Hi CS, I too am a fin keel, drawing 1.9M. Don't let it put you off. Although it is good to be cautious when first getting to know that new boat of yours, she will cope with creeks like this. Not a bad idea to practice running aground on some soft mud and getting off again. Do this on a rising tide and it will give you lots of confidence. You may have to drive forward with the rudder hard over and us the prop wash to turn the boat 180 degrees and motor off. Takes a bit of nerve but worth a go. The App is call iAis, don't miss off the small I in front of Ais. You will need to buy the iAis electronic box to go with it, made by Digital Yacht. Enjoy the season.
We draw 1.85m which is crazy for the boat size but great upwind! Two things i learnt over winter while sailing 1) its bloody cold 2) once you've experienced it, it becomes a lot easier to be calm in "those situations"
Loved the banter and your forlorn looks to camera.😂 BTW 1013 mbar is not the average pressure it is one component in the definition of an “International Standard Atmosphere’ (ISA) - yachtmasters eh? fffffff😉⛵️
Ha ha. Thanks Norman, if Dave Oliver had said that I would have given a forlorn look to camera but coming from you I find it a useful and interesting piece of information. Stay safe...
Lee Shores, Lazy Jacks and Lunches , yes it is ! The very one I have been sitting in, watching your marvellous vblogs at weekends either weathered in or suffering mechanical issues. I've just moved her back to Brighton Marina after a hairy delivery singlehanded ANGELIQUE II is a 1972 Trintella 1A sail number 727, I'm hoping to head to the Solent during the season, so I'll look out for you guys at hostelry in the vicinity ! ...... keep those vids coming, they are great!
Lovely Dutch boat. Seaworthy. Where did you deliver her from? Any time you're in the Solent, feel free to drop us a message and we can arrange to enjoy a pint. Dave
Lee Shores, Lazy Jacks and Lunches . I didn't have far to go, the Cinque port of Rye... I was right up the river with a 1hr window to leave with little or no return..... The old girl never gave up even with waves that cause serious prop cavitation as the 4 metre waves and wind over tides was bordering on 'foolhardy' but I just had to do it..... After 6 hrs the first day I pulled in to Eastbourne, rested over night and then banged on to B M..... Once I tided up, I have to admit I had very large ships ration and toasted to the old girl!
Hello again Pete. No, fin keel drawing 1.9m. There are times I wish I was a bilge keeler. I’d be a bit less nervous. Not got completely stuck in the mud yet. Maybe not trying hard enough.
Nice little place to visit. Somewhere to put on my go to list. Thanks. Andy UK

You a bilge keeler for this creek crawling malarky, then you can stay the night.
