There are speakers on the roof as they are part of the fire alarm system but under normal operation they just play music and building announcements. Usually places with voice evac systems will have the music switched off in non-public areas, obviously Houndshill couldn’t be arsed to do that!

That's a very good point! I remember going to Houndshill in the past and they played music on the car park levels too even though they used horn speakers which are very crap at playing music. I just haven't seen any other building with music enabled on all speakers but I do like it as well

I think the Balloon Tram was modernised during the tram systems upgrade. As is common with major upgrades in England, everything broke down on re-opening if memory serves, so the Balloon was modernised and brought back into service to allow at least part of the line to work. The doors being modernised to work with latest regulation, etc. I could be wrong. It's like with the 313's down here in on the coast, when Southern started running them, the doors only had an audible warning for closing. Now it's a much louder alarm for both open and close, with a different sound altogether.
I remember that Castle hotel had such a dodgy lift when I was a kid that It gave me a fear of lifts..kept getting stuck between floors for a few seconds and then as we were leaving it was out of service…
Ever plan on returning? Maybe try to surf the tower assuming the injunction has expired yet.

In Queensland, we have eight types of trains, but most look the same as another stock, so oftentimes it does feel that only one type of stock operates. Same probably goes for the trams over there, minus the identical-ness probably.

I went to the Norbreck Castle Hotel ages ago for the car rally presentation when there use to be a car rally on the prom 🙂

The first lift that had the fujitec voice was more than likely installed by a generic company called "Lancashire and Cumbria lifts". They are likely to put fujitec voices on their lifts. I have been in one that has said Floor exit floor when it got to the ground lol.
Oh my days Beno this is a rough place, I've spent many a day there. Didn't Ally Law try and crash into one of those seafront hotels n got the same reaction from that dude? The trams are the best! I still have an affection for Blackpool tower but it's been ruined by Merlin over commercialising it, extortionate price and long waits to get in these days.

Hello Beno, could you please release a normal video featuring all the content recorded inside & outside of this tram 3:10 ? It's freaking amazing and I'd like to watch it without commentary if possible.
I don't think anyone would be interested. The tram only did a clean acceleration once or twice. The rest of the clips I have are of trams not accelerating well, which is not at the quality level I want for my channel.

At least that tram is better than the time they turned a bus into a full-on train (basically a bus body on some train wheels IIRC)
I think music is to scare off seagulls and I think that old box thing that looks old could be an old incinerator that's not used anymore
The speakers are part of the tannoy and are also used as the fire alarm, they play music normally as do the ones in the centre

Actually, the Blackpool Norbreck Hotel owned by Britannia Hotels, (the same company that owns the Metropole, Savoy and some others) was actually a castle at first. Later converted into a hotel. By the way, I love your videos and have visited The Norbreck many times before.

Blackpool 😃 this place is my holiday place cause I have family members up here but it’s nice to see that you managed to get round here. Not many good lifts but did you get the lift in Boots pharmacy? I know there’s a lift in there but I don’t know if it runs or not. Also a very odd tram bus lol 😂 I wonder when they got the Enviro 400 Hybrid City’s as I thought they where London only like the NRM NB4L or as many people no it as is Borris Bus. You should come back to go in Blackpool tower as there is some awesome manual door lifts worked by staff and I challenge you to walk and lay down in the glass floor which and hold up to 2 elephants! But yeah it’s a very good holiday place. Just wish there was an Ecodisc as it would make it look better.
