    If you order online or eBay, make sure to ask seller to verify seal is a BH4519i. Anything else should be returned or not accepted as genuine.

    • @HuuTonyTran
      @HuuTonyTran ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TunerwithKidsAnyways the reason that I'm here is that my Vietnamese Brother has a 2003 Lexus IS300 2JZGE VVTI Dark Green with just over 205,000km on it as a daily car.
      The issue is we bought this car and don't know if the Timing Belt has been replaced with the Water pump or not.
      But the major problem his having is that we can see wetness oil from behind the engine and the oil sump pan at the bottom is coated in oil 😕.
      I've come to a conclusion that it's the Rubber Cam Seals & Crank Seals that's become worn/cracked and has never been replaced with the Rocker Cover Gasket as well would you happen to have a video guide on that like do I have to remove the whole front bumper & radiator all off before doing the work?

    I commented on your transmission removal video, but then realized you had this video as well. Might be better to post my question here instead ... lol
    I'm told there are two seals on either side of the transmission. I believe mine are leaking from those two seals on my 98 GS400 and already got the two timken 221207 seals to replace them. Have you replaced these seals? The one on the passenger side I think is connect to a "gear selector shaft?" Any recommendations on how to tackle them?

  • @ruleroftheundersky570

    The hell with ebay... Stop counting pennies, and gambling. Spend the extra, and get the right part first time around. I've bought Toyota/Lexus OEM parts from both for my Supra/GS300, and can say they're legit. You can get OEM parts off ebay, but 9 out of 10 you'll be getting counterfeit parts from China. Ask me how I know... I bought so called Toyota/Lexus OEM seals once from ebay having a feeling the price was to good. Only after I paid for them I realize they were being shipped from China... I knew then I was for sure getting counterfeit parts. When I got them I knew almost right away they seemed off. I compared the the 2 cam seals from ebay with ones from Driftmotion, and verified they were in fact counterfeit. Nothing matched up with them at all. Hell... I don't even think they were for the 2JZ at all in fact. I pretty much tossed them into the trash along with the front main seal, and valve cover seals which came in the bundle for roughly $20. I ordered the next ones from Driftmotion. It's what I get for trying to count pennies, and being cheap. The one, and only time I'll cheap out again. Lesson learned. Last thing... Make sure to install the seals right first time around...

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It calls for general purpose grease. It’s just for the initial start up when dry. Once in motion it wears off anyway and engine oil takes over.

      Yea common on any engine with over 200k miles. Transmission needs to come off but depending on what other leaks are going on, it would be a good idea to do all seals while in there.
