I am not a Southern Baptist, but I am a member of an Independent Baptist Church in Indiana. Our church is small and governs itself. Our pastor teaches from the infallible Word of God, and He does not fall from His Word. I'll be praying for the SBC as it will be tested, once again, by Satan, to adhere to the liberalism of questioning God's Sovereignty.

@@williamtoney2599 He does? If so, why doesnt he speak up against his "Reformed" buddies who pastor churches that allow people to join who have been sprinkled without requiring them to be biblically immersed in baptism?

    • @williamtoney2599
      @williamtoney2599 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

What does that have to do with Dr Mohler’s view of God’s absolute sovereignty. I’m assuming you’re speaking of some denomination like the Presbyterians? I agree that Christians should be submerged, but whether we are sprinkled, splashed or dunked, baptism doesn’t save anyone. We have the same bible but unfortunately we don’t all agree on what it teaches and to make matters worse…..we all think our view is correct.

    • @caman171
      @caman171 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@williamtoney2599 NO I am NOT speaking about Presbyterians. They can do what they want in their churches. I am speaking of SOUTHERN BAPTIST churches that are "Reformed". As a Baptist historian of over three decades, let me say that the term "Reformed Baptist" is an oxymoron. These so called "Reformed" Baptists are in the SBC, and allowing anyone to join their churches WITHOUT biblical baptism ((immersion). But since Mohler seems to be more "Reformed" than Baptist, he stays silent. Oh he will pick on a non calvinist church and try to get them kicked out for some infraction, but he will never do so with his buddies. I agree that only males should be pastors. However, i CAN make a better argument for that, than i can "sprinkling". Some of these churches are also teaching sacramentalism. Lastly, let me say that in a sense you are right. They actually ARE Presbyterians masquerading as Baptists. I came from a church where a reformed guy LIED about his beliefs in order to be hired as pastor. We had 2000 members. Then he appointed an "elder board" accountable only to him without letting the church vote. We walked in one Sunday and all the hymnals had been replaced with the Presbyterian hymnal. Then he started preaching on the "catholicity of the universal church", then the "elders" decided to accept any baptism whether infant, sprinkling or whatever. The church dwinled to less than 35 members, so he sold the property and split the money (5 million dollars) between himself and his buddies on the elder board. Many of these churches have both deacons and deaconesses, because the elder board replaced the deacon board. "Deacon" is the term they use for "service", so you can be a "kitchen deacon" or a "childrens deacon" etc. The elder board rules the church. for the past few years I have been searching among churches to look for these thing. i have found over 200 so far who accept ANY baptism, and have done away with conrgegational polity. they are NOT Baptists in any meaningful sense, so why are they there

Glad to see/hear this. The SBC needs to get back to Scriptural based preaching and discard/dismiss Social based preaching. Some SBC churches preach a "social gospel" (which is no Gospel at all) in various forms. They are part of the SBC to get funding from the SBC, not to buy into or be a part of doctrinal integrity. When they can't get their way, they cry "racism". I say, LET THEM! It's time for the SBC to "slim down" and be a doctrinally sound convention rather than a rainbow coalition for the sake of unity and not offending liberals.

I was in New Orleans last year. I voted for the amendment. I support it. I think the root of the problem is we, as Southern Baptists, have "expanded" the meaning of "pastor." A church should have one pastor. Pastor is an office in the church. We should not have associate, senior adult, administrative, youth, worship or any other "pastors." Pastor is a word that needs no adjective. It is THE pastor, not A pastor. And, I agree with Dr. Mohler. The office of pastor is limited to a man.

There is a metaphor that aptly applies to the SBC and most SBC churches: fretting over what new carpet to put in the sanctuary while ignoring the foundation that's rotten to the core. So many of the SBC practices are fundamentally unBiblical at their core and have (and are) contributed greatly to the foundations being destroyed, e.g. age segregated Sunday Schools, youth groups, 4th Commandment abandonment, individual practices (birth control, entertainment choices, sending kids to public school, etc)...the list is long. A call to repentance by our pastors and those with social media platforms is critical or the list will, indeed, get longer.

Don't let the Southern Baptist church felt like others did. The Bible can't be changed. Women are not pastors.

    It all started Right Here!
Preachers preach this scripture. Fathers teach your sons. Mother’s teach your daughters. Women are cursed with a CONTRARY nature! It must be contended with. If you are confused compare this verse with Genesis 4:7. Males must rule over women in the same way we must rule over sin. A lightbulb should come on!

Well, if the Southern Baptist Convention is good enough for Dr. Albert Mohler, then that's good enough for me, even if the SBC did decide to hold its annual convention north of the Ohio River this year.

Do you trust all victims of crimes and not the criminals, and think no criminals were ever victims of crimes? If I was forced into a work camp, does that mean I could never get out of it and then go on to hurt your loved one?

New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the first three questions below?
Who is now the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary?
What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below.
Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him.
He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8, 3:16? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis?
Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.
Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.
1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

I can lose my life. So, I am not my life. Thus my life is not me, alive, it is dead.
Can a key lose itself and not be where it is?
I am a pulse, not a body, and so my pulse going away is me going away.
And I, the pulse, am alive. Hence, my body is not alive.
I make the dead, my body, walk.
A pulse is life. So in between each pulsation I am dead, and come back to life.
There is a flatline in between each pulse.
So I'm dead and come back to life numerous times throughout the day.
When my pulse peaks I am living, and when it is flat I am dead. So when it is in between those two, not at the top or bottom, I am the living dead.

It’s sad to see the apostasy, but not surprising as the Word of God foretells it.
Since when did the people start to believe the LIE that man is the leader of the church? He’s not, CHRIST is the head of the church. Since when did the people forget that flesh does not minister, but the SPIRIT of GOD. This is true weather He speaks, teaches, instructs, rebukes, or blesses, weather abiding in man or woman, donkey, burning mountain, burning bush, or rocks.
Yet, still as the Israelites who pleaded for a king before the Prophet Samuel, replacing God in their hearts with carnal substitutes, we see many in the church doing the same. What blind, covetousness obsession to usurp a place that ONLY corresponds to Christ. God has already guided, lead, governed, judged, taught, and spoke, in the congregation to men and women, through use of women. Just as He has uses men,He can and has, used women too. The physical, biological form of a person does not matter, but the Spirit of God who fills the vessel used to minister. Again, the flesh cannot minister, and man is not in charge. Thank God for that!
Woman, in the Bible w/ministerial calling: Apostle Juno’s (Romans 16:7)
Prophetess Deborah (Judges 4:4-5) Prophetess Miriam (Mary) (Exodus 15:20) Prophetess Huldah (2 Chronicles 34:21-22) Prophetess Anna (Luke 2:36-37)
    Pastor Pricilla (1 Corinthians 16:19)
    Deacon Phoebe (Romans 16:1-2)
For as many of us were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you all are one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:27-28)
