How are you using the bands with worm

I have about a 2hr drive for my nearest barbel, so not done it for many years.

That's a really nice fish and 36lb allows me to estimate that the sturgeon on my pond is probably around the 45lb mark (potentially much heavier). There are only 2 sturgeon in my pond / small lake and the other one is much smaller. I need to fish them out and this fishery in Thirsk would be a cracking place to relocate them to since it isn't too far from my house. That water at the fishery is a beautiful colour and I'm hoping that once I get all the big carp and sturgeon out of my pond the clarity will return to my pond as it used to be like an Alpine lake before the carp and sturgeon went in (it is clay lined). Then I can return it to being a trout pond. The big sturgeon went in many years ago and has been eating crayfish every since - I can only imagine how big it actually is but when it went in it was only slightly smaller than the one caught in this video. The other sturgeon in my pond is only around 1m long so nowhere near as heavy. Good work and best of luck the next time you're fishing.

As someone else mentioned - get some 19 spike crampons (cheap as from a certain online retailer) to slip over your wellies. I was recently introduced to them by 2 old boys on my local stretch - game changer and they may save you some real bother!! All the best for the New Year

Great result Westy..... Ps. I bought those korum prebanded hooks, but the 8mm wafters don't hold very well..... So I used your corn band tip.....perfect.... Ended up catching a 7lb pike on a bright pink bandum, when retrieving... method feeder and 12lb guru ngauge..... Fortunately it hooked just inside the front of mouth so unable to bite line.😊 Thanks for all your great tips and videos

Congrats on your first Ribble barbel! You fished in tough conditions with river on the rise. Par for the course losing tackle unfortunately but you can mitigate it somewhat by ensuring your lead or feeder does not move when you cast in. You had little chance of that on this session though! Well done again and welcome to the Ribble tackle graveyard!

Why not use fluro carbon for your end tackle,and avoid your break offs?

Nice to see you catch the Barbel,and you starting to realise that tactics catch you the fish,and not expensive tackle.The scent trail brought the fish to you,and your hit and miss searching method was a waste of time. Fishing in a bed of hemp and groundbait is what brought the fish in.Great vids,and getting more interesting
