If ya want to practice backing up the trailer, go to a Walmart or anywhere that has a big parking lot and practice there. Ya can find an area with no cars. You can practice backing into parking spots and such.
just watched the video of you saying you wanted this kayak but it wasnt the right time. clicked on your page to see that you acheived your goal! Big congrats. Defiently subbed.
Was excited to see a video on the 136! I am still looking at both the 120 and 136, but for a truck bed vice trailer. Keep up the great videos Jay. Another great one
Did you make or buy that rod tube holder. I've been wanting to make one and I like the clamps down ends on yours. If you built it, do you have a video of the build? Thanks
Hello Jay, looking at the A/P 136/120 close to pulling the tiger b4 the season rush, is that the HABOR FREIGHT TRAILER? Does it meet the needs of launching/retrieving kayaks? Thanks in advance. Arthur j
Hey Arthur! You’ll love the AP136. It’s so comfortable and stable. That is the harbor freight trailer. It’s the most affordable option to go with. There is some extra work that goes into it though. Besides assembly, you’ll also need it inspected and registered to be road legal. You may be able find a used one that is already road legal which would save you a couple hundred bucks.
Great informative video. I'm looking to get into kayak fishing, and noticed that your rig is registered. Is that because of the motor, or is it required for all vessels?
Thanks for watching Mark! I run the lights and finder on the battery box in the rear tank well. Running the motor with anything else is likely to cause interference.
I really like the looks of the 136. My question is about the draft of the boat with the motor down. How shallow can you get without pulling the motor up? I fish a bunch of smaller lakes with some significant sand bars to cross.
Any interference issues on your Garmin when the motor is running? I just installed a Garmin UHD 93sv and I get interference when running the motor at any speed except 10. At full speed I get no interference. I'm running a separate battery for my graph, and the ferrite bead is installed on the transducer cable.
Thanks Pablo! I don’t but I’ll be making a video soon on the basics of a fishing TH-cam channel. Let me know what you’d like to know. Hit me up if you have questions too! Thanks for watching my guy!
Absolutely! ImI don’t quite have it where I want it but I’ll be working on it over the next month or so and will revisit with a video. Thanks for watching brother 👍🏽
Hello Jay. How are you doing? I have a question. I noticed you are in Pennsylvania; I’m in New Jersey. Would the gentleman who did your lights and accessory install on your 136 be interested in doing another? I think his name was Fernando (F-train). I have the same kayak as you. Old town 136. I’d be willing to pay him.
Perfect at 65 just grease axle bearings regularly there are grease certs just inside the wheel . I have this setup as well on my channel the headache racks really help to see while backing but a 3 ft extension on the tongue was the best.
@@BeardedDadFishing used a 8 ft stick of 2 in welded. To 2 cross braces then through factory frame replaced tounge with 2 in ball used washers to space inside gap on tongue hitch. Not bad if u can weld just center and weld if not lots of weld shops hidden everywhere. I should probably do a more in depth video of the current version of my trailer.not sure why I’ve never thought about it but your studio vid with the notes could really help me I think
Nice, I have the orange and black one. I use 2 batteries. 100 Ah and 9 Ah

Great advice. Thank you 🙏🏽
Look up ‘backing up trailer using side mirrors trick’…it’s a game changer. Great vid on the yak!
The magnet dish idea is epic..! It like… why didn’t I think of that…? Thanks bro.
Glad you liked it Steve! I don’t even know how I came up with it 😂
Thanks for watching!
You took the kayak to another level bro. Nice ride 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks man!

Thanks Luke! Taking it out this weekend for a tournament so it’ll be a great time. She floats beautifully!
Thanks for the support my friend!
Maybe some day thats a lot of money that I just don't have but man that thing looks great
Awesome setup Jay !!!
Thanks Ron! Appreciate you!

It was made but not by me. I’ll try to get the specs and do a separate video this winter. Thanks for watching!
Camo is strong just like red is fast. 😂. Another good, solid video.
😂💯
Thanks for watching!

I'm thinking of extending the Hitch point too help backing up
I wanted to extend the trailer but there is some welding involved and that’s not my area of expertise 😅

@@poppaseed8588 thanks for watching! It’s because it’s motorized. You wouldn’t need it otherwise.
Great video. Will the battery under the seat run the extra lights or do you need another battery setup like yours. Just bought autopilot 120 thanks

@@BeardedDadFishing thanks waiting on my battery to be delivered. I put it in the water first day i got it paddled around..love it

Give or take at 18" you'll want to pull it up.
@@BeardedDadFishing Thanks!
Hey hey Fernando!❤
Great video, Let me know if you decide to sell that Old Town 136…. Love the setup
Thank you. Considering sizing down to a 120 but I’m not sure yet.
Is that the Harbour Freight trailer? Thinking of grabbing one for my AP120, but not sure that's the direction I go
Yes sir! The folding trailer. Thanks for watching!
@@BeardedDadFishing thank you for putting out great content. It’s very much appreciated!

I did have an issue. I fixed it by going into the Garmin settings and turning on the TVG setting to medium.
@@BeardedDadFishing thank you. I’ll try that. 👊🏼
Great video - do you have a video on how you setup a camera on the kayak and how you edit the videos ?

13:46 I have that exact cam strap, it’s ugly but has held up over two years tho
I like those straps 👍🏽
Anyway you can make a video on the trailer? I’m in the middle of converting a small trailer for a couple of my pdls. Just need some ideas!
Absolutely! ImI don’t quite have it where I want it but I’ll be working on it over the next month or so and will revisit with a video.

I recommend getting some of those white post markers for trailer so you can see where it is easier. The smaller trailers can be very tricky.

How much does a trailer for one of these Kayak 136 cost? Thank you
The finished product is right around $1k. You had to get these road legal first.
i'd like to see more about the trailer.

Same here, what type of trailer and what mods have you done?

Why you need an anchor when you have spot lock?
Saves on battery but I don't use it often.
I like my JK Kraken Elite, but like these other tub toys... it isn't a Kayak.
Kayaks wear skirts and can be rolled.
How has your trailer held up. What speed do you tow at?
So far it’s been doing great. A few 4 hour trips in and no complaints. I keep it to 65 or below.

@@claysaroundtown thanks for sharing! How easy was it to do the 3’ extension? I’ve got zero welding experience.
