The vocal harmony in the chorus is unfuckin real. I get goosebumps everytime I hear it and I've heard this song 100+ times
the only thing that bothers me is that whitechapel does not have backing vocals in live shows. No idea why none of the other band members can provide backing vocals. They seriously lacking live
@@Revan-eb1wb I think they were back tracking the harmonies live which isn't the best practice but at least it gives it something.
@@KRUNK42069 Possible. Breaking Benjamin did that before they became a 5 piece band and the rhythm gutiarist and bass player did backing vocals. Another example is 30stm. Nobody does backing vocals. sounds not that great live. And it is a shame because Leto is a great vocalist

This is my fave track off of “Kin.” The versatility Phil Bozeman had shown in his harsh vocals was only the tip of the iceberg, as these newer songs show just how incredible of an overall vocalist he is. Holy shit. As an fan since the Exile days, I really like they way they’re experimenting!
I’m from the somatic defilement days and still think their top 3 albums are (in order) kin, a new era of corruption, then the valley. Kin fucking blew me away, Phil doing cleans was the best direction they did

Honestly, it actually reminded me of early Demon Hunter years, they sound like Rock while Ryan Clark would add the Vocals, similar to this song.

I've written, played and lived metal since 1988. That said, in my opinion, Whitechapel over these last two albums is truly blooming into unbelievable artists. Not that they weren't amazing, but they are shooting straight past next level now.
They completely and totally shocked the Metal World with another single from this album that shared Phil singing so beautiful it changed the game. The album is legendary
Definitely check out the rest of this album. Its seriously the best music I’ve heard in the last 20 years.

This change of pace and music is MUCH needed for the story of Kin. I think what caught the fan base off guard was when they released their album Mark Of The Blade and there were a few songs that had some cleans in it but after hearing The Valley and now Kin, Phil has really improved his clean vocals and I'm very pleased and fully on board with the direction Phil and Whitechapel went with their music. I cannot wait to see what they bring us next.
I love Whitechapel. Phil is a beast in whatever he does, clean or unclean, lyrics are masterful.

Honestly I don’t think that getting more fans had anything to do with it, the subject matter of the last two records demanded more diversity from a vocal standpoint in order to express the range of emotions
