I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. @@SuoncyCharlotte The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?
Jessica is criticizing the Baptist Church's stance on IVF, but they're free, as a religious denomination, to take whatever positions they want, and people are likewise free to disagree. I'm an Episcopalian, and don't agree with the Episcopal Church's positions on everything, and I suppose that if I disagreed strongly enough, I'd have to cut ties, which would be my choice to make.
I think it's funny how no religious people have little concept about different Christian denominations, their governing structures, and how they differ from each other. All Christians are lumped into 1 monolithic group just like Islamists are lumped into 1. It was nice hearing a segment that is actually forced to differentiate a bit.
Even the two overall subgroups of American Protestantism -- Main Line Protestantism and Evangelical Protestantism -- are hugely different from one-another, and that is before even getting into Baptists vs Methodists, Presbyterians vs Pentacostals, etc.
There are 30K+ Christian denominations ... and one Mother Church (Roman Catholicism ... well, the handful of other Orthodoxies as well). As with all Protestantism, if you don't like the current authority - splinter off and create your own. this should be inherently easier today than over a century ago due to modern communication technology bringing like-minded people together across distances. If women truly wanted to shed the patriarchal church, they have every right and ability to form their own denomination and run it the way they choose...and see how many follow. I find that the people who criticize formal religious institutions are typically agnostic/atheist and have no real intention of bettering the sect, but to instigate self-doubt amongst the laity. Take a lesson from Groucho: don't join a club that would have you as a member.
Very refreshing getting to hearing some dialogue on the politics of our countries dominant religion. Give these ladies the workweek spot (Sorry Robbie).
Why are people shoving political ideologies into a religion/denomination? If people don’t like a denomination there’s a thousand others to choose from.
The churches are supposed to be teaching the bible. Its obvious the churches are not teaching their members the bible, if they were then why are so many of them going against Gods word(the bible) and saying its ok for women to be pastors?
Yeah its great, if you don't like the morals of one church just switch to another one, find a church that picks and choses which parts of the Bible that make you feel good, because its all about you. Sigh.

The Baptists do not speak for the rest of Christianity. There is only one Church that has kept the fullness of the faith, that is the Orthodox Chrstian Church. Please stop referring to the Baptists as "the church" and stop deferring to them as "the church". Refer to them as "the denomination" or "the Baptists". Not as, "the Church". That implies a certain level of exclusivity to the label "the Church", which the Baptist simply don't have.
@@hat8918 Orthodox myself. He is correct. These Baptists are considered heretics of the faith. Literally breaking a rule to appease modern audiences is a demonstration of their willingness to bend to the will of another. Their faith is as brittle as the spine that carries them. @mr.anderson4755 I respect your point of view, but I assure you that Baptists do not view it that way. They would also prioritize sharing their faith with others, instead of trying to correct a non-believers usage of the word church, or ensure non-believers understand how much better they are than other denominations.
@@hat8918 Sure, but how can one prioritize sharing of the faith when their faith is altered before their very eyes? Unless it's only about sharing of the faith and not about the core values and beliefs that come along with it. But then again, how valuable is the message when it can be rewritten? How are they viewing this anyway? I'd really like to know.
@mr.anderson4755 I really don't think the fundamentals between Orthodox and Baptists are that different. It would take a new believer a year or more to really grasp the difference. The message of salvation is the same. You'd find it quite difficult to find a Baptist that believes they are rewriting scripture to benefit themselves. We just believe our good works are a credit to God working in our lives, rather than a litmus test of our faith, and thus a credit to ourselves. We value faith over everything else. God deserves glory for all good things, not us. We all fall short of God, so we don't put as much stock into ritualistic behavior, and focus more on faith in Jesus, reflection and giving God credit for the good things in our lives, and understand the bad things are an opportunity to grow our faith more. We don't idolize human beings, paintings, statues.. Only God.
