Great place Newtown Creek. Tell Dave teabags have plastic in them so just bag them up. Andy UK

We were in Newtown Creek on Tuesday and at anchor (just a 15’ Fletcher) and were almost instantly approached by the Harbourmaster for a voluntary contribution. We gave £5 for dropping our anchor and they seemed content with that :). Would like to go further up to Shalfleet but very conscious of the shallows and apparent obstructions. Thanks for the video :)

As you might already know, diesel is lighter than water. So water will settle to the bottom of the fuel tank. When you get water in your fuel tank like that, you can run a siphon hose to the bottom of the tank and pump out the water. Just let the fuel tank settle for a few hours before starting. I recommend an electric siphon pump (fairly inexpensive). Probably a good idea to do that every so often anyway just to help keep the bottom of the fuel tank clear of water.

Agreed, I have an electric symphony pump and tend to clear the bottom of the tank every 6 months or so.

    We’ve just discovered your channel!!!
Newtown Creek is like our second home... We spent half of the winter there this year 😊
We’ve got a few videos there too!

Hi WW. Welcome aboard. Can’t wait to get out again. Are/were you permanently berthed in Newtown?

@@LeeShoresLazyJacksandLunches we anchored there during part of October and the whole of November. It’s free during the winter 😛 We do love the Isle of Wight. Left England in December and are currently in France. How are things over there? Still not allowed out sailing?

@@SailingSeabird Allowed to visit for safety checks but no sailing or overnighting. Hopefully not too much longer with the fast roll out of the vaccine. Stay safe in France.

Are you saying that you now have to pay to anchor unless you’re a NT member? It used to be free with an option to make a contribution. Few years since I’ve been there.

Good point. I believe that they ask for a contribution. They don't enforce payment under anchor.

I do like your vids but only catch 50% of the dialogue - sound quality is poor.
