Really appreciate this brutally honest commentary. I would say from Rainer’s terms, I am a traditionalist looking to lean into the reformer camp. Any thoughts who to listen to or places to start?
"little" battle. Do you all hear how you constantly put down anyone that disagrees with you. You look at the people that disagree with you as that they don't have a conviction and only care about money and control. I realize on the law amendment there are many that disagree with my side, but realize that they have it for convictions and thought through beliefs. Really wish you had more respect for people that disagree with you.
Still, I think it is ok to do labels. I would disagree with your classifications though. So what are the extreme views of the CBN? You keep insulting people that you don't agree with.
If you watch most news you don't hear much about the SBC. Most don't even know there is the SBC. I think most of the "tribe" is irrelevant in most people minds.
Would you support disfellowshipping all churches in the SBC that practice open communion in violation of the BFM? As an ordinance of the church, it's a higher level doctrine than the roles of men and women.
@@SamSRainer Open communion? The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. It would need to be considered if the church understands that to mean in the local church or if they mean member of the body of Chrsit. We would need to solidify the mansing behind member. I talked to one othe original committee members and they did not mean local member, but the convention could solidify that more. Thanks and I agree with you we might need to firm that up.
@@SamSRainer I should have written my perspective is you are being insulting. You might not have been. Sorry about that brother. That was just my thoughts.
@@pastormathew If you're willing to kick out churches over the issues in the Law Amendment, then the same would apply to open communion. Supporters of the Law Amendment MUST be consistent. About half of SBC churches are open communion. If you go down this road, then it will bankrupt the convention. It's your choice. If you fully enforce the BFM on SBC churches, you will have less than half the churches remaining. That's why the Law Amendment is more about power and money than anything else. I don't see any supporters of the Law Amendment also supporting kicking out open communion churches. They are not being consistent.
@@pastormathew Not a problem at all. When I put out public statements, I expect people to respond. I'm glad you are engaging. I'm not the least bit offended.

I don't like the term tribe. Really seems progressive and trying to sound hip.

Sam is being insulting for boiling it down to pie, money, and not doctrine. What about arguing over doctrine. Go Law Ammendment.
