I have a FREE alternative to thumbstick steering accuracy thanks to some steam user. Push the thumbstick forward and that is now the middle of your steering. You can better feel how far you move along its ridge.
Ive done the same, you can roll the wheel for more accuracy and smaller movements this way. I learnt it playing SSX Tricky on PS2. you move the stick forward to duck for more speed but can still turn, then it just became natural for driving sims.
The idea is actually quite interesting and I could see this being useful for remote play while traveling. I could never give up my Fanatec set up (yes that silly money option 😆) but I drive on controller for anything so having a "wheel" option that worked with controller would be nice. I agree though that lots like hot garbage. We need a proper engineered solution.
I adore both the concept and market gap they're trying to fill, but it feels like it's still in that concept testing stage, which when paying for it doesn't sit so well. Hopefully with feedback though it can be improved
I think even if this device worked with no issue it is still not even close to an experience with even a budget wheel like a Logitech G29. Kind of neat idea though, and great to save space or couch racing. Im sure some one could make a redesign & 3d print it to iron out the issues. You can get second hand Sim stuff cheap, a while agoI picked up a Logitech G25 for PC with pedals and gear shifter for £40. Recently I got a Fanatec CSL DD bundle for £250. Great vid, a lot of testing time and detail.
If you're really in to it and enjoy it spend what you like. I just got a Fanatec DD, cockpit, load cell pedals, bass shakers and VR headset & love it. It still cost less than a new set of tyres and a couple of track days. And the enjoyment of online racing in iRacing is worth every penny for me.
Turning up the controller sensitivity isn't going to do anything. Did you even watch the video? With the weird contraception on, the stick cannot reach the full length. That's why he kept understeering, dude.
I feel like I've seen better controller wheel accessories before with more tiny teeth. This one seems like a dud honestly. If you find a better controller wheel thingy, you should definitely review that.
One more thing, I wanna mention. I think these things are more accessible on Xbox controllers as the analog stick is much further away AND the position of the home button is at the top and clear from any clutter. These things may simply just not be that compatible with PS controllers.
You'll probably find there's a way to fine tune the controller and game handling to get the adapter to feel sort of connected.. Trust a woman to notice 2mm.. 😂
skill isue if ur not smart enough to change the game settings for this device u also have to change game settings if u use a FFB wheel thinking that all this works with stock settings is ur own fault.
Great overview! Bummer that the precision is not there. That's all we would need from that accessory.
It probably would help to reduce the outer deadzone to get a 100% turn in with it, even when the stick cant reach the brim
Definitely a consideration that I didn't contemplate previously. I'll have to give it a go and see if it improves the situation any
Often wondered if these worked. Now you've answered my Q's!
One day I'm sure they will. For now some tweaks to the design are required
I think this product little struggle 🤔
I dunno, once i realised the nub didnt reach the PS button i would‘ve stuck some blutack or something there. Seems the obvious thing to do.
Absolutely cracking video brother. Also, what are those teeth!? That is horrendous engineering!

Shall deffo be trying this!

Great and informative as always!
Good LAWD that steering sensitivity in Assetto Corsa is in TENTS. 😂I recommend you turn that down a smidge.
Over a thousand on “just” a wheel and pedals? My wheel base cost more than that… I feel like a right sad twat now 🤣
I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to call you out 😂😂

Iv spent around £6k on my sim rig. Absolutely love it 👍🏻
@@vanishingpointracing.2199 What wheel base do you use?
you could also just drive by holding the rim of the stick and use the gate as your entire range instead of tapping or trying to guess . . .
Turn up your controller sensitivity in the game.
I will definitely give this a go

I just think it's better to just use your fingers. It'll be way more precise.
just change steering setting in asc so itll be easier with controller
When you said understeer in Real Racing, I understood this wasn't worth it😂

I'll have a look for more and at the Xbox side too in the future. Glad you found the video useful
This video is so good tbat i subscribed. thanks
My logitech dd pro and trophy playseat is probably the best purchase I’ve ever made.
if you really enjoy it and use it its worth every penny, I feel the same with my fanatec dd.
this is perfect for mobile just Bluetooth your controller and play
🍿🍿🍿
Thx
ngl, wonder why i do better on keyboard than controller on racing games
i guess i just have so so much more practice on keyboard than controller
most racing games favor speed of input instead of accuracy,

Lol what did you expect
Just 3d printer on 😂
does it have force feedback?
No

Couldn't you turn up the stick sensitivity in GT7?
No, he would have to lower the upper dead zone of the thumbstick.
