I literally just bought 4 of them for my trip to Europe in a week . No more lost suitcase for me !
Can you imagine going to baggage claim for them to tell you “we Don’t know where your bag is”

But why? It would make no difference because tile is also on the find my network. So it doesn’t matter if it’s a tile or an airtag, every iPhone would report the same thing. But I would rather have an airtag than a tile because airtags can play sound, it can be found within centimeters of the iPhone for my iPhone 12 and I can change the battery. Not sure if a new tile allows you to change the battery but the old ones did not creating waste.
@@robinellis83 Tile is not on Apple's Find My network as of now. Tile currently uses their own crowd sourced services from people who have the Tile app installed, regardless if they're on Android or iOS

This is really cool actually because something like this could be used for real-time package tracking.
it is what they do already....a barcode that is scanned on the packeage is better than a wireless transponder... every day of the week.
He said it takes hours for a ping so how do you do real time

A lot of ppl comparing tile to air tags but they always fail to mention to unlock many of tiles features it’s a monthly/yearly subscription the main reason I drop all my tiles and switch to air tags
This is great. Thanks, Robert. My main reason for wanting an AirTag is for when I travel, which I do a lot, and check a suitcase. This confirms that I can see at least what city it's in after I arrive. If there's a fairly recent notification that my suitcase is in a different city than I am, I'm going to be the first in line at the Lost Luggage counter! Thanks for doing this.

You would probably only see which airport it goes tho, you can’t actually track the flight real time cuz all the iPhones have no signal up there.

Well, I would hope it would leave the plane right where you left it bc the plane and cleaning crew should be checking that nothing stays on the plane, could be dangerous... Just like if you don’t board your flight they will have to remove your bags from the plane for security reasons
@@ja_u i don’t know how often you fly but i fly 4 times a month and the cleaning crew doesn’t clean like you’d hope they do. There’s always some trash left on the planes. Also if you hide it it would be impossible to find
imagine placing air tags on bears so hikers can be alerted of their presence. dunno but watching this while high and thats what thought of. lol

That only happens after 3 days, and most delivery drivers will only be in contact with the package for a few hours before giving it off to another driver
The speaker in airtags can be easily removed so could be used to track anyone and an iPhone notification to the guy being tracked is the only thing stopping this. Most would probably think it’s nothing or ignore it. It could be under their car or hidden for ages.
AirTag can also be a great way to always know where your car is. Your car could get stolen but you’d be able to track it or even if you just lost it in the parking lot.
I wonder how it would do finding your car in a big parking garage...? hmmm...

My car was stolen last year during the pandemic and I had a tile in it so I was able to find it I know this will be 10 times better as there’s iphone users everywhere

Today is the day I received a notification that a Air Tag was detected near me. Had to find this video I thought I was being stocked honestly. I was like why is this tracking with me 😂

I live in Florida. I bought an airtag and was having issues. So, I exchanged it for another. A few days later Apple called. They were trying to diagnose the issues. I had not removed it from my account. The call was a request for specifics on my issue (my phone would not track it beyond 5 feet). When they called I saw my returned tag was now showing up in an Apple location in California!
Just FYI blurring put your map like that doesn’t do much. It’s still super easy to figure out where that is. Not in a creepy way just you might want to hide it better in the future.

The thing that surprises me most is how fast it arrives, any time i order anything from the US im usually looking at least 2 weeks for it to arrive in Aus

One way to improve this test: Have someone at the destination log in with your Apple ID and “locate” the airtag. Instead of just open the box.. maybe ship it to a UPS store or something like that so you need to seek it out.

This video really helped me thanks because I thought it just used Bluetooth and so wouldn’t track far at all which would make it kind of useless but it tracks amazing for long distances as the video shows! Thanks

A lot of ppl are say Airtags and Chipolo are the ones to use. I’ve used tile in my kids back pack and keys..found the keys a day later but the kids book bag was never found via tile. It was finally returned to the school 2 days after by a parent who found it in the playground

You might package it with a book and send it across the U.S. at media rate. That's usually surface mail, so it should have some interesting hits along the way-small towns, highways, or whatever.

well in iOS 14.6 final version, they've removed the developer menu. or it's activated in a new way which hasn't been discovered yet. the 5 taps in any case, don't work anymore

So a $30 tag can be found anywhere in the world with Bluetooth but a $400 Apple Watch can’t be unless it’s cellular or you’re connected to it? Makes sense
Question: How secure is an Apple Airtag? Can an airtag be hacked/stolen? e.g. Can it be deregistered or re registered to a different Apple ID account without the owners permission/knowledge?
If you remove the battery and put it back, it will make a sound. Do this several times and there will be a different sound. It means the AirTag is factory reset

I wanted to try something similar, and bagged up an airtag to send to the UK, but had to complete a customs declaration and one of the questions was does the package contain an electronic device with a lithium battery, which it does, so I decided not to send it. Did I do the right thing?

Did the Smart Tag not "beep" during its travels while away from its iPhone? That could have alerted the delivery service? Made them suspicious of the box's contents?

Both the AirTag and the SmartTag are basically on the same level, with the SmartTag being slightly better than the AirTag, while Tile is just a disappointment.
How is the battery life?

Interesting. We ship a USPS Flat Rate box from CA to FL at least once a month. Once or twice a year, a package will be held up. USPS then tells us they are 'investigating' the delay. Maybe this solution can help us, help USPS to find a package lost in their system.
The only place you can lose an airtag is my house due to the complete lack of apple devices to pick it up 😂

Hmmm seems like building a tracking device into a reusable shipping container isn’t a bad idea. First industry that comes to mind is pharmacies where sometimes deliveries of very expensive medications get sent to the wrong place or stolen.

Fun video! I did a similar experiment by putting an airtag into a log and seeing how far it would float down the river by my house.
My results were far less interesting than yours.
What I’ve discovered is that an iPhone or iPad must be near the airtag for some period of time before it pings.
This makes sense - you wouldn’t want the network overwhelmed by having dozens of devices pinging when they are just driving or walking by.
So in the case of my river trip - it’s not “phoning home” very much - just a couple of pings over 3 days.
What setting did you put the AirTag on? With Notifications on? I am have fou AirTags I am going to be putting in my car and moving boxes to try to track my items moving from Alaska. I think my Household Goods re supposed to go by see through the Panama Canal.

if samsung could cooperate or team up with the rest of android that there network would be the entire android system instead of just the samsung network than that would be definitely bigger than apple's network

Hello everyone, my husband just got a new car. He is a bit obsessed with it that it might get stolen or something. His birthday is so close and I wanted to buy airtag for him to check time to time car location so he got sleep calmer 😅 this video was really helpful to see how far the tracking range goes. I m just curious though. If car changes city or something could we also see it like it the video? On different sources it say that the max range is 800 feet. Can you share experience and opinions? Many thanks

Should of bought a few of these before we flew with AIR CANADA from LAX to YYZ on June 20, 2022. Our luggage as of today the 24 of July 2022 is still in the lost status with AIR CANADA. It won't happen again because I just bought the 4 pack of Apple AirTag thingee's. But in the meantime, we are hoping that our luggage lost by AIR CANADA shows up sooner than later.

Doesn't the airtag detect that it isn't with the owner and make some type of noise? And marks itself as lost right? not sure but let me know
It only plays sound if you choose so in the app. Lost mode is also enabled manually.
Actually it does to prevent people from tracking other’s locations but it will only start making noises after 14 or 7 days forgot the exact time
