Art Haul - Ecoline Brushes for days, Grog squeezers & Karin decobrush

- I got a few bits this week - some are replacements of pencils and paint but I also got a bunch of new Ecoline brush markers, some Grog squeezers and the Karin decobrush markers.

You should mix the primary ecolines into your own colors and use them in old waterbrushes!

Since you own the ecoline primary inks, you might be able to modify some of the colours you think you won't use, like the green. I don't know how much room is in the pen reservoir, but a mixed colour could be more useful. Also, I think posca make large (expensive) markers with sponge applicator -all the fun without the smell. Loved your haul!!
yes! people have mentioned that to me in the past and it's always such a good idea, but i forget to do it. I must put it on my list :)

Ecolines have a much different feel. I really like them :)

I have discovered this soap for cleaning paint brushes, even if you think they can’t be bought back from death, try this. It’s amazing!! I could get it online to Australia so I’m sure you’ll have no probs getting it. It’s called the Marseilles Olive Soap Cube.

Nice to meet the new supplies! Like you, I'm a bit iffy about the Ecoline pens. They're fun to use, but the colours are really similar... Then there are gaps. The fading thing is also a problem, I guess you'd need to digitize everything right away. Plus of course the refill inks take so much space. 😂
Question about the Grogs. Was there a particular reason why you bought them instead of the Posca/Molotow/Montana drip pens/squeezers/whatever they call them? I've been wanting to try the Molotow ones, but haven't yet taken the plunge. Didn't like the Mop'Rs (Poscas), mainly because of the tip texture, and I'm thinking I might be more interested in the rollerball version. But that might have too much flow (drips). 🤔
I didn't realise some of those colours would be so similar. But when a couple of them are empty I can always mix my own colours to do in them :) For the grogs, i literally just bought them because I saw them. I didn't know the other brands had similar things!
I don't often seek out / browse art materials. i always seem to buy things when I see someone else use them. I am highly suggestible.

The Decobrush markers do need regular shaking. The ink starts to separate otherwise. They remind me of gouache except they dry permanent. I have the full set but one or two colours were crusty :(
I like them a lot but the full set is not worth it.
I will probably shake them anyway as I have been conditioned by other paint pens! I have had a little doodle with them since the video and I like them, but I think the nib is a bit too weird feeling for me. I like bigger firmer nibs I think.
