Alex Rudinger - Whitechapel - "Anticure"

- Despite the fact that I'm no longer with Whitechapel, I'm still immensely proud of 'KIN'. So awhile back I recorded a few more play-throughs for some of my favorite tunes from the album - while the material was still relatively 'fresh' for me. Here's the third (of 4) - "Anticure".
Anticure's definitely a vocal-driven song with more of a 'Rock' vibe, which I guess is fairly different relative to Whitechapel's back-catalogue. But truthfully, I think it's one of the best songs Phil's ever written vocally. He absolutely killed it, & it's one of my favorites from the album.
Drum-wise, although it's a bit less 'tech' than some people might expect (again, relative to what Whitechapel's known for drum-wise), I really love how the drums compliment & work with the song. Doing a tom part of sorts during the chorus was actually one of the other guys' ideas (not entirely sure who to be honest! Lol!). When they sent me the initial demo with their programming, there was something along those lines, & I thought it was really creative & different. I expanded on it a bit, but I certainly can't take all the credit for the drums in this song - like most of the album, it was certainly a collaborative effort.

I think this was one of my favorite songs from the album. I could feel the emotion in the vocals in this song.
Especially when there's no vocals just like in this video , cuz you can hear phil's soulful singing in your head

This and Kin are my favorites. I wish it had worked out with Rudi and the boys. Would love to hear what he'd do on future releases.
It's a shame Rudi and Whitechapel didn't last long, but what they did make together is phenomenal. Great song from a great album.
They went to a "brutal" stuff again under the pressure of the part of their fans and deathcore community. I hope after they will fulfill their "trve" needs they will come back to a style from the valley at least.

I love how, even though it seemed like a bit of tension surrounding Rudi being drummer then not really, that Rudi will still put the Whitechapel stuff he did up. That's owning what you created and being proud of it. Love it dude
The emotion in that set is ridiculous. Sometimes in music you pay attention to a certain element and for me that was drums. It conveyed the entire feeling of the song. Nice work
Quality of composition cannot be overstated

I love the whitechapel very much.
I remember, when I first time heard the Whitechapel's song called " worship the digital age" oh, man. How this song impressed me. That fast double base, groove, fills..
Ben was an amazing drummer...
But when I heard an album "the Walley" and found out that you're the Whitechapel's drummer, it was mind-boggling, to listen to your variety of cool grooves, fills, breaks and your double base patterns.
Man, I'm your subscriber, I'm also a drummer, I know how to play a couple of songs from "Walley" such as "When demon defiles a witch", or "black bear" but the album "kin" it's the highest level, it's a new age of whitechapel. The highest quality of the band's sound and your drumming. The heavy parts combining within "light country guitars vibes". The Ben's parts are so melodical, just awesome. Alex's and Zack's parts are heavy. And Phil's vocals... he is the beast. He's the best vocalist)
Your grooves, fills how you chande the notes subdivisions, use the every part of your amazing drum kit in this album, it's just a pleasure for ears!
Alex, you are the best drummer at this genre and the best for whitechapel!
It's so pitty that you've left the band. Now they also have a good drummer Zack. He has a good technique as well, I also love the "enterprise earth:, they're having awesome live shows now, but nobody can replace you. It's your parts, you have written them.
As I mentioned above, it's the best whitechapel's album, the best songs and your fantastic drumming. And when you release the playthrough videos, man... every video it's just the masterpiece! You're amazing drummer. Love your drumming man!!!!

I cannot understand why Rudy left. The drums on this album sounded amazing. The drum parts and the sound are superb.
it was probably all programmed by the band, they might have had some stipulations for Rudy that he didn't want to agree to (he didn't sign anything either), maybe he didn't feel creatively a good fit, and maybe the band are dicks
He's talked about it before briefly on his IG - there was some contract stuff that seemed off and ultimately they decided to go their separate ways.
@@TylerHNothing Can't agree that the drumming was programmed by the band. This has Rudi written all over it. It's completely authentic and unique to his style.

As great as Brandon Zackey is doing drumming for Whitechapel, it sucks things didn't work out with y'all. Just saw them with BTBAM & Trivium the others day and, while it was a 10/10 concert, it probably would have solidified it being 10/10 even quicker if you had been there haha.
