Nice video as always💪🏻 No special goals, just enjoying nature, fishes. No scaling down, maybe just feeder down to 20 grams. Hello to Dad, and as we say in Croatia: Bistro!! 😊
Maybe some tips to all of you anglers. Put the hookbait first on a tiny layer of pellets and then put the rest on top. Your bait stays in the feeder instead of falling out when they feed. Another tip is to put the hook between the elastic and the hookbait so that the hookbait is hold against the bend of the hook. When they feed in cold water they only take the hookbait and not the hook. You will catch more fish this way. Try it. Sorry for my bad english, I'm dutch, keep on fishing lads
Great video as always . You fish like so many of us do ..... sticking to what you know works ! My goal this year is to introduce my 6year old nephew, Yhomas , to the world of fishing and get him hooked
Another great video! Ive always had your dad's mindset..... Scale down in winter. But, there were less commercial fisheries when i got in to angling, in the 80's. My goal this year is to do more traditional cage feeder fishing, and bank my first 7lb plus Tench!
Hi it’s been a while since I’ve watched due to work commitments, thoroughly enjoyed that , got me biting at the bit to get out ,I had a bucket list a few years ago and completed except for one fish and that was a pumpkin fish 🐠 so that’s my main goal , ( by design) and I’m also going after 9lb+ tench , carp wise I’m on the hunt for a British 30lb+ mirror carp …. Easy 😂😂😂😂….. keep vids coming , brilliant viewing 👍🏼
Been abit impatient for a new video 😂 glad someone's actually got some maracas to do different videos so good on you pal. My goal is to hit my second season hard and beat my pb which i caught saturday just gone at 13lb 3oz right on my birthday 🤌 glad to see you and papa westy back on the bank 👌
Nice film as per the norm with some cracking fish Caught 🎣🐟 Paul that barbel 👍💪👌 😎 great to see your both back to your fighting weights and doing the biz once again 👍 my goal for this year is to get myself to Barston lakes and try to catch a unit on the feeder gear 😎
Cracking video as always Westy, thank you. I only managed to get out on the bank 6 times last year, and blanked twice. So my fishing goals for this year are to get out fishing much more, try different venues, and save the blank more! :)
It was a great morning's fishing and thank you both for sending the carp down to my end of the causeway and also for the wafters. I will put them to good use over the comiing month's. Another great video and tell Mr Westy SNR that I am on the lookout for that woodpecker he spotted. Keep up the great work! BR, John
AAARRR Your back, Great. Good info I always wondered if scaling back works. thanks for the video. My BIG fat goal is to catch 20lb+ I am up to 19lb. My 2nd goal is to go fishing I feel over smashed my shoulder last week & I have been told no fishing for a least a month, sad.
i never scale down any ways mat ..no matter what time of year it is!....but looking at this i just might put another rod out on scaled down rigs....another good video guys ...tight lines...
Hi Wes, Thanks for all the tips and tricks, love the way you present the English way of fishing. A goal for me would be to come over to England and fish on a fishery. Do you need a special fishing permit/licence to fish on a english fishery ?.......mabey you could go into the do's and dont's for foreingers in a next clip whilst fishing in England ?......Thanks and Keep Up the Good Work
Great video Westy, I want to catch double figure carp say over 15lb to over or 20lb and some of those fish will be on float too and I’d like a decent sized tench too around the 5lb or bigger
Great video Westy. My goal is to enter a fishing completion this year. Used to do it loads as a lad but having only just got back into my fishing I’ve not yet mustered the courage. Oh and a 20lb carp would be nice too!
Another great video westy, glad your back. My goal is to win a comp down my local lake too many 2nds and 3rds and last year. Keep the vids coming mate me and my boy absolutely love your work
Interesting video. My goal for 2024 is to catch as many different species of coarse fish as possible including a grayling. I'm in my mid 70s and never caught one but it's on my bucket list!
Another gr8 video westy, keep up the good work #tightlines my aim for this year is to get up in to the 20s club, currently on 16lb mirror carp on the feeder using 2mm pellet mix, with size 10 hook bandum on 4" hooklength with 8mm wafter.
Eh up westy, nice to see you and dad out again mate, pleased dads better you picked a nice day for him to go fishing ,you both had some nice fish between you ,somebody told me you were about as straight as Oliver Twist hehe. Joking mate. Tite lines.
Hello mate great video as always.....my 2024 fishing target is quite simple ..i want to catch a perch,,,,,,,over years of fishing i really dont think i have ever caught a perch much more than 1lb .....so anything 3lb plus would represent a great improvement...,,,any tips would be appropriated ....tight lines pal
Something to note lighter lines and smaller hooks are snapped / bent easier on stiffer rods... Guru / Preston gear is more made for match freeder rods not so much barbel feeders...
@@WestysAngling Couldn't find much on them. Crossed off the list now. Wanted a small one, will look at shimano 2500 now and compare it with the regal. Cheers
@@WestysAngling my fault, i was going contact you to see if I could add them but 5 mins later got email saying dispatched. Thanks for the offer though and all the cracking videos. I used to fish 2 carp rods but since your videos, do one carp rod and one method feeder rod. Wow what a bend. Largest caught on feeder rod 15 lb with guru gauge 12lb self made rig. 😊
My goal for 2024 is get used with my new partner and prepare for 2025 Lithuanian carp fishing championship. Side goal - amateur method fishing championship top10 spot - its jus side hustle
Interesting to see what happened with the two different set ups. Nice Barbel Papa West it’s still a species I need to catch. Goal No:1 - Catch on Westy’s Wafter. Goal No:2 - Catch a Barbel. Goal No:3 - Catch 13 more Carp than I did in 2023 & break the 600 Carp caught in my 9 months of fishing. #smudgeronthebank 😉🎣🪱 #coppullcavemanwithafishrod 😉🎣🪱

Glad you was happy with it John 👍🏻
My goal for 2024 is to get out more often with my young son and my father, target some larger fish and try some overnight sessions with my son.
Great video Westy. My goal this year is to feel confident on a session, regularly catch and purely ensure I'm doing the right thing!

Met a young fan of yours at german lane today, gave him a few westys wafters to try, saved him the blank.....goal achieved.
I believe so 😂 I got a message ! Haha, glad he caught !
The one thing I found is those mini hybrid feeders don't work for me ! Changed to a small flatbed and away we go !
Great video as always . You fish like so many of us do ..... sticking to what you know works !
My goal this year is to introduce my 6year old nephew, Yhomas , to the world of fishing and get him hooked

Barbelellous fishing Dad !
Is that a korum shadow freespool reel? If so what do you rate it? Great vids, love watching your channel btw.
Cheap ! And the drag isn’t smooth ! The Daiwa regal is a better alternative
