch is actually the last name of the shop owner or something.
This is the first play-along game in which I've beaten you! Mostly thanks to putting Spain instead of Uruguay. I also put the Philippines in the first round, with pretty much the same thought process.
I know I'm super super late but I finally beat you! Here was my run: 1: Totally a lucky stab in the dark with this one. Guessed it was in the northern hemisphere due to the sun, saw the cars on the right side of the street and lack of yellow line, and the buildings looked slightly eastern European to me but the terrain didn't look like what I'd seen in Bulgaria so I went Southwestern Romania. 2: I messed this one up too, though slightly less badly. I guessed north-central Brazil based on the foliage. 3: Another complete stab in the dark. I decided northern hemisphere bc of the lack of sun, so I just randomly went northeastern Poland and got somewhat closeish. 4: Saw the Q and the buildings and it looked similar to pictures I've seen of Nuuk, so I put my marker down there like you. 5: Saw the Prendi and the street looked a bit Balkan to me so I guessed in Zagreb, got slightly closer. Albeit not a great round for me but given how hard it was I'm really pleased!
That "German" at the end is not really German. Correct would be "Ihre professionelle Wahl". Also "Deutsch Color" sounds off, even though color obviously is not a German word. This seems a mixture of German and English to me, and is definitely not the store of a native German speaker
And in Switzerland they would never have such a store with big "Deutsche" (Germans) in the name. They are too patriotic and for them it is not a quality sign, because they thin their stuff it is better than stuff from Germany.
This is a chain of copy shops, originally from Germany. It's actually called "Deutsch Color". I recognize the design and the font used. Obviously, the owner of this particular one is in charge of the lettering. No standardization there in terms of spelling. From their website I gather that there's German, Albanian and Tunisian headquarters.
You'll find quite some German on the Balkan because it tends to be considered as a symbol of quality Also walked past some odd stores with very random German words in Bulgaria for example
Great game, loved the last two locations! I went with: 1. Romania, more or less in the middle. 2. Florida. 3. On the border of Slovenia and Italy. 4. Iceland. 5. Outskirts of Rome. Final score: 15676.
Here's the thing, I'm positive you could walk Liechtenstein in a straight line too if we're honest. It's less than five miles. Just a quick video idea.
Let's goo! This time I destroyed you :D (18269 points). The last round wassnt that hard for me. It looked like Italy, but also more Eastern Europe(-ish), so I just went with Tirana
The first time I beat GeoWizard! Well... kind of since I also allowed myself to scroll and zoom, which actually only helped me in the Guatemala round on account of Spanish language. 1.Guessed Italy based on the weather. heh 2.Guessed southern Mexico based on Spanish, foliage and sun being south - kind of a cheat 3.Guessed Hungary based on European looking landscape. 4.Looked kind of like Iceland mixed with Norway, but decided to risk it with Greenland based on the sign on the right. 5.Looked around and saw the German sign and guessed southern Germany. Wouldn't ever expect Albania. 18488 and if you disregard round 2, my round 3 would still be able to get me ahead I think

13694 points from me. 2 nice guesses in the same country (just 27 km away in Slovakia), and all in the other 3 rounds I had 2 countries in mind and went for the worse. Ghana instead of Guatemala (my other guess was Mexico but that would have brought enough points); Faroe Islands instead of Greenland; Turkey instead of Albania. Albania had a very Balkan feeling so that Italy, let alone Switzerland ideas were strange from you.
There is a few things i notice you dont consider. 1. If there is rust on something thats not obviously ancient, youre close to seawater. 2. Tall sqaure buildings that are symetrical, and plain architecture youre probably somewhere that has been influensed by the Soviet Union.
Round 1: 4356 Recognised the Romanian language and just guessed Bucarest Round 2: 1100 Guessed Puerto Rico, was Guatemala Round 3: 3434 Had no idea, Mom said "Bulgaria", so I guessed it. Turns out it wasn't too many countries off ;) Round 4: 2489 Guessed Iceland due to the language, was Greenland Round 5: 2953 Didn't know. Saw "Benvenuti" and thought North Italy/Switzerland, although due to the number of different languages I now realise Albania makes a lot of sense. Well, total was still 14332.
I got 5000 points on the Greenland round! Just an insane guess... the road was north and linked up with a space which could be mountainous. I reviewed a view towns in Greenland and this was the only one that linked up.
That was my exact reaction too when it turned up Albania... because I thought Northern Italy as well, and specifically Milan (or the outskirts of it), and when you turned around and that car said Milano I was like "yes! knew it!"
That Albania round is bizarre! On the other hand - the German at 20:07 is so bad (it's "Ihre professionelle Wahl", not "Ihre professional Wahl"), you would never see that in Germany or Switzerland. But who can expect to notice that?? The "Milano" car seems to support Italy. If the mapper has handpicked that round then it's well chosen.
12000 dead, so I just pipped you :) This was a freaky game! I went for Italy too in r5 - Albania actually made sense though - it does have an Italian look and feel, albeit with a mix of other influences.
That last one was insane. I went southern Germany, but I was just as confused about it as you. I had the exact same vocalized reaction to it when I saw it was fucking Albania.
good guess on Greenland. I confirmed by being able to see the Danish Street name on the right hand side and knew it wasn't Nuuk from other streetview adventures.
I got full score on the Greenland one, just scanning the few possible places there that are streetview-worthy and found the spot :-) That Albania one was weird though, went for Rome so not too bad.. 20497 points.
11,677 - my worst round being the first, where the straw roof and seemingly french house styling made me think we were in Vietnam instead of Romania :P
I tried this and I allowed myself up to 1 movement, zooming, panning. My first guess was roughly like Geowizard's. I didn't do any movement there, but I think I zommed and panned. Then, I saw signs in Spanish *** SPOILERS *** (Guatemala) and I saw a sign in Slovakian ( I thought it was Polish). Albania also confused me a lot. It had ".de" which I initially thought was Germany, then there were many other clues which seemed to be Italian. I picked Italy. I saw "Kujalleq" in Greenland, and I googled that strange word. I knew that it was probably Greenlandic, with the other small-type words next to it. Apparently it is the municipality of small towns near Cape Farewell, Greenland.
1. It looks kinda Asian... but it could honestly be anywhere on the northern hemisphere. The letters on the banner look kind of roman, so that makes it more likely that this is Europe or North America. Ah, nvm, it says "Magazin" so it's somewhere where they speak French! It doesn't look French to me, so maybe Senegal or Tunisia? Tunisia, more likely. Somewhere on the outskirts of a city? (1.132 points).. it's weird how his picture is slightly more zoomed in than mine was! 2. The sun is in the south and there is a kind of palm tree, so we're slightly above the equator. I somehow feel like we're on a kind of high altitude, maybe on an island? Possibly Taiwan, but Taiwan always looks kinda depressing in this game. The Phillipines then? Let's go there. (2 points) At least I was at almost the exact latitude. 3. Not giving me much to go on here... It's probably northern hemisphere... it's probably Europe or America. There's hills but no mountains, so old mountains. Could be the Ardennes, but it looks more southern than that. I.. dunno, I'mma guess Sicily. (2.606) 4. Misi Kujalleq, that should be a huge clue I suppose, for someone who knows their stuff xD It feels Japanese to me, but the q doesn't make sense and neither do roman letters. Could it be Bhutan? Imma guess Bhutan, because of the mountains. Alas, for some reason the game broke and I can't click guess anymore. Time to watch the rest of the video then.
that albania round though! :D but the German in the window was wrong, which might've been a guess that it's not germany or switzerland. but you have a lot of germans in albania and albanians in germany
Beat you for the second time :D Went for Romania (3569 points), Guatemala (4781 points), Slovenia (4363 points), Faroe Islands (1641 points) and France (2674 points)
I don't think you can judge which side the google car is on the road. When you start a round, you're always looking dead north (not towards the front of the car).
1- couldn’t read the writing, guesses Belgium 2- guessed Lithuania 3- guessed in South Africa 4- Greenland, got over 4.5k 5- I put it in Czechia Just under 10k. Lost to you again. You’re still undefeated against this guy
Haha how can you possibly confuse Zürich (or anywhere in Switzerland) for Albania?! Just for clarity, I live in Switzerland but also have spent 10 days touring Albania... I guessed Turkey.
Paturi and pilote means blankets ... while that last guess there was no way it was Zurich ... no way ... the cars might have been luxury brands, but they were old and the buildings on the right looked east european .. I guessed Palermo, but Albania makes sense for Italian writing...
Randomly beat your record with 21111 points. Got lucky with Guatemala and Slovakia. Failed Albania though, the only one keeping me from an insane score for this format.
They made Geoguessr not free within one week of me starting to play it. How much do you reckon you added to their player base after your Mission Across Wales series blew up? I guess it was a few weeks following that when they announced they could no longer afford to keep it free.
More users wasn't really the problem for the geoguessr team (which, may I add, is only a couple of people who do this as a hobby and have separate jobs). It just happened to be that google increased the price per api call (which basically retrieves the streetview info into the game) to 14 times as much as before. The geoguessr team really did not want the game to become pay to play but it was the only option to save the game and keep the price down (less api calls because less players means less to pay to google).
@@RCgeo I know it was pretty much just a coincidence that the price increase and a slight increase in players happened at the same time, but I think it might have alarmed them a little, so they rushed to close the free to play option. It was a while later that they allowed one free game per day.
I know I'm 5 years too late with this comment now, but you should have moved up the road a bit on that Guatemala round after you made your guess and looked at some of the billboards. There's some pretty spicy ones nearby. I'm pretty sure all of the hotels in the area are advertising certain ... umm services, if you know what I mean.
When did Geoguessr cease to be a free game? I used to play it a lot a few years back, and watching these videos I thought i'd give it a spin again after all thgese years - and I see now it only allows me to play one game a day for free... When did this happen?
Over three months ago. It was originally supposed to happen sometime in September but lots of French streamers (for whatever reason) started playing the game which caused the game to be flooded with new players with free accounts and the devs simply ran out of cash.

That was my exact reaction too when it turned up Albania... because I thought Northern Italy as well, and specifically Milan (or the outskirts of it), and when you turned around and that car said Milano I was like "yes! knew it!"
That last one was ridiculous, even if you could turn round you could easily guess northern Italy or southern Germany
Qaqortoq
GW: Quack or talk
That VC reference was good :D
Always good to see you are only human
Nice vids !!
That Romania guess was naughty!
I'm Brazilian and we use the words Hotel and Suite here, I went right way to Brazil and made 130 points.
You can play Challenges without day limits.
So, as long as you provide the link to the challenge everyone can play without day limits.
good guess on Greenland. I confirmed by being able to see the Danish Street name on the right hand side and knew it wasn't Nuuk from other streetview adventures.
Albania was the perfect place to end this shit show
I got full score on the Greenland one, just scanning the few possible places there that are streetview-worthy and found the spot :-) That Albania one was weird though, went for Rome so not too bad.. 20497 points.
I would've never guessed the last one. This game was cursed.
"Has visible"... Yea that's South America...
Switzerland??? Bahahahahahah 😂😂😂😂 from a zurich native, i can assure you that there would be absolutely no way it would ever look like that 😂😂
Yes
*Albania has many bar's & restaurant's with foreign names. Oslo Bar being one of the most famous in Tirana. ;)*
That was a brutal game! For what it's worth, to me all your guesses seemed quite sound under normal circumstances.
You’ve inspired me to start playing GeoGuessr. I’m doing quite decent, but not at your level of course, lol.
Geowizard: audi, bmw, volkswagen
Also geowizard: Let’s go for Italy
11,677 - my worst round being the first, where the straw roof and seemingly french house styling made me think we were in Vietnam instead of Romania :P
I tried this and I allowed myself up to 1 movement, zooming, panning. My first guess was roughly like Geowizard's. I didn't do any movement there, but I think I zommed and panned. Then, I saw signs in Spanish *** SPOILERS ***
(Guatemala) and I saw a sign in Slovakian ( I thought it was Polish).
Definitely got yourself a new subscriber.
1- couldn’t read the writing, guesses Belgium
2- guessed Lithuania
3- guessed in South Africa
4- Greenland, got over 4.5k
5- I put it in Czechia
Just under 10k. Lost to you again. You’re still undefeated against this guy
I’m pretty sure that you’ve had the greenland round before. Like super long ago.
Hahaha, that last round was so confusing :D
"Ihr professional wahl" thats not german at all haha
Albania makes sense. They import a lot of old cars from middle Europe and the A-Classes look like 15-20yrs old
They made Geoguessr not free within one week of me starting to play it.
@@rohitchaoji yeah they made it one game per day because of so many complaints from players
god do i love this guy
Just barely beat you with 11886. What a wringer of a map. Good game.
Nice one for Greenland (I picked Iceland) but I beat you on this one with 13331 points ;) :D
My guesses:
1. Romania
2. Belize
3. Czech Republic
4. Norway
5. Tunesia
2 ties - 2 wins - 1 loss for me
Wtf. That Tirana thing was insane.
Lol, what a lot of surprises!
Noticed a Swiss bar on that Albanian street.
Albania has a very strong German influence. Many Albanian people work in Germany and most Albanian will speak a little German, no English.
Ur the best man.
I need to give this a go for sure.
Tip: if it’s a romance language, words ending in u means it’s romanian (also the letter â with the accent going the other direction)
13:02 man I thought someone was pinging me on skype and got out of bed to check you can't do me like that
Have you ever done a country streak, no moving, scrolling or zooming? That would be a glorious combination of fun formats.
When is the real life venture coming out?
No scrolling or zooming instantly scrolls
When did Geoguessr cease to be a free game? I used to play it a lot a few years back, and watching these videos I thought i'd give it a spin again after all thgese years - and I see now it only allows me to play one game a day for free... When did this happen?
Over three months ago. It was originally supposed to happen sometime in September but lots of French streamers (for whatever reason) started playing the game which caused the game to be flooded with new players with free accounts and the devs simply ran out of cash.
There are no Vodafone shops in Switzerland.. bad luck..
Hello Geoguessr, Hotel and Suite are Spanish words as well
That makes me think you should do a challenge where you have to travel to the 5 points you get on a game
"The shadows are here. Not the band!" Biggest disappointment in my life...
15:49 it reminded me of the car of the inbetweeners
You should do Las Vegas Nevada
That last round, wow....
