Update: I have recently been trying to use the fine nib markers from this video, and they are terrible. They all use the same style plastic nib, and they dry out so much and are really hard to get going again. I would not recommend the fine nib markers from this video. However, the fine nib on the Magi is still working fine.

Fantastic and very informative video. Also, you say you are not an artist, your artwork is great and you look like an artist to me. My absolute favourite acrylic (brush) marker is the Karin pigment deco brush markers. They aren’t cheep but they are so lovely to use, I love them and bought every single colour! I definitely recommend them.
I came here to mention that about being an artist. I got really sad hearing that because I consider you an artist. And a great one at that ❤ love this video. It was very informative and honest
@@aussiecrafterdo you have hobby lobby where you live? I ask because there's a brand called masters touch that sells acrylic markers and I got them a few weeks ago and so far they've been great! If you have hobby lobby or can get them online I'd love to see you get them and try them out.
I have the Karin deco ones and i swearrr the paint comes out so good for like the first 3 minutes of using it although it starts getting dry so quickly then i have to let it sit for a while just so the paint can get back into the nib again. Does this happen to you too? Or do you know a way to keep it from doing this? Because they are so expensive and i really want to like them more 😅
@@sarahbaker648 Hi, I have noticed that some of the pens do seem to dry up really quickly, which is annoying. I tend to store the brushes nibs down (against the recommendation) and if they get dry, I’ll soak them in water for a few seconds then give them a really good shake before using them again. I do find one or two of the pens struggle with dryness. It is annoying, especially as the first 2 sets I bought, I never had this problem, then I bought all of the other sets and several of the pens do seem to dry out quickly. I guess that is the consequence of not being able to pump them, I wonder if other brands have similar problems. 🤔
I really love and adore all of your little quick canvas art when testing the pens. Especially the multi colors background and black negative monstera leaf! And the cactus 🌵 ❤!
As I watch this I keep having responses, lol. I love all the tests you did - the glass and fabric especially! I’ve struggled with “which ones to buy” and I got like a couple of a tons of brands, but they are largely seem the same at a small scale. This was a really great way to see them in action especially depending on what someone wants to use them for
Fantastic video!! My daughter has been wanting Pasca Pens. But I just can't justify the cost for a 12 year old who tends to leave things outside, doesn't always know where things are, and let's others use her things and often. Some of them just don't care if they get destroyed! 😕 You have definitely given me some options. Allowing me to justify the cost and still get a quality pen. Now I just need to see what brands are available in my country.
I still highly rate and use the Magi (my top pick if you don't need a huge colour range), Tooli-art (if price is the most important) or Artship (if brush nib is what you want). 😉 All 3 available on Amazon.

Great video, I’ve watched other TH-camrs do similar but I love that this is from an Aussie perspective! Have you ever tried Life of Colour paint pens? It’s an Australian company and it looks like most of the paint pens work out to be about $3.25/each. Thanks for the brand review 😃👍✨... Artistro is seen to be of quality and the Posca are cute but expensive 🥺 I love that there is a diversity of tips for all needs 🙌✨✨✨ You should try what the Arrtx, Ohuhu or Karin Markers are like in acrylic ^^
Hullo, I enjoyed your extensive testing and thoroughness in this video is very well done! I will probably stick with the POSCA as my time is more important than money savings, Not that I am independently wealthy but I have less time left to me that I wish to try to save by buying inferior supplies. Thanks for showing what these cheaper markers do.
Posca is still my number one pick too, just not my only. Ten Hundred recently did a review of paint markers testing for the BEST not the cheapest. His review is 💯 %
I know this video is from quite a while ago, but thank you so much for the information! I’ve been wanting to try paint markers for the longest time. I have two fine tip poscas that I bought to add details to some of my other medium’s art. But they’re just too pricey for me to get a whole pack just to try out. I’m definitely going to try out the tooli art when I can! They have color packs that look absolutely perfect to start off with and they’re so affordable. I’ve never heard of them before so I’m so excited to try it out.
I really wish you had a chance to compare Arrtx paint markers they dont need activation, they are two sided with brush and regular nip..they are sooo affordable but super good!
Watching this while swatching the new anko paint markers (36 pack for about 16$. Theyre alright, one of the markers so far had a nib which was wrecked tho. Itrs fairly opaque on the black paper im using which is decent (though depends on the colour, some are juicier than others). And the marker nib size/and barrel size is a bit on the smaller side (more akin to a permanent marker or a felt) (And it does have a white at least) (says theyre alcohol based though, which huh?) (take all this with a grain of salt! i have limited experience with paint markers soo XD) Very neat video though. Always cool to see people doing videos about different art supplies/comparisons!
I think you might of got a bad set from Bunnings because I bought them myself to, and after having them sit the right way around for a good hour or two. They worked really well for me. And they come in two different sizes as well.
Haha, totally my hubby wouldn't be happy if I did this video. I don't have the artistro brush pens, but I do love their regular paint pens. Also their white in regular paint pens both the medium and fine tip, I have to say they tend to be more opaque than my only posca pen which is a white one lol.
It's interesting as you're not the first to say that. I would be interested in buying the regular Artistro🤔,,,, but I think I'm set for paint pens for awhile 😆😆
@@aussiecrafter I totally understand that lol. It is super easy to go overboard with art supplies isn't it? I do like the artistro pens though. They haven't given me any trouble either. I do have the issue with the ultra fine splattering on uneven surfaces, as they do have that plastic nib too. However, you can get a great thin line if you are super careful. I used mine on wooden slices last year for cmas. They turned out pretty good actually.
Thank you for the great review! Glad my first (and inly) paint pens are Posca! I Love them! If you want to try something different... ....leather/textile paint (ALPHAFLEX) from ALPHA 6 Corp. ...made un the US(Alphaflex paint pens and liquid in bottles). Giving ANGELUS paint some competition! A REAL Juicy rangw of colours. Very opaque even on black leather👍
Have you tried the Kmart brand acrylic paint markers? Big W also now have acrylic paint markers this year Have you ever tried any from Shein? They have lots of different paints markers.?
Thank you so much for this comprehensive video. It was so helpful. Have you by any chance ever tried the Ohuhu brand of paint markers? I’ve been looking at these recently after seeing them recommended. 🥰
Ladies and gentleman.... She likes wood 😂😂❤❤. Im planning to purchase some acrylic paint pens today. Want to try out some new mediums and create some new art. Thanks for the inspiration 🙏🏽
I'm thinking about getting one of these markers but I don't want to get them and they suck so I just want to make sure there good for coloring on paper
I feel excited before watching this video... Let's see if we can find a nice alternative to post markers for us that just want to try something similar without selling a kidney. 👀
Tooli-art has sincerely been a discovery, I think I will try those on the short run since I don't feel confident enough to go towards Posca Markers (yet haha). Great humor on this video! I truly enjoyed the exhaustive review you have made. I wasn't expecting to see the markers in so many different mediums since what most people show is paper and canvas. Now I feel curious on how they may perform on rock 🧐 But maybe that's for me to find out. Lovely video!
I really rate the Tooli-art, however, I wouldn't go for their fine tip as I've since learned from Rose Requin Crafts they use the plastic nib. The plastic nibs are terrible.

I thought they were decent until I'd used them a bit more over time and they constantly clog up and are difficult to get flowing again. It's their plastic nib that let's them down. I'm going to be getting some Arrtyx dual tip and brush paint markers soon and will be reviewing them so stay tuned 😉
Are you British or Australian? You said the markers were "three dollars thirty" Nobody in the US would say it that way. But I thought you might be Australian where it makes more sense, since Australia calls its money dollars.
@@aussiecrafter It's not that it doesn't make sense, it's just odd phrasing for an American. We would say three thirty or three dollars and thirty cents.

I’ve never heard of them before so I’m so excited to try it out.
I really wish you had a chance to compare Arrtx paint markers they dont need activation, they are two sided with brush and regular nip..they are sooo affordable but super good!
Thank you for this video. I use Posca because it works great. But, I will try Tooli Art and Magi.
Watching this while swatching the new anko paint markers (36 pack for about 16$. Theyre alright, one of the markers so far had a nib which was wrecked tho. Itrs fairly opaque on the black paper im using which is decent (though depends on the colour, some are juicier than others). And the marker nib size/and barrel size is a bit on the smaller side (more akin to a permanent marker or a felt) (And it does have a white at least) (says theyre alcohol based though, which huh?) (take all this with a grain of salt! i have limited experience with paint markers soo XD)
Very neat video though. Always cool to see people doing videos about different art supplies/comparisons!
this video is so well done!
Great review in paint markers. I only have maybe 5 or 6 Poscas and no others as I can’t seem to figure out blending with them. Lol.
Thanks 😁Yeh, blending is a little tricky. A paint brush helps.
I think you might of got a bad set from Bunnings because I bought them myself to, and after having them sit the right way around for a good hour or two. They worked really well for me. And they come in two different sizes as well.
I've had them sitting in the right position for months now,,,,, so I might have to go and test them again.
Excellent comprehensive .... thank you.
Have you tried the Kmart brand acrylic paint markers? Big W also now have acrylic paint markers this year
Have you ever tried any from Shein? They have lots of different paints markers.?
Great comprehensive review! I'm finding it hard to find the Magi markers - where did you buy them? Is this the same a Magicfly?
Try this link or look under the brand Coogert. This listing is very expensive now 😬amzn.asia/d/740WdRT
@@aussiecrafter yes they are! I will look out for posca when they're on sale
Beautiful! Does anybody have a link to the Magi markers? I can’t find them
I feel so validated with my Poscas and Tooliarts lmao
😄Glad it helped😁
Thank you so much for this comprehensive video. It was so helpful. Have you by any chance ever tried the Ohuhu brand of paint markers? I’ve been looking at these recently after seeing them recommended. 🥰
Not yet! But I want to 😃
@@aussiecrafterI can’t wait… 😆🥰
Lol your the paint pen version of Sarah Renea Clark!! Great video 😊 xx
😄
Ladies and gentleman.... She likes wood 😂😂❤❤. Im planning to purchase some acrylic paint pens today. Want to try out some new mediums and create some new art. Thanks for the inspiration 🙏🏽
Omg! Please can we send you some our Surfpaints for a review :)
I’m surprised Life of Colour markers weren’t here, being Australian markers too 🤗
Love the wood art adorable 😊
Thank you so much! 😊
For the normal anko paint markers there is a white in the pastel version as well as more colours
Wow, your right ✅️ They didn't have them when I did this,,,, wish they had! Would of definitely rated them higher 👍
I'm thinking about getting one of these markers but I don't want to get them and they suck so I just want to make sure there good for coloring on paper
I think out off the paint markers the brush tips chew up the paper the least.
Could you plz do a review on Brustro Acrylic Paint Markers?
my biggest thing is wanting to buy one that is waterproof! which one!
I love Tooli they have a huge range
hi! i just wanted to say thank you so much for the thorough comparison! really saved me a lot of research! ❤❤
oh also, if you shopped online, would you mind sending the links for Tooli-Art and Magi? thanks!
Magi here www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09LT385TB/ref=nosim?tag=aussiecrafter-22. The price has gone up☹️
Tooli Art 36 Acrylic Paint Pens Skin and Natural Earth Tone Marker Set For Rock Painting, Canvas, Mugs, Glass, Plastic, Wood, Metal, Fabric, Scrapbooking, Most Surfaces. Quick Drying Waterbased (MEDIUM) amzn.asia/d/1zvHyWy PLEASE NOTE: Don't buy their fine nib as I believe they use the dreaded plastic fine nib. RoseRequinCrafts used their fine nibs and wasn't that impressed with them.
Thank you so much! I thought it might be the one but the brand name is different.@@aussiecrafter
Would you have a link for the Magi markers? I've tried Amazon Australia but can't find them. 😕
This link should get you there. Please be advised this is an affiliate link which means if you use it and make a purchase I will get a "commission ". If your not comfortable with that, just type coogert paint markers into Amazon.

What do you think about flysea markers? Like for using on a phone case, compared to posca?
I thought they were decent until I'd used them a bit more over time and they constantly clog up and are difficult to get flowing again. It's their plastic nib that let's them down. I'm going to be getting some Arrtyx dual tip and brush paint markers soon and will be reviewing them so stay tuned 😉
@@aussiecrafter ok txs! 😍
Interesting and helpful 😊
Glad it was helpful! 😁💙🙏
Which do you think would have worked best on glass?
Surprisingly the Anko stayed put the best on glad but the Tooli, Magi and Posca performed well too.
Do you know where to get the Magi markers? Ive been looking everywhere for them and it seems like the brand completely disappeared from the internet.
Try Coogert Paint Pens on Amazon
Amazing video! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you 😁🥰
I’m guessing Bunnings is what Hammer Barn is based on (from Bluey)? 😆
Yes 😆
Pilot Pintor Paintmarkers are pretty good and a little cheaper than Posca
Posca has brush markers and a new poster size
Girthy ones are certainly easier to hold...lol.
1:53 mmmmmmm waffels 🧇 and eggs 🍳
Ohuhu Paint markers are really good.
my poscas do splatter sometimes 😢😢
Coooooool
Are you British or Australian? You said the markers were "three dollars thirty" Nobody in the US would say it that way. But I thought you might be Australian where it makes more sense, since Australia calls its money dollars.
Yes, I'm an Australian. ☺️ I didn't realise it wouldn't make sense in the US.
@@aussiecrafter It's not that it doesn't make sense, it's just odd phrasing for an American. We would say three thirty or three dollars and thirty cents.
Only 22 likes?and only 3 comments?lemme change dat oh btw is my birthday
Thank you 🥰 and HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🥳 Hope you have a fabulous day 🥳
🧑🏽🎨 😉😆

Your knotty. Lol
of course you are an artist. what a silly thin to say that you are not one
I can highly recommend the Artistro fine nip ones. They are selling them in a big package, and they are very good.
Thank you, good to know 👍
