It gave me goosebumps when he played the intro to Cemetery Gates. Do miss the times when great metal guitarists were also great songwriters. Instead of just being extreme and trying to show off their technical skills.
One Dime solo I have to say that really grabbed me the first time I heard it was off the one on Planet Caravan. It's so cool...Michael Schenker's solo on "Born To Lose" on the UFO Obsessions album had the same effect, just pulling me in. Pure feel and soul..
Even though we haven’t met physically you have been a great friend and amazing artist. The knowledge you have could be a very long and extensive book. Euge, you are a hero of mine.
I watch a ton of metal guitar videos every day and this one has even volume levels and clarity. It's such a contrast from the usual, that I wonder why they can't do this as well. It's like you have a loud live tone at a speaking volume. Also these are well explained and well played lessons. Thanks very much.
Greetings Euge. This was very interesting. I did not know about a lot of Darrel’s playing style. I have to Amit, Your accent is very soothing and feels like home. Being from Romania, living in Montana USA, it’s a nice thing. Cheers,,,
Have you got a Patreon man? Great content! I love watching your gear demos, do you give lessons? It’s obvious you have a great understanding of the techniques of a lot of players. I know you do this shit for money as a job, but guys like me all over the globe really appreciate what you do. Not only do you showcase awesome gear we all want but few of us will actually ever own, you know how to make it sound like it should. Thanks man! PS, I remember back in the day I really, really wanted a Dean Dixie Rebel, kind of a cross between an ML and a Washburn Dime Stealth, but it had a giant Confederate Flag graphic. Man am I glad I never got that now days lol.
Nope. Thanks! Really glad to hear! This is more like a hobby but a small part of my income. My main jobs / income is my band Cyhra and producing, recording & mixing bands in my studio 🤟. Yeah I give lessons. More info on my website: www.eugevalovirta.com/
Nice contents man. Discovered your channel when i was looking at friedman smallbox vs. marshall, now here i am almost watched every content of yours. Keep it up!
I am not a huge dime bat fan but I have to say flood is my favorite song from him and I am amazed you covered it as it was clearly not the most famous one
I have so much good shit to say about all your videos. I thought in my head when you were talking about the percussive playing “Yeah that sounds like a few Shining songs” forgetting you were the one featured on them lmao. Your playing on those albums hiked my ears up with the leads the same way Darrells did , they never get old. I was just telling my guitar stores tech how crazy you are playing, even turned him on to shining! 😆 Great Job as always, I still have much to learn from you sir!
Damn man you might have to be Zakks backup incase something happens to him on this reunion tour. Really appreciate ya brother. Not many can sound that close to Dime even if they play note for note. Great playing.
Bro you really did Dime justice on this vid. Your an amazing player and teacher. I never usually watch vids all the way through .I fast forward through them but not your vids. Awesome job!
Those are probably the cleanest percussive rakes/mutes I’ve ever heard, those ones you play for 5 Minutes Alone. How do you get them to sound like that without accidentally getting unwanted harmonic noise in with them as well?
There is this book called Dime Bags Riffer Madness. Its all the Guitar World stuff he ever wrote all edited into a book by a guy called Nick Bowcott. Nick was friends with Dime and this book is fantastic for any Dime fan or any person who is interested in learning metal in general. The book is so much fun as its pretty much written by Dime himself. Must read.
@@EugeValovirta230V yeah iv had it for years! hahahh i never realised the value of it until i grew up and Dime became even more of a legend for me. It taught me everything i know about playing metal and i only realised years down the lline how cool this book is. hahah its only a few quid on internet and really cool if you are a die hard Dimebag fan. so much fun!
Todella siisti video! Tätä on ootettu. Dimellä oli niin ominainen tyyli lähestyy kitaraa, että jokaisen metallikitaristin kannattaa jotain poimia sieltä omiin juttuihin!
If I may sir... Coming from a fellow Dime disciple. In reference to Revolution is my name the frequency range of your wah wah's sweep needs to be adjusted. It needs to be set so that it encompasses more of the range its filtering through. That way the "wah" sweeps through the harmonic. And the speed that you do the bends should match the speed of the wah.
I’ve always had a massive amount of respect for Dimebag as a guitarist and a person, but I’ve never been a Pantera fan, especially not in their “Let’s just copy Exhorder” days (aka CFH and beyond) but their 1988 record Power Metal is phenomenal and it’s a damn shame they decided to bury it.
Thanks for the question! I don’t think he used tapping that much and the symmetrical scales I go through on Part 1 👍😊. At least tapping wasn’t an essential part of his style like EVH has for example.
Symmetrical scale isn’t really a scale (in terms of music theory) but just a pattern anybody can come up with as they like and then just repeat with other strings 😊👍. Like Dime said: ”Just use your ears and if it works and sounds good, it’s good”.
@@HighPriestVaticanAssasin Had them all. And actually still do :-). The number 1 is almost black & white since it's been watched so many times that the colours from the VHS has faded away :-)

Thanks Lachlan! Much appreciated 🙏
The "frightening" thing about you Euge is that you can emulate all these different styles/guitarists with such ease. Total respect to you sir.
Thanks! 😎🙏🤟
I get goosebumps everytime I hear the ending to Floods. You played it beautifully as well brotha 🤘💪💯

Dime studied fast technique through Batio and style through Eddie, couple that with his own virtuosity and that’s why he is so damn legendary
